We are looking for volunteers to support our small, friendly warehouse team in Swindon.
If you’d like to make a hands-on contribution to sharing the power of books worldwide, and you have a few hours a week you can offer on a regular basis, we’d love to hear from you.
The role includes assisting in preparing book shipments by selecting titles accurately from a provided pick list and using handheld scanners.
You will contribute to the overall safety of the working environment by following health and safety practices, and contribute to a positive team environment.
You must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting duties, including handling and placing individual books.

About MenWalkTalk
MenWalkTalk is a free, non-judgemental space for men aged 18+ to walk, talk (or not talk), and feel part of something. We run walk-and-talk groups across the UK, led by trained volunteers, focused on connection, belonging, and peer support.
The role (what you’ll do)
You’ll help us keep our social channels active, clear, and welcoming — turning real moments from our walks and community into simple, human content.
Typical tasks include:
- Drafting and scheduling posts for Facebook (main channel), plus Instagram and LinkedIn
- Turning photos, short quotes, and updates from walk leaders into posts (with guidance/templates)
- Light graphic creation using Canva (basic edits, resizing, adding text/branding)
- Replying to comments/messages in a friendly, on-brand way (or flagging anything sensitive)
- Helping keep a simple content calendar up to date
- Supporting small campaigns (e.g., volunteer recruitment, awareness weeks, fundraising pushes)
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a pro — just reliable, thoughtful, and happy to learn.
Ideal if you:
- Write clearly in plain English (warm, human tone)
- Have good attention to detail and can follow brand guidelines
- Are comfortable using Facebook and basic tools like Canva
- Can handle sensitive topics with care (men’s mental health) and know when to escalate
- Are organised and can work independently for a few hours each week
Nice to have (not essential)
- Experience volunteering or working with charities/community groups
- Basic photo/video editing (even just phone edits)
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite)

Our inpatient ward at Martlets helps us care for our patients and their families. The ward, comprising of two wings, has 14 bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and access to outside spaces. The rooms are designed to be calming and comfortable. The inpatient ward has a dedicated team of specialist doctors and nurses supported by health care assistants. Some people choose to spend their final weeks with us. However, most patients can go home once we have their symptoms under control.
Our reception desk is the first point of call for all visitors, and we are looking for volunteers to help carry out a range of reception duties ensuring everyone is greeted with a warm welcome. This role is weekend cover only, doing a half day Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon.

FareShare Merseyside redistributes quality surplus food to over 232 community-based organisations who are working with vulnerable people across the region and parts of North Wales. We are keen to expand our reach, actively looking to recruit charity members who want to help us in our Warehouse, Vans, and Kitchen.
Volunteering with FareShare Merseyside
Our volunteers are at the heart of our service, with an amazing team of almost 100 volunteers, who ensure quality surplus food reaches those most in need in all communities in our region. As a thank you for their support, we hold regular wellbeing social events and offer pathways onto our employability program.
What will I be doing?
- Travelling with designated van drivers to deliver and collect food
- Representing FareShare in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Supporting drivers to carry out routine checks on the vans, taking responsibility for the vans throughout the day and reporting accidents or damage to the van or other vehicles
- Supporting drivers to complete all relevant paperwork
- Planning routes, sorting food, picking orders, loading and unloading vans
- Assisting with maintenance of the vans including cleaning
What we need you to be:
- Minimum of 18 years old
- Good at map reading and/or able to use a Sat Nav system
- Positive, friendly and enthusiastic about tackling food waste and/or food poverty
- Able to perform physical tasks including lifting and loading
- Good with numbers, identifying different foods, writing clearly
- Able to work effectively and use your initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work well in a team and on your own
- Able to follow FareShare’s policies & procedures
- Flexible – there may be times when we ask you to help on other projects/tasks

Volunteer Toddler Activities Assistant (Term Time)
About The Role
At WWT we shape unforgettable experiences; we want people to feel part of something amazing and this includes our youngest of visitors and the people they visit with. We are therefore looking for keen and enthusiastic people to help run our weekly Wednesday term time toddler group: The Gosling Gang. You will enjoy working with other volunteers, families and young children; have good communication skills, an outgoing personality and an ability to think on your feet.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

Volunteer Opportunities at Coombe House Farm
Our farm is in the early stages of an exciting journey. We are already cultivating a vibrant mix of fruit and vegetables, including our no-dig beds, polytunnels and orchard.
