The Role: You Are the Connector

As our Volunteering Officer / Assistant, you won’t just be filling slots on a rota. You will be the architect of our community. You will assist the Volunteering Manager who will head up the volunteering programme but be a key member of that Volunteering Team.

You will bring the SUNSHINE Experience: This means anyone leaving a SUNSHINE interaction regardless if they are a participant, volunteer, carer, support, etc, should be leaving feeling uplifted, positive, happy and excited to spread the SUNSHINE further. 

You will be the one who:

• Ignites Passion: Recruiting, welcoming and onboarding new volunteers who want to make a difference.

• Nurtures Growth: Matching volunteers with roles where they will thrive and shine.

The Role: You Are the Support System

As our L&D Officer, you are a vital part of the team that prepares our volunteers for the frontline. You will work closely with the Manager and Coordinator to make sure our training isn't just "mandatory"—but inspiring, clear, and helpful.

You will help prepare our volunteers for:

• Befriending & Connection: Helping create "Joy Kits" and tip sheets for our befrienders.

• Safeguarding & Safety: Assisting in the creation of easy-to-read guides and visual aids.

• Induction & Onboarding: Being a "Learning Buddy" for new recruits as they navigate their first few training modules.

You will be the one who:

• Creates Engaging Content: Helping design beautiful slides, handouts, and "how-to" videos that make learning a breeze.

• Provides Technical Support: Helping volunteers who might struggle with digital platforms to access their training.

• Gathers Feedback: Chatting with volunteers after sessions to find out what they loved and what we can do better.

• Assists the Workshops: Being a "co-pilot" during live training sessions—managing the chat, breakout rooms, or handing out materials in person.

But to make these events happen, we need a proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic Programme Development Officer.

The Role: You Are the Facilitator

As our Programme Development Officer, you are a vital part of our "Delivery Ray." You will support the Manager and Coordinator in the practical, day-to-day tasks that make our workshops and classes a success.

You will be a key part of our Pilot Programmes:

• Digital Inclusion: Helping set up equipment and assisting participants with their first "click" of connection.

• Coffee Mornings: Helping with venue setup and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and seen.

• Wellbeing & Fitness: Distributing resources, managing sign-in sheets, and supporting our expert facilitators.

You will be the one who:

• Keeps the Engine Running: Assisting with the "nitty-gritty" of event prep—printing materials, confirming bookings, and prepping "joy kits."

• Supports the Team: Providing administrative and hands-on help to ensure our volunteer hosts have everything they need to succeed.

• Captures the Impact: Helping gather simple data—like how many people attended or a quick quote from a guest—so we can show the world how SUNSHINE works.

• Spreads the Word: Helping distribute flyers and digital invites to ensure those who need us most know where to find us.
