I am Somebody’s Child Soldier (IamSCS) works to empower war-affected individuals and populations through improved wellbeing and strengthened community inclusion. It does this through its current strategic goal of working with local communities in northern Uganda to enhance the lives of formerly abducted children and the communities they live in. With the specific objectives of improving the mental health of up to 1000 war-affected individuals, facilitating the creation of an environment that is conducive to the sustainable (re)integration of war-affected individuals, and supporting local government in northern Uganda to provide a clear prioritisation in addressing the needs of war-affected individuals. As part of its programme activities, IamSCS works with Laroo ADRA school in Gulu, northern Uganda to support its work with war-affected children. Many of the children attending this school come from impoverished backgrounds and have encountered extreme hardship in their lives with some being hearing-impaired as a result of their exposure to the Lord’s Resistance Army conflict.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Co-CEO to join our leadership team in a voluntary, part-time capacity. This role will work in partnership with the existing leadership and Board of Trustees to drive strategic growth, oversee project delivery, and strengthen organisational impact.
The Scope of leadership role is detailed below:
1)Project Support & Management:
Working with our Executive Assistant (EA) to ensure the successful delivery of our annual projects and making sure we are hitting the targets of each project. This could include:
• Ensuring the right number of partners/schools are onboarded.
• Ensuring we are meeting the predicted beneficiary numbers in the project application. • Ensuring we are meeting the predicted impact statistics.
• Supporting our EA when challenges arise.
• Deciding whether projects match with our organisation values and making key decisions whether to pursue 2nd round funding for projects.
• Writing and preparing post-project reports for funders, stakeholders and partners. • Collaborating with program director to design and implement scalable versions of our programmes – striving towards financial sustainability and increased impact.
2)Organisational Growth & Income Generation:
• Reviewing our 3-year strategic plan and identifying any new potential areas of expansion. • Leading the strategic growth of the organisation by 200%-400% over the first nine months– in terms of annual income and impact.
• Working towards financial sustainability for the organisation and its projects. • Identifying new grants/government tenders/corporate sponsorships that are relevant to our vision/mission and leading funding applications and project bids.
3)Team Management:
• Reporting into our Board of Trustees, keeping them up to date on our activities, policies and procedures.
• Line-managing our team and volunteers whilst supporting their projects as and when necessary or when challenges arise.
• Writing and managing our annual budgets – ensuring we are not overspending, flagging, and responding to financial risks as and when they appear.
• Leading recruitment activity as and when needed – recruiting new facilitators and volunteers when needed.
• Creating, applying, and updating our policies, ensuring our HR processes, safeguarding and other vital policies are robust.
• Having monthly meetings with our Trustee Board and actioning suggested changes to our projects/programmes made by the Board.
4)Growing our Network & Reach:
• Growing our relationships and networks of schools/local authorities/youth organisations to increase our work inside and outside of Uganda – identifying target areas to focus. • Using these networks to pilot and scale new/national interventions.
• Growing our relationships with local councils in Uganda and the UK.

The Wellbeing Officer (Trustee) provides information, guidance and advice to volunteers and service users around topics such as mental health and wellbeing. Additionally, if service users or volunteers have any concerns, the best point of contact is the wellbeing officer.
What do we specifically expect of this role?
● Delivery of a plan to proactively assist officers and volunteers in public-facing roles, with tools and techniques to prevent or reduce any initial harm/trauma from purposeful or accidental harmful interactions - social media, live events, outreach, panel events, etc.
● Providing support for service users by way of triaging and responding to requests that come through to the wellbeing inbox. ● Building and maintaining wellbeing resources for service users and following a data-informed approach as to areas of wellbeing improvement. This includes building relationships with external service providers that can assist in helping members of our community.
How much commitment is required?
We are flexible around your own schedule. However, the following commitments are in place for all member of the Hidayah board:
● To be able to attend all Trustee meetings and to deliver a comprehensive report to the committee each meeting with updates and to completed actions as and when they appear;
● To aim to attend all other planning meetings as necessary when close to Hidayah events as well as the events themselves (where possible due to geography);
● To help to fundraise for, and advertise, any Hidayah events and fundraising drives;
● To be part of a communications group to keep up to date with Hidayah developments;
● To contribute toward and to maintain the administration of our file sharing system ‘Google Drive’ so it is always up to date with clear records, templates and forms; 1

The Early Education and Childcare Coalition is a policy and advocacy partnership working to transform the system for families. We unite the voices of all those with a stake in the future of early education and childcare – children, parents, providers, the early years workforce and the business community. Founded by more than 30 organisations, our members are parent campaign groups, child advocacy organisations, early childhood experts, antipoverty campaigners, provider membership bodies, trade unions and business lobbying groups.
Our vision is of a high-quality, inclusive system of early education and childcare that is accessible to all children, affordable for parents, fairly funded for providers, and offers decent pay and conditions for the workforce. Our mission is to rescue and reform the system by combining urgent policy measures to stabilise the sector with long-term transformation.

The Coalition was co-designed throughout 2022 by more than 30 organisations and launched publicly in 2023. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength, concluding a successful hosting relationship and becoming an independent organisation in the summer of 2025, with a team of eight staff influencing policymaking and connecting families, providers and decision-makers through advocacy, co-production and convening.
Please note that the Coalition is in the process of registering as a charity; therefore, it is expected that board members will transition to become trustees within the next year.

We are looking to grow our new board and strengthen our succession planning. Therefore, board membership could include taking on senior roles within the Board following a familiarisation period and supported development.

About the role
Board members will work closely with the Coalition’s Executive Director, staff team and Advisory Group to ensure the success of the organisation to meet its aim to transform early education and childcare in England.
Board members are legally responsible for running the company, making sure information is sent to Companies House on time, setting the strategic direction of the organisation, monitoring progress, ensuring good governance and supporting the staff team in their work.
Board members must follow the rules set out in the company’s Articles of Association, agree to act in the best interests of the organisation and raise any conflicts of interests throughout their term.
Responsibilities:
Provide financial oversight of the organisation including overseeing budgeting, monitoring performance, signing off accounts, financial reporting and fundraising. (The Board Treasurer will lead on financial management and assessing financial risk, but financial oversight is a duty of all board members).
Work with other board members to continue growing the Board, identifying skill gaps, organisational needs and participating in the recruitment and onboarding of new board members.
Work with other board members to implement the strategic plan, contributing ideas and proposals.
Monitor progress on strategy through Board and other meetings.
Provide support to the Executive Director on operational matters, including but not limited to HR, legal compliance, communications and membership matters and where appropriate, policy developments.

Time commitment
Board members will be required to attend up to five board meetings per year for approximately two hours each (with up to 4 hours preparation time). These are usually held on Zoom, with one away day in London expected per year with the staff team. Any travel and other related and reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Papers will be shared ahead of time and reading and preparation is expected ahead of each meeting.
Board members may also be asked between meetings to act as signatories, give time to contribute to reports, applications and accounts, and provide advice and guidance to the Executive Director and wider staff team on specific topics and/ or issues.
The predicted time commitment for the Board members is estimated at 2-4 hours per month depending on Board role with one away day.

This is a voluntary, unpaid role with reasonable expenses for in-person meetings paid in advance or reimbursed.

Founded by former professional rugby player Ed Jackson and his wife, Lois, following Ed’s life-changing spinal injury, M2M uses the power of adventure, nature, and community to support people on their journey of recovery.
At the heart of the charity lies the M2M Development Programme - a bespoke, holistic support system tailored to each beneficiary’s unique recovery journey. The role of a Treasurer is an unpaid, voting role sitting on the UK Board of Trustees and reporting to the Chair of Trustees. In line with our policy, all trustees initially start in a non-voting advisor role to ensure that both they and the board are happy to formalise the trusteeship before transitioning to a full voting trustee position.

No one should have to sleep rough on London’s streets and everyone should get the support they need to find a place to call home.
This is an exciting time for The Connection. Although rough sleeping is increasing on our streets, we believe we have the solutions. To meet the growing need for our help, we need to secure more resources. We are planning a new fundraising strategy so that we can save lives, work more closely with health services and get more people into long term accommodation.
About the Role
To achieve this, we are looking for more fundraising expertise at Board level. We are looking for a senior fundraising professional to join our active and skilled board. Ideally you are a Fundraising Director working in a successful medium to large charity, with strong knowledge of highly effective, innovative fundraising teams. You will guide us to get the best from the resources we put in and steer further investment to support ambitious growth.
We have a particular interest in major donor and corporate fundraising as these are areas where we have the opportunities for growth. We are also keen to build relationships with senior leaders at funder organisations and encourage them to act as ambassadors to promote our cause.
