They are seeking a Treasurer to join the Board. Candidates should be finance professionals with a relevant qualification and experience. You should bring strong financial management expertise, an understanding of governance and risk, and the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance colleagues.

As Treasurer and Trustee, you will chair the Board’s Safeguarding, Risk and Finance Committee, monitor financial administration and report on the organisation’s financial health, advise on financial strategy and reserves policy, oversee budgets, management accounts and audited financial statements, and liaise with the external auditors. You will also play a full part in the wider governance of the charity, contributing to strategic discussions and supporting the senior leadership team.

The Board meets quarterly (virtually, with one in-person meeting per year) and Trustees are expected to devote around 1–2 days per month to their duties.

Our partner is works to reduce poverty in Zambia by helping vulnerable children and young people access education, develop skills, and build better future - through training, health education, and community initiatives.

Amid a period of significant change, the charity is moving to a locally led delivery model, with the UK focusing on fundraising, governance, and reporting. They seek a qualified accountant with strategic financial management experience, charity accounting knowledge, and ideally some international development insight. The Treasurer will provide hands-on financial oversight, ensure robust controls, and maintain compliance.

The role includes chairing a Finance & Operations Sub-Committee, guiding the Board on financial matters, and working with trustees, outsourced providers, and the team in Zambia.

The Board meets quarterly (remotely) for up to three hours, with the Sub-Committee meeting beforehand. The estimated time commitment required is 4 hours per week, flexibly.

We are seeking a new Chair to join Age International and help us drive towards our vision of a world where every older person is included and valued. 

Our world is ageing rapidly, and yet ageism means older people’s needs and contributions are too often overlooked. Age International supports and promotes the rights of older people in low- and middle-income countries, through long-term programmes, humanitarian responses and advocacy.

We are the international arm of the Age UK Group, the UK member of the HelpAge International global network, and a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) – the only member focussed on supporting older people through crises, from Ukraine to Gaza, Afghanistan to Myanmar.

We drive change in UK policy through influencing and campaigning focused on older people’s health, income security, humanitarian inclusion and rights. For example, we are calling for the UK Government to support a new United Nations Convention on the rights of older persons. Our turnover in the last financial year was £21m.

We are looking for a strategically focused leader with experience as a Chair, or Trustee, and an understanding of the UK international development / humanitarian sector, who will work with the CEO on direction setting, income generation and profile raising. Candidates should be qualified or part-qualified accountants with strong financial management and strategic skills, and a genuine interest in climate action and sustainability. Prior charity experience is helpful but not essential.

As Finance Trustee, you will help ensure effective financial oversight, compliance and risk management; advise the Board and senior team on financial strategy and sustainability; support audit preparation; and liaise with the Finance Manager and external auditors. You will also contribute more broadly to governance and strategic decision-making as the organisation continues to expand across the UK and Europe.

The Board meets quarterly (three online and one in-person meeting in London each year). Trustees are expected to commit around 1-2 days per month, including occasional ad-hoc support to the COO or Finance Manager.

The Treasurer will oversee financial health, advise on strategic plans, review budgets and accounts, ensure compliance, and liaise with auditors. They will work closely with the Finance Director, Chief Executive, and Board to ensure sustainability and good governance.

We are seeking enthusiastic, innovative volunteer teachers who are passionate about education, youth development and equity to join our 25-26 cohort. Food and housing expenses are covered. We currently serve hundreds of students across our partner school, Santa Monica Bilingual School, in northern Honduras. You will be joining a network of hundreds of alumni who have supported this important work for nearly 20 years. Our signature teaching program includes  ear-long teacher training and year-long professional development opportunities that highlights the important current and historical context in which we are teaching and learning from our students and the communities in which we live. At a high level, each volunteer teacher is responsible for: leading an English curriculum for students in grades PreK-9 in ELA, Science, Math, Art, PE and Computers (all classes are capped at 25 students, and most teachers take on one full curriculum for a grade level) supporting fellow teachers in the classroom, getting to know your students and their families, and immersing oneself in Honduran culture. Don’t worry - we’ll be there to support you with every step along the way! 

REQUIRED DUTIES:

• Facilitate relationships with students’ parents and other community members 

• Plan lessons and teach in English (all subjects with the exception of Social Studies and Spanish)

• Foster a safe and productive classroom environment for students 

• Serve as a Lunch/Recess monitor

The Great Britain - China Centre (GBCC) is a public body under the auspices of, but independent from, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). GBCC works to support a robust and effective UK relationship with China which furthers the UK’s national interests, and to facilitate bilateral dialogue and exchanges. Working in close partnership with HMG and other UK institutions including parliament, the political parties, the judiciary and the legal profession, academia and business, GBCC occupies a niche role creating diverse entry points for UK-China dialogue on bilateral as well as global questions.

In operation since 1974, GBCC has established unique networks in China, the UK and globally. Our relationships and influence have provided trusted and consistent mechanisms for exchange throughout changing political climates. 

The Board of Directors comprises independent non-executives, including Members of Parliament, and is attended by representatives of the FCDO and the British Council. GBCC’s Chair is Isabel Hilton OBE, and the Honorary President is Sir David Lidington. The Board meets in London four times a year, and there is a number of sub-committees in which directors are expected to participate. GBCC’s directors are also expected to commit time outside the formal Board commitment to use their expertise to assist the Chair and the executive team in achieving GBCC’s strategic and operational goals. Board members are expected to spend approximately two days per month on GBCC business. 

GBCC now seeks to strengthen its Board and would welcome applications from those with a keen interest in, and experience and knowledge of, China. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: audit and financial management; fundraising and income generation; legal and governance expertise and the implications of digital and tech advances for our work.

Rising Capacities for Children Africa (RICCA)

Rising Capacities for Children Africa (RICCA) tackles child poverty in rural Kenya, especially in Kirinyaga County, by creating inclusive, child-friendly learning environments. Through the Ricca Afterschool Center, children aged 6–17 access personalized support, mentorship, and engaging programs in arts, sports, agriculture, and digital literacy. These activities foster academic success, creativity, social skills, and life competencies while making learning fun and accessible. RICCA also works with schools to improve teacher quality, infrastructure, and resources, and engages parents in the process. By bridging rural–urban gaps and promoting intercultural dialogue, RICCA empowers communities, protects children’s rights, and breaks cycles of poverty through education.

Climate Adaptation Curriculum Design Specialist
About Us
RICCA is a community-rooted NGO in rural Kenya working to empower underserved children through education and skills development. We are launching a climate adaptation after-school program that combines foundational learning with practical, hands-on approaches to help children (ages 6–14) understand and respond to climate challenges while building resilience in their communities.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Curriculum Design Specialist (Volunteer) to refine and transform our existing climate adaptation framework into a structured curriculum. The curriculum will be delivered in an after-school setting, during weekends, and on holidays at our community farm in rural Kenya. The goal is to create engaging, age-appropriate modules that inspire children to become climate change champions while gaining practical skills in sustainable agriculture, smart farming, value addition, and entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and refine our current climate adaptation framework into a structured after-school curriculum.
• Develop engaging modules and sessions for children (6–14 years) on topics such as:
  • Climate change awareness and challenges in rural communities
  • Smart farming and sustainable agriculture practices
  • Value addition and entrepreneurship for young learners
  • Hands-on environmental stewardship activities (farm-based learning, eco-projects, etc.)
• Design fun, interactive learning methods that combine play, creativity, and practical activities.
• Ensure the curriculum builds children’s knowledge, skills, and leadership to act as climate champions in their communities.
• Provide recommendations for facilitator training and curriculum implementation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Background in Education, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, Curriculum Development, Child Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, especially for children programs.
• Strong knowledge of climate adaptation, smart farming, or sustainable farming.
• Creativity in developing interactive and age-appropriate modules.
• Previous experience working with curriculum for children in rural or underserved contexts is an advantage.

CAFOD Advisor

Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)

Role

Committee member, providing expert fundraising input to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board on such governance matters. The remit of the SPC encompasses CAFOD’s programmatic work, covering both CAFOD’s international activities and the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.

Person

• Total alignment with goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD, including its Catholic values
• Experience working within the charity sector with knowledge of multiple income streams
• Knowledge of fundraising for international causes would be advantageous
• Experience in multiple income portfolio management, particularly fundraising from the public
•  Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator best practice/Chartered Institute of Fundraising
• An understanding of fundraising in a faith context
• Good committee skills - team player, independent thinker, listening and contributing constructively
• Good communicator

Time commitment

• Four half-day meetings a year, currently two at Romero House, London and two online

Help children across Latin America improve their English while you build real teaching English online skills. We provide full induction and ongoing support. No prior teaching experience required.

Curriculum Design Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking a Curriculum Specialist (Volunteer) to support the development of our existing after-school curriculum framework into a structured curriculum. This role will be critical in designing an engaging, child-centered curriculum that fosters literacy, numeracy, and life skills in innovative and enjoyable ways.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and structure an after-school curriculum targeting foundational skills (literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving).
• Incorporate fun, engaging, and culturally relevant learning methods suitable for children in rural settings.
• Work with our team to integrate play-based learning, creative arts, and interactive activities that promote critical thinking and confidence.
• Support training of facilitators and provide guidance on curriculum implementation.
• Develop learning materials and frameworks that can be easily adapted by community educators.

Qualifications & Skills

• Background in Project Led-Education, Alternative Experiential Learning Curriculum Development, Child Development, or a related field.
• Experience in developing or adapting learning programs for underserved or marginalized communities.
• Strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy instructional strategies.
• Creativity in integrating interactive and engaging approaches to learning like play based learning, Social Emotional Learning etc.
• Experience working with rural or resource-constrained environments is an added advantage.
