Across the UK, our 60+ local branches help disabled people live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our Engineer/Maker volunteers are at the very heart of what our local branches do. They use their practical skills and creativity to help people with disabilities live fuller and more independent lives.

What the role involves

This is a varied role where local need shapes what you’ll be working on, but it often includes:

• Designing and making pieces of equipment for individuals with specific needs

• Using your practical skills working with metal, wood, plastic, or electronics (or a combination of them)

• Attending a monthly meeting of the local branch.

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you’ll need for this role

Essential

• Practical experience in working with one of the above materials

• Comfortable working with people, listening to them and understanding their needs

• Able to apply our risk management system

• Able to apply disability, equality, and inclusion practices

• Able to keep people’s personal details safe

• Willing to follow REMAP policies and procedures and a commitment to our values

Desirable

• Access to your own tools and workshop (or can access these)

• Able to drive or have good transport links

You’ll also need to complete the induction checklist, as well as a DBS check and reference check.

Where will I volunteer?

This role is largely home based, but will generally also involve visiting clients out in the community. Your local branches hold in-person meetings once a month or so.

Time commitment

This varies quite a lot depending on which cases come in, how complex they are and whether they fit your skills and experience, but it’s essentially a flexible role and there are no set hours.

These roles are operational volunteer roles, not trustee positions.

Purpose

To deliver hot meals directly to the homes of client in Stamford and providing caring social interaction. Working in partnership with Second Helpings, Evergreen volunteers deliver to people who are housebound, socially isolated, or vulnerable and who would benefit from a nutritious meal and seeing a regular friendly face.

Key responsibilitie

Must have access to an insured, roadworthy vehicle, with current MOT / tax, along with a valid driver's licence

Co-drivers typically help deliver the food bags to recipient’s houses, assist with ‘map reading’ on the route, but don’t need to have a car or driver’s license as they are passengers.

Capable of delivering on a route

Engaging positively with members in a friendly, kind, compassionate and caring manner

Can follow all new health and safety meal delivery protocols.

Notify your car insurance company that you are doing volunteer deliveries.

Volunteers should keep clear records of journeys taken as volunteers, with the mileage, time/date and purpose of journey

Volunteer drivers should wear their Evergreen ID badge for volunteer drivers so that the people they are delivering to can clearly recognise it is an Evergreen volunteer.

130 Primrose is a charity restaurant in Primrose Hill using hospitality as a vehicle for change- recruiting, training and employing people with lived experience of homelessness.

In just 12 months, we’ve already supported individuals into paid work, qualifications, and long-term employment pathways. Now, we’re entering an exciting growth phase, with ambitions to scale our model to new sites and reach significantly more people. 

We’re seeking a Strategic Finance Trustee to join our board and help guide this next stage- bringing commercial insight, financial clarity, and strategic challenge as we grow.

About the Role

This is a strategic, non-operational trustee position for a senior finance leader who can translate financial insight into clear, practical decision-making.

You’ll work closely with the Chair, CEO, and Board to ensure our model is financially sustainable, scalable, and impactful- supporting both our social mission and our trading activity.

Our model combines earned income (restaurant operations) with social impact, making financial leadership a critical lever for success.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Board on financial strategy, planning, and risk oversight
• Challenge and refine forecasting and cashflow planning (12–36 months)
• Strengthen financial visibility (P&L, balance sheet, cash) for operational teams
• Advise on unit economics, including menu margins, labour model, and cost control
• Improve budgeting, KPIs, and scenario modelling to support growth (e.g. new sites)
• Contribute to funding strategy, including grants, partnerships, and social investment
• Help establish and potentially chair a Finance & Risk Committee
• Ensure strong governance, compliance, and financial controls
• Act as a critical friend- supporting and constructively challenging leadership

About You

We’re looking for a senior finance leader (e.g. CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent) who brings:

• Significant experience leading financial strategy within complex organisations
• Strong understanding of forecasting, cashflow, and scenario planning
• Ability to translate financial complexity into clear, actionable insight
• A commercial mindset with empathy for social impact
• Experience of governance and working at board or executive level

Desirable:

• Experience in hospitality, multi-site operations, or customer-led businesses

Cards for Bravery is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of hospitalised, seriously ill and chronically ill children and young people across the UK. We provide a range of services including the distribution of items such as handmade cards, activity packs, care packages and other initiatives designed to bring comfort, connection and support during difficult times.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Lead to help coordinate and support our incredible volunteer community.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the charity by helping recruit, welcome and support volunteers, ensuring they have a positive experience while contributing to our mission. Working closely with the Founder and the wider team, you'll help build an engaged, motivated and connected volunteer community, enabling us to reach even more children, young people and families.

A DBS Check will be required for this role, completed by the charity.

The role will include activities such as:

• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and induction of new volunteers.

• Being a first point of contact for volunteer enquiries and providing ongoing support throughout their volunteering journey.

• Developing and maintaining a digital volunteer hub, ensuring volunteers have access to resources, updates, guidance and opportunities.

• Assist organising volunteer communications, including updates, newsletters and online meetings or catch-ups.

• Maintaining volunteer records and helping monitor volunteer engagement and involvement.

• Working with the Founder to identify volunteer needs and support the growth of our volunteer team.

• Helping to recognise, celebrate and thank volunteers for their contributions.

• Sharing ideas and feedback to continually improve the volunteer experience at Cards for Bravery.

About the role

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will help ensure volunteers feel informed, valued and supported in their roles.

You will be the main point of contact for volunteers, matching them with suitable opportunities and ensuring a positive, inclusive experience.

What you will be doing

You will coordinate daily volunteer activities, including:

• Promoting volunteer opportunities.
• Responding to volunteer enquiries.

• Coordinating rotas, schedules, and activities.
• Maintaining up-to-date volunteer records.

Time commitment

We are looking for someone who can commit to 4–6 hours per week.

Volunteering times will be agreed based on your availability and organisational needs.

Location

This role is primarily in-person in Manchester, with some agreed tasks completed remotely where appropriate.

Role Summary

Working alongside fellow volunteers and staff, you will help keep our gardens and outdoor spaces attractive, safe and well maintained. Our gardens provide a place for reflection, comfort and enjoyment, making your contribution an important part of the experience we offer.

Gardening volunteer opportunities are currently available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. We offer a flexible approach to volunteering, and the time commitment is largely at the volunteer's discretion. Whether you can give a few hours occasionally or volunteer more regularly, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Main duties of this role may include any of the following: 

• Helping to keep gardens and outdoor areas tidy, welcoming and well cared for.
• Weeding, planting, digging, edging, pruning and sweeping pathways as required.
• Assisting with the care and maintenance of flower beds and planted areas.
• Watering pots, containers and garden areas when needed.
• Supporting the upkeep of composting areas.
• Mowing lawns and helping maintain grassy areas.
• Reporting any larger gardening or maintenance requirements to your line manager, such as hedge cutting or tree work.
• Informing your line manager if tools require replacement, repair or sharpening.
• Helping to keep the gardening shed and storage areas organised and tidy.

Experience & qualifications required

· Volunteers will be expected to work independently and should be comfortable undertaking gardening duties with minimal supervision.

· This role does not provide hands-on gardening instruction or training so previous gardening experience is preferred.
