As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You'll be:

• supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers
• planning fundraising events and activities with your team
• allocating tasks before and during fundraising events
• keeping financial records from fundraising events
• encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

Please note that due to the nature of the role (transporting resources to and from events, cash security, etc) having your own transport is preferred but not essential.  

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Oxford Friends of the Earth is looking for a new Coordinator. We are a voluntary group with 1800+ supporters and focus on climate action, nature and climate solutions, clean rivers, air pollution, and transport.  We run events, lobby MPs and councillors, produce reports and we have strong partnerships across Oxfordshire and with national bodies. We have existed since the 1970s and meet as a group monthly in central Oxford.We are part of the Friends of the Earth global network, working to protect and improve our environment locally and nationally.

Our current Coordinator is taking a break: we’d like to find someone who can commit to offering a few hours most weeks and attending our monthly meetings.

This involves:

· Setting up meetings and managing our monthly mailing

· Working with our Campaigns Officer to develop our campaigns

· Working with our social media officer to develop our engagement

· Working with other volunteers on specific campaigns / projects

· Exploring opportunities for us to gain support

· Maintaining our supporter database and being a point of contact for people interested to know more about the group

· Managing and developing our website

· Supporting event planning and management

The post would suit anyone seeking to develop their organisational skills for a career in voluntary and environmental sectors.  We can offer on-the-job and formal training and support for people wishing to get involved, and can pay travel and related expenses.

Are you a natural organiser who loves bringing people together for a good cause? As a Fundraising Group Leader at Canine Partners, you’ll lead a team of local volunteers to plan and deliver fun, impactful fundraising events in your community. From coffee mornings to dog shows, you’ll help shape the group’s activities, run monthly meetings, and keep everything running smoothly.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is confident, friendly, and ready to make a difference. You’ll be the key link between your group and the Canine Partners fundraising team and will be supported every step of the way with training, resources, and expert guidance.

About the opportunity

This role involves taking on the responsibility for leading a group of fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in your local community. You would host regular group meetings to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

We request that there should be a minimum requirement of one meeting per month, as well as additional planning and activity when required. However, the amount of time you commit depends on the nature of the activities held by the group.

Join the fun as a Fundraising Group Member with Canine Partners! Team up with fellow volunteers in our North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group to help plan and deliver exciting local events that help raise vital funds for amazing assistance dogs. As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community to ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

This role is diverse and allows for you to focus on the areas that you have skills or interests in. The role has flexibility and can work around your other commitments.

Below are some examples of possible activities you can take on or be a part of as a SSAFA Community Engagement Volunteer.

What you will be doing

• Activity Organisers - Love planning? Help coordinate amazing events like charity dinners, carol concerts, and local fairs.
• Event Champions - Be the friendly face of SSAFA! Help at events, chat with visitors, sell merchandise, and spread the word about our work.
• Event Champions - Be the friendly face of SSAFA! Help at events, chat with visitors, sell merchandise, and spread the word about our work.
• Promoting SSAFA Services - Help provide a warm, welcoming presence at Veterans Breakfast clubs, cafes or hubs - offering information about SSAFA services and signposting as appropriate.
• SSAFA Storytellers -Deliver engaging talks to organisations and groups, sharing SSAFA’s incredible history and mission.
• Community Connectors - Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to establish a local network, promote SSAFA's services, and respond to community opportunities such as gardening projects.
• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

The skills you need

• Be friendly and approachable.
• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to events if necessary.
• Basic IT skills would be an advantage.
