What we're looking for: A friendly face to welcome visitors and animals to our rescue centre in Whitminster, answering their questions, and directing them to the appropriate member of staff. You will also help make sure the Teckels shop is well stocked, clean and tidy, and looks its best.
This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, able to deal with a wide range of people visiting in person or over the phone. An eye for detail is helpful for processing admin and making bookings.
Our rescue centre can get very busy, so it is important you are comfortable working in a fast paced environment and have the ability to multi task. You may be the first person someone meets at Teckels, so you will need to be polite, helpful, understanding and discreet, able to handle sensitive situations.
When you can help: We are looking for Welcome Volunteers on a Wednesday and Sunday afternoon, and all day Saturday

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary rescues horses and ponies that have been abandoned, neglected or abused.
Together with our supporters, we ensure that horses and ponies have a sanctuary for life. Most horses and ponies are given care for life through our network of knowledgeable carers. Those horses and ponies with more complex needs are cared for in our peaceful sanctuaries.
Our charity was founded on the principles that horses and ponies, as sentient beings, and close companions of people over the centuries, have a value and a purpose. They deserve our kindness and care.

- Role Purpose:
Help grow the sanctuary's network of supporters by building relationships with businesses, brands, media, influencers, and community organizations to increase awareness, secure donations, sponsorships, and create partnership opportunities that support dog rescue and adoption efforts.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential corporate partners, sponsors, and donors
- Reach out to local and international businesses
- Develop sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
- Build relationships with pet brands, retailers, and service providers
- Contact influencers, creators, and media outlets
- Seek in-kind donations (food, supplies, veterinary support, transport, etc.)
- Promote adoption campaigns through partnerships
- Maintain a database of contacts and opportunities
- Represent the sanctuary professionally in external communications
Ideal Skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience in sales, fundraising, partnerships, PR, marketing, or business development is a plus
- Comfortable with email outreach and networking
- Passion for animal welfare
- Self-motivated and organized
By helping secure partnerships and sponsorships, you will directly support the care of rescue dogs, increase adoption opportunities, and help the sanctuary reach more supporters worldwide.
