Venue manager volunteer roles in Glasgow

Are you an enthusiastic organiser with a flair for bringing people together? TVS is a small charity working with rural schools in South Africa to empower vulnerable young people through education. We are recruiting a team of volunteers and are searching for a volunteer events organiser to help plan and deliver fundraising events that will make a real difference for our beneficiaries.

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including securing venues, managing budgets, recruiting volunteers, and promoting events, while cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholders to maximize income. We would expect you to start small but build up to the creation of a sustainable funding stream on which the charity can rely.

We are a UK registered youth development charity that uses teaching and learning to skateboard in a structured and supportive environment as a platform to develop the skills and abilities of children and young people.

The Role: Chapter Leader

As a Chapter Leader with the Skateboarding Foundation (SF), your role is to set up and run a Local Chapter that gives young people access to skateboarding and life skills through the SF ‘Eduskate’ programme.

Training, materials, resources, equipment and ongoing support, advice and guidance will be provided.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

• Setting up and running the chapter
• Recruiting coaches
• Recruiting learners
• Coordinating the delivery of the coaching programme
• Raising funds and spreading the word
• Helping us monitor and evaluate the programme
• Giving three/four hours a month of your time

You’ll have overall responsibility for the chapter’s activities, compliance, and smooth running. You’ll provide direction and support to your chapter committee, chair meetings, and ensure volunteers, coaching programmes, and fundraising are well managed.

The role involves motivating the team, planning chapter development, and stepping in where needed to keep things on track. You’ll also liaise with the national Board of Trustees, keeping them informed of key decisions and changes. 

Strong leadership, organisation, and a passion for youth development (and ideally skateboarding) and the charity’s mission are essential.

The Lyonic Scots Clan Society is a modern Scottish cultural organisation inspired by the legacy of Robert “The Lyon” and the survivors of Culloden. We celebrate Scottish heritage, Highland identity, and the enduring spirit of courage, kinship, and belonging.

As we continue to grow across the UK and internationally, we are seeking enthusiastic Volunteer Events Organisers to help us plan and deliver a number of small cultural events throughout the year. Whether you want to organise one event or several, your contribution will help bring the Clan together and strengthen our community.

About the Role

Events are at the heart of any clan society — moments where heritage comes alive, friendships are formed, and community is strengthened. We are looking for volunteers who can help plan, coordinate, and deliver small‑scale gatherings such as:

• Cultural meet‑ups

• Heritage talks or workshops

• Social gatherings

• Online events

• Local clan meet‑and‑greets

• Seasonal celebrations

You can take on one event, a few, or support the full calendar — whatever suits your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organise small events (online or in‑person)

• Coordinate logistics such as venue, timings, and materials

• Communicate with attendees and the Council

• Ensure events run smoothly and reflect the dignity and heritage of the Clan

• Work with other volunteers when needed

• Share ideas for new cultural or community‑building activities
