Help shape the next chapter of one of the world's leading international theatre academies.  As our current Chair and two long-serving Trustees step down in Spring 2027, we are seeking a new Chair to lead the Board into BADA’s next chapter, and up to three new Trustees to bring fresh skills and perspectives. You will share our passion for theatre and education, and our commitment to equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusion.

The Chair. You will bring a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of a charity board, and the confidence to lead one. Previous experience of chairing is strongly desirable, alongside experience as a trustee or non-executive director. The role is supported by a Deputy Chair appointed from among the current Trustees.

Trustees. Following a review of the Board’s skills, we would particularly welcome experience in one or more of the following areas:

▪ Governance and risk — charity board experience, ideally in education or the arts

▪ Law — charity, education or employment law; cross-border UK/US contracting and data protection useful

▪ International higher education — conservatory training and/or study-abroad programmes

▪ Equity, diversity and inclusion — a demonstrable record of advancing EDI

▪ Safeguarding and student welfare — school safeguarding, or student experience, health and wellbeing

We would also be delighted to hear from professional actors and performers, including BADA alumni.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before. Previous board experience is helpful but not essential. New Trustees receive a full induction, a “buddy” pairing with an experienced Trustee, and opportunities for governance training.
