What will you be doing?

You will join a team helping to launch and promote the E‑Save climate‑action app and improving its content and user experience. 

By supporting creative campaigns, you will also help the team raise the profile of Eco Centre, and support local outreach initiatives, volunteer recruitment and communications, and stakeholder engagement. 

Your work will help people discover and use the app to take practical climate action at home.

What are we looking for?

We are building a team with a range of skills and experience who can provide hands on help on regular basis and be responsive to changing needs.

We’re looking for volunteers with skills in writing, design, graphics video, social media, campaigning, web content, or marketing. Whether you’re experienced or building your portfolio, we welcome creative, proactive team players who can bring ideas, collaborate well, and help us communicate climate action in engaging and accessible ways.

You’ll need strong organisational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of safeguarding and data protection, and the ability to support a diverse, remote volunteer team.

Volunteer with CAT’s Maintenance Team and gain skills as you help care for CAT’s unique site, our green buildings, and our off-grid sustainable energy systems.

What will you be doing?

As a Maintenance Volunteer you will help to maintain and improve CAT’s unique site. Built on the site of a disused Welsh quarry by a group of inspired volunteers, CAT’s site has a rich and fascinating past. For more than 50 years, CAT has been a place of experimentation, inspiration and learning, where sustainability is embedded into the buildings and landscape.

As a Maintenance Volunteer, you will join the Estates team in caring for and making improvements to the buildings, pathways and infrastructure that are used by staff, students and visitors.

This is a practical role, so previous experience and confidence using a variety of general-purpose tools is desirable. Training and direction will be provided within the Estates Team but a volunteer in this role will need to be proactive and be able to work as part of a volunteer team with minimal staff supervision. This is a perfect role for someone looking to gain practical experience and to build confidence as part of a busy team.

Key elements of the role:

- Open to long term residential volunteers only.

- Support the Estates team with maintenance and repair jobs around site in all weathers. These could include repairs to buildings, routine maintenance such as gutter clearance, monitoring CAT’s off-grid systems and general DIY tasks - Tasks will be uncomplicated and training will be provided.

- Work independently and part of a team on practical tasks.

- Preparation and clear down for practical short courses, Graduate School workshops and events.

- Organise and maintain tools and materials for use across site.

- Support CAT’s Estates team to care for CAT’s unique site.

We’re looking for people who:

- Would like to gain experience working as part of a practical maintenance team.

- Enjoy volunteering and working alongside others

- Have some practical experience and confidence using a variety of general-purpose tools and maintenance processes.

Role Summary
Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative is seeking a skilled Remote Public Relations, Communications & Media Volunteer to strengthen our global visibility and support our communications strategy. Working entirely online, you will develop compelling content, support media relations, identify publicity opportunities, and help communicate the impact of our programmes to diverse audiences.

• Develop and implement digital communication and public relations activities remotely.

Mental Health Program Officer

Role Summary

Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative is seeking an experienced Remote Mental Health Program Officer to lead and strengthen our Kyogere ("Say It Out") Mental Health Program. This leadership volunteer role is ideal for a mental health professional who is passionate about advancing community mental health, reducing stigma, and supporting youth wellbeing in underserved communities.
Working remotely, you will provide strategic and technical leadership to our mental health programme, helping design impactful initiatives, guide awareness campaigns, strengthen partnerships, and support the development of community-based mental health interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Kyogere Mental Health Program.
• Provide technical guidance on mental health awareness, psychosocial support, and community engagement initiatives.

FareShare Greater Manchester is looking for safe, confident drivers to join our busy, friendly delivery team. 

We re-distribute tonnes of surplus food a month to charities and community initiatives across Greater Manchester. This is an achievement of which we’re proud, and want to expand and is why we need your driving and delivery skills to support our growing operation, especially in these current times of increased need.

Key responsibilities

Driving a van to deliver surplus food orders to the premises of the various Community Food Members we support. 
Loading and unloading the vehicle and carrying out a range of tasks, from basic vehicle checks to delivery administration.

As a Delivery Driver at FareShare, you will be driving a temperature-controlled 3.5 tonnes Mercedes Sprinter van; working closely with a Driver’s Assistant to re-distribute food orders to the premises of a wide variety of Community Food Members. You will be involved with loading the vehicle and carrying out a range of tasks, from basic vehicle checks to delivery administration.

The required skills and attributes are as follows. You must:

Be aged 25 or over, with a clean driver's licence (or a maximum of 3 points).
(Experience of driving a van is desirable though not essential).

Be reliable and be able to commit to pre-agreed volunteer shifts.

Be physically fit to take on moving and handling of food orders.

Possess the ability to follow procedures and instructions.

Have good verbal communication skills.

Have a high respect for Health & Safety standards and procedures.

Have an interest in the work of FareShare Greater Manchester and our values.
