Short Term and Long Term Opportunities Available with lots of flexibility to fit around your time, including evenings and weekends and some home-based volunteering.

Eastside Youth is a new grassroots youth charity taking a fresh approach to working with young people by providing interactive, fun and engaging activities and programmes while also providing the much needed support to the varied and diverse youth communities of East London, where we aim to ensure that Youth Work really does change young people’s lives, helping young people become confident, informed and empowered to be proud of who they are as unique individuals and in providing transformative youth work that helps change young lives for the better.

Eastside Youth has some brand-new and very exciting opportunities coming soon and we are expanding rapidly with a new base, new projects across East London and new partnerships in the pipeline as the demand and need for our work is ever increasing, but we can’t meet this demand and achieve our goals of filling gaps in service provision without your time, help and support.

We have some exciting and amazing volunteering opportunities for someone who is interested in taking up the challenge of being one of our first Youth Workers, where you organise and lead on youth work activities either short term or long term youth work activities or events, you will plan, organise and facilitate activities and sessions for young people, provide 1-2-1 support and also promote the health and wellbeing of our young people attending. You will also promote go out into the community and promote opportunities to young people and also see what types of programmes young people would like to get involved in.

We are looking for people with a passion for working with young people/youth work, confident and solution focused, who is self-motivated, able to turn up on time and is hands on and able to get things done, while being very organised with excellent communication and presentation skills.


  • Availability in the following East London boroughs (City, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering) during evenings (6-9pm) or weekend daytimes (anywhere between 10am and 5pm).
  • Great flexibility to fit around your time, including some home-based working.

Due to the nature of this voluntary role you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS Police Check before starting the voluntary position and this will be done through Eastside Youth if you do not currently hold a DBS.
