We are looking for a skilled volunteer Front End WordPress developer to join our team of volunteer designers, developers and copywriters to recreate and redesign our existing website.

This is a remote role and the successful candidate will be working closely with the designer, backend developer and stakeholders to redesign the charity website according to Figma designs and accessibility standards.

About the role: 
 
We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.

Our partner is an international development charity working across sub-Saharan Africa to support people with limb loss through access to prosthetic services, peer support, and sustainable locally led programmes.

The Treasurer will work with the Board, Director and a part time accountant to oversee the charity’s financial management and governance. Responsibilities include reviewing management accounts and budgets, supporting the preparation of annual financial statements, chairing the Finance Committee, and advising the Board on financial strategy and risk.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with senior experience in finance, audit or accountancy. You will be comfortable operating at board level, able to explain financial information clearly to non financial trustees, and motivated by values led work in international development.

This role involves a time commitment of around 20 to 30 hours per year, including quarterly online Board and Finance Committee meetings.

communication disability that can affect a person’s ability to speak, understand, read, or
write, often caused by stroke or brain injury. Our local support groups offer a safe,

Role Overview
We are seeking a volunteer marketing expert to help design and deliver creative
marketing strategies that strengthen our fundraising campaigns. Your expertise will help
us reach new supporters, increase donations, and grow our impact.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in marketing, digital campaigns, brand
strategy, or fundraising communications who wants to apply their skills to a
meaningful cause.

The Discord Moderator supports the safe, welcoming, and positive running of a Discord community. Moderators help guide discussions, uphold community guidelines, support members, and assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the server. This role helps create an inclusive environment where members feel comfortable participating and engaging with others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor Discord channels to ensure conversations remain respectful, safe, and aligned with community guidelines.

• Respond to member questions and provide general support or signposting to appropriate resources or channels.

• Welcome new members and help them understand server rules, structure, and available resources.

• Address inappropriate behaviour by following moderation procedures, which may include issuing reminders, warnings, or escalating concerns to senior staff or lead moderators.

• Help de-escalate conflicts and maintain a positive and supportive community atmosphere.

• Support community engagement by encouraging discussion, highlighting useful content, or helping to facilitate events or activities where appropriate.

• Report safeguarding, wellbeing, or rule concerns to the appropriate team member.

• Assist with general server upkeep, such as managing channels, roles, or pinned information where required.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm, fair, and professional when managing disagreements or sensitive situations.

• Good understanding of online community safety and respectful communication.

• Confidence using Discord, including moderation tools and features (or willingness to learn).

The role focuses on peer support, shared experience, and gentle co-facilitation, rather than leading or moderating the group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend scheduled video peer support group sessions alongside a lead peer supporter.

• Support the facilitation of group discussions by encouraging participation and helping conversations flow naturally.

• Help create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where participants feel safe to share.

• Offer empathetic peer support and appropriate contributions based on lived experience, where relevant.

• Provide light technical support during sessions where needed (for example, helping participants with audio, video, or platform features).

• Support group structure by helping to keep discussions aligned with the session topic and time boundaries.

• Raise any wellbeing, safeguarding, or technical concerns to the lead peer supporter or staff member as appropriate.

What We Are Looking For:

• Good listening and communication skills.

• A calm, supportive, and non-judgemental approach.

• Confidence using video meeting platforms (such as Zoom/Google Meet or similar), or willingness to learn.

• An interest in supporting Autistic parents .

• Lived experience of being an Autistic Parent .

• Reliability and ability to work collaboratively with a lead peer supporter.

Support and Matching:
You will be supported by a lead peer supporter during sessions, with training, guidance, and ongoing support provided. We aim to match volunteers with group topics that align with their interests and experiences wherever possible. Groups include EHCP's and Working with professionals, Parenting Teens, 0-5's. We are particularly keen to hear from people who would be able to support a group for those who identify as "Dad's and Father's"

This is a flexible, remote volunteering opportunity. Volunteers are asked to attend agreed video sessions, with regular or occasional commitment discussed in advance. Expected time commitment 1-2 hours a month.

Full training and support will be given. Regular oppourtunities for reflection with our Volunteer Coordinator 

Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) is a small, independent rare disease charity competing for essential resources within an extremely competitive arena.

Like many other small charities, we have grown organically from an informal support group to the recognised voice for leukodystrophy patients and their families. In order to fulfil our charitable objectives we need to increase and sustain our corporate income levels.

Our Talk and Support team is setting up a weekly Monday morning group for people who are interested in art. In the role of facilitator, you will:

• Facilitate group discussion eg by sharing work in progress, exhibitions visited or interesting art discussions on podcasts;
• Help participants feel comfortable and able to join in group discussions;
• Look after participant welfare within the group and flag any welfare or safeguarding concerns with the Talk and Support team for follow up.

Do you enjoy public speaking? Do you want to share the message of who Mencap are, what we do and bust some myths to groups and corporates around learning disabilities? If the answer is yes, then our Mencap Volunteer Speaker role could be for you!

We’re looking for confident public speakers to represent Mencap by delivering Lunch and Learn talks. You’ll be fully supported with training, guidance, and a prepared presentation and script. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging sessions either in person or virtually via Teams, reaching a wide range of groups and organisations.

Frequently you'll be co-delivering these talks with people with a learning disability, so you'll hear first hand their stories and the impact you'll make.

For this role you will need access to your own laptop.

We want to spread the message of who Mencap are and the amazing work we do, so as well as attending lunch and learns requested by our current corporates, we're looking for volunteers who will as part of the role, proactively; research, reach out and contact local groups (e.g: Rotary Clubs, Women's Institutes) and share our lunch and learn presentation with them.

The role also gives you the opportunity to attend cheque presentations and act as a representative for Mencap at supporter’s fundraising activities.
