UI/UX DEVELOPER

As a Volunteer UI/UX Designer, you will design intuitive and accessible digital experiences that support ZEF's programs and initiatives. You will work closely with project teams to transform ideas into user-friendly interfaces and improve the overall experience of our digital platforms.

Key Deliverables

• Create wireframes, user flows, and user journey maps for assigned projects.
• Design high-fidelity UI mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma (or similar).
• Conduct basic user research and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
• Develop and maintain a consistent design system and reusable components.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Review existing digital products and recommend usability improvements.
• Deliver design assets and documentation within agreed project timelines.

Expected Impact

Your work will help ZEF build accessible, engaging, and user-centered digital solutions that improve the experience of volunteers, beneficiaries, and partners while strengthening the organization's ability to deliver social impact through technology.

The Role

We’re looking for a creative volunteer Graphic Designer to help shape the visual face of the Lyonic Scots. You’ll design materials based on our identity and help us bring our heritage to life and help us connect with audiences worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Design logos, emblems, and digital branding for our global community

• Create digital and print promotional materials — posters, banners, booklets, and social media graphics

• Develop merchandise designs (badges, apparel, and souvenirs)

• Support the creation of event visuals and campaign artwork

• Collaborate with our communications team to ensure brand consistency

What We’re Looking For

• Strong design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools

• A flair for heritage, symbolism, and storytelling through design

Summary of Role:

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will lead Solution Community’s mission by building, improving, and developing the technical systems that power our global, volunteer‑driven organization. Engineers work across both front‑end and back‑end components, participate in technical planning, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver meaningful, user‑centered solutions. Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Applications: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Firebase for backend and React/Next.js for frontend.

• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment across the project lifecycle.

• API Development and Integration: Create and integrate RESTful APIs to connect frontend interfaces to backend services, ensuring smooth, efficient data exchange.

Position Requirements

• Proficiency in Firebase: 5-7 years of strong experience in developing backend applications using Firebase (BaaS) Framework, with a solid understanding of Functions, Auth, Storage, Security Rules and Hosting services.

• Expertise in: React and Next.js, in-depth knowledge of React and Next.js for building dynamic and responsive frontend interfaces, with a focus on server-side rendering and static site generation.

• Full Stack Development: Proven ability to work across the entire stack, from designing and implementing backend services to creating interactive and user-friendly frontend applications.

• Version Control and Collaboration: Experience with Git and GitHub/GitLab for version control, with a collaborative approach to working in a team environment.

• Database Management: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience in designing efficient database schemas, writing complex queries, and optimizing database performance.

• UI/UX Principles: Understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to translate design mockups into functional and aesthetically pleasing web interfaces.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and deliver iterative improvements.
