It can affect people of any age, with the vulnerable being most at risk - including people living with long-term illness or disability. It’s time to change this.
We are the Sunshine Charity, a new startup charity aiming to fight the battle against loneliness and social isolation. We want to be the sunshine in the lives of those who need it, no matter who they are or where they’re going.

Our Story:
Our Founder, saw the devastating impact of loneliness in his community based social work, including devastating increase in suicides. And he also saw first-hand how difficult it is to get support for those feeling lonely - including his own sister, who has disabilities.
Work started on Sunshine Charity in late 2019 - ready to bring socialising, support and, dare we say it, fun so desperately needed in people’s lives.

The Role:
We’re recruiting an experienced HR Volunteer for the position of HR Manager (London) who will lead on the set-up, development and running of day to day HR aspects at Sunshine Charity, ensuring we are a 'Good Practice' charity. This includes leading on the recruitment of staff and volunteers, writing policies and procesures, creating and implimenting HR systems and processes, as well as dealing with day to day HR issues while supervising a small team of volunteers.

We are now seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and lead on the set-up, development, and management of all financial aspects at SUNSHINE. This is a pivotal role ensuring our charity is financially sustainable, well-governed, and equipped to grow its impact across London.

What You’ll Do
Lead financial management: Establish and oversee systems, controls, and reporting for SUNSHINE’s finances.

Ensure compliance: Oversee budgets, accounts, and statutory obligations, ensuring SUNSHINE meets charity governance standards.
Support sustainability: Help identify funding opportunities and ensure resources are used effectively.
Champion transparency: Build confidence among stakeholders by ensuring clear, accurate financial reporting.

What You’ll Create
We’re especially looking for support with these initial designs:
Roller Banners – to take to events and showcase SUNSHINE.
Social Media Posts – promoting SUNSHINE, our programmes, our volunteer opportunities, and fundraising needs.
Business Stationery – letterhead, compliment slip, business cards, appointment card.
Leaflet (business card size) – a pocket-sized introduction to SUNSHINE.
Info and Motion Graphics – to promote SUNSHINE, tell our story and explain our impact in engaging ways.
Brochures – highlighting our mission, programmes, and community stories.
Fundraising Drive Promotionals – vibrant campaigns to inspire giving.

Volunteer: Trusts & Foundations Research & Applications
We are looking for a motivated volunteer to support our Trusts & Foundations team with research and grant writing. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the charitable sector, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop fundraising skills.
Key responsibilities:
Research potential funders and funding opportunities
Assist with writing and preparing grant applications
Support reporting and administration for submitted applications
Time commitment:
Ideally one day per week (flexible to suit your schedule)
Who we’re looking for:
Strong research and writing skills, good attention to detail
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Ideally some understanding or interest in T&F, fundraising, or the charity sector
Previous research experience (academic or professional) is helpful but not essential
