We are looking for volunteer befrienders to spend some time with our clients in and around Central London or to speak to them over the phone. Befriending is a simple way to make a positive difference to someone who feels alone, or is socially isolated. Your gift of time and companionship will give them, and you, something to look forward to. As one of our volunteers once said,“this is an easy, very meaningful way to help someone and is immensely rewarding and fun!”
Meetings are regular, usually weekly or fortnightly, for at least six months although most of our volunteers stay involved for longer, only because they enjoy what they do! Phone calls can me made from any quiet space at your home or workplace.
You might visit a client in their home, or meet them in the community, chatting in coffee shops or talking while you walk - this really depends on what our client wants to do. Our clients are older Scots (60 plus) who simply want to do some of the activities that most of us take for granted.
We provide training before you start, ongoing support once you are matched, out of pocket expenses, references, social events and newsletters.
This could be an ideal opportunity gain practical experience of working with adults in a health and social care setting, or for anyonewho enjoys meeting new people and making their lives a little brighter.
Please note, this is an unpaid voluntary role and applicants must live in or around the London area for meetings, or in the UK for phone calls.

Giant Football Community Walk
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 3 to 5 hours per week
The Giant Football Community Walk is looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to help promote our 2026 event and engage with football supporters, clubs, foundations and supporter groups across the North West.
The event will bring together supporters from across the football pyramid for a 42km or 21km community walking challenge. Participants will represent their clubs, raise money for good causes and celebrate the positive role football plays within local communities.

HIRING FOR A SHORT-TERM ROLE IN PLANNING AND DELIVERING NEURODIVERSITY AWARENESS EVENTS IN LONDON UNIVERSITIES. SUITABLE FOR THOSE REQUIRING REFERENCES FOR FUTURE ROLES WITHIN A 4 MONTH TIMELINE OF HIRING.
M2 SPED Awareness is seeking 2 Volunteer Neurodiversity Awareness Event Intern-London to use their experience of public speaking and event co-ordination to co-plan and deliver 2 neurodiversity awareness university street clinics in London, with a view to inform about reasonable adjustments and signpost potential attendees to relevant support services, gain new contacts for our charity mailing list and gather small-scale donations for the charity.
Your delivery of the 2 events will contribute to making a difference to neurodivergent individuals in a higher education setting as well as helping the charity to grow its communication and support database with the attendees you meet.
The Neurodiversity Awareness Events will take place in-person for 1 hour 30 minutes each in a London University based on Team-based choice at a date and time that works best for all participating in co-delivering the event. In addition, you will also take part in leaflet distribution in a London area of your choice for 1 hour in November.

There are 3 training opportunities in September on different neurodivergent groups in higher education to keep your knowledge up to date on neurodiversity and equipped for the events in the role.

(i) Training: Attend Online training events on Neurodiversity during August and September
(ii) Neurodiversity Awareness Event Planning Meeting: Attend Online meetings to plan for the Neurodiversity Awareness Event (University Street Clinics) a month in advance in September and October
(iii) Neurodiversity Awareness Event Co-Delivery: In-Person Event- Co-deliver a 1 hour 30-minute Neurodiversity Awareness University Street Clinic in a London University of team-based choice in October and November
(iv) Marketing Team Liaison: Online meet with a member of the marketing team to plan a targeted approach to advertising the Neurodiversity Awareness Event, as well as provide them any photographic material as required [with consent gathered from the events]. For Successful Candidate #1 this will take place in October. For Successful Candidate #2 this will take place in November.
(v) Leaflet Distribution Event Planning Meeting: Attend an Online meeting to plan for the Leaflet Distribution Event a month in advance in October
(vi) Leaflet Distribution Event: In-person event. In an area of personal choice, distribute a set of leaflets door to door in November

We are currently seeking welcoming and highly organized volunteers to join our New Member Team.
Role Overview The New Member Team is responsible for the successful onboarding of all incoming volunteers. You are the bridge between a candidate signing their MOU and becoming an active, contributing member of the IHF family. Your mission is to ensure every new member feels informed, prepared, and ready to start their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding Coordination: Send "Welcome Packages" and orientation materials to all cleared volunteers.
Initial Orientation: Guide new members through their first steps, including setting up internal communication tools and accessing training manuals.
Team Integration: Ensure new members are correctly introduced to their respective Team Leads and added to the appropriate department channels.
Data Entry: Update the global master database with new member details, start dates, and contact information.
First-Week Support: Act as the primary point of contact for "Newbie" questions during their first 7 days of service.
Ideal Candidate:
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple onboarding tracks simultaneously.
Patient and supportive (able to explain processes clearly to people from diverse backgrounds).
Comfortable using Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and digital communication platforms.
Interested in HR, Onboarding, or Training & Development.

Role Overview The Interview Team serves as the "Gatekeepers" of IHF. You are the first point of human contact for global applicants. Your role is to conduct professional screenings, assess cultural alignment, and identify future leaders who will contribute to our mission in Kenya, Thailand, Indonesia, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Interviews: Lead 1-on-1 video or voice interviews with international applicants.
Evaluate Talent: Use standardized rubrics to assess skills, commitment levels, and alignment with IHF's non-hierarchical values.
Critical Reporting: Write concise, objective summaries and recommendations for the HR Executive and Center Leads.
Maintain Pipeline: Ensure interview slots are filled and candidates move through the recruitment funnel without delay.
Professional Representation: Act as the face of IHF, providing a welcoming yet professional first impression.
Ideal Candidate:
Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
Ability to remain neutral and objective while evaluating diverse personalities.
High level of emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
Reliable and punctual (managing appointments across various time zones).
Experience in HR, Psychology, Communications, or Management is a plus.
