We’re looking for Photographer / Filmmaker Volunteers to help us capture the heart of SUNSHINE — our people, our programmes, our impact, and the lived experiences of those facing loneliness.

What You’ll Do

1. Capture SUNSHINE Across London

Head out into the city — parks, streets, markets, neighbourhoods — to capture photos and film clips of loneliness or positive human connection that reflect London’s diversity, energy, and humanity.

2. Document Our Activities

Attend SUNSHINE Programmes and events to photograph or film real moments of connection, joy, courage, and community.

3. Build Our Visual Library

Create a unique, high-quality collection of images and short video clips that we can use across our website, publicity materials, social media, and fundraising campaigns.

4. Tell Human Stories

Help us visually communicate the reality of loneliness — and the hope, positivity, and transformation that SUNSHINE brings.

5. Support Our Digital Presence

Work with our marketing volunteers to produce short clips, reels, TikToks, and social-ready visuals that raise our profile and inspire people to join us.

To make that happen, we need an incredible volunteer team. And to build that team, we need you.

We’re looking for Volunteering Programme Volunteers to help us recruit, onboard, motivate, schedule, and engage volunteers across London — ensuring every SUNSHINE Programme is powered by passionate, positive humans.

What You’ll Do

1. Recruit Volunteers

Reach out across London to find kind, energetic people who want to help reduce loneliness. You’ll help us grow a diverse, vibrant volunteer community.

2. Onboard With Warmth

Welcome new volunteers, guide them through the onboarding process, and help them feel confident, supported, and excited to join the SUNSHINE community/family.

3. Motivate & Engage

Keep volunteers inspired, connected, and valued. You’ll help build a culture of joy, encouragement, and human connection within the volunteer team.

4. Schedule & Coordinate

Support the organisation of volunteer rotas, programme staffing, and activity coverage — ensuring every SUNSHINE Programme has the right people in the right place at the right time.

5. Champion Volunteer Experience

Check in with volunteers, gather feedback, celebrate wins, and help create a volunteer journey that feels uplifting, meaningful, and full of positivity.

Our mission is simple: smash social isolation and loneliness through pure positivity, vibrant events, and bubbly, high-energy human connection.

While our front-line team is hitting the streets with bubble machines and sunshine benches, we need an invisible crew of creative superheroes to build our vibe behind the scenes.

Roles We Are Looking For:

• Graphic Designers: Help us design vibrant social media templates, quote cards, and merch that pop!
• Social Media Storytellers: Help us turn our real-life event photos into joyful, engaging TikToks, Reels, or grid posts.
• Copywriters/Editors: Help us polish our newsletters, volunteer shout-outs, or community stories.

The Commitment:

• Completely Remote: Work from anywhere, anytime.
• Micro-Volunteering: Just 1 to 2 hours a week (or even per month!). We fit entirely around your job, studies, or freelance life.

London is one of the most electric, fast-paced cities on Earth. Yet underneath the noise, it is facing a quiet crisis.

In boroughs like Tower Hamlets, nearly 40% of our neighbors report feeling chronically lonely and isolated. For many adults, urban isolation is a heavy, daily reality.

We are SUNSHINE, and we are here to smash that isolation with pure, unadulterated, radical positivity and human connection!

We are seeking a volunteer who has experience in Marketing and Communications. We need our storyteller, a creative, visually minded, and highly driven volunteer to amplify our voice, build our digital footprint, raise our profile, and help us paint London yellow with positivity and human connection!

What You’ll Do

• Own the Story: Create and lead on our social media content calendar and bring it to life across Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook and others.
• Guard the Vibe: Coordinate with our volunteer graphic designers to ensure all templates, quote cards, and digital assets match our signature high-vibrancy brand identity.
• Drive Engagement: Write punchy, encouraging copy that inspires lonely residents to take the brave step of showing up to our socials, and motivates local creatives to join our behind-the-scenes squad, or our frontline volunteer team.
• Animate the Grid: Turn raw photos and smartphone footage captured by our frontline team at the "SUNSHINE Programmes" into joyful Reels, TikToks, and posts that showcase our real-world impact.

Who We Need

A positive human, passionate about marketing and communications and who wants to help us reduce loneliness through positivity and human connection.

• A Creative Storyteller: You understand social media aesthetics. You know how to make digital content feel urgent, warm, inspiring, and visually engaging.
• An Organised Coordinator: You are comfortable leading a small micro-team of 3–4 creative volunteers, delegating tasks smoothly, and keeping asset production on schedule.
• A Smartphone & Canva Native: You know your way around Instagram Reels, TikTok formatting, and basic Canva layouts, and you love using digital tools to build communities.
• Empathetic & Purpose-Driven: You deeply believe in the power of words and visuals to dismantle the "loneliness stigma" and want to use your creative skills for good.

And now, we’re looking for a Tower Hamlets Community Leader to spearhead our borough-wide programmes, activities, and volunteer mobilisation.

This is your chance to lead a movement that helps isolated residents step out of loneliness and into community, colour, and connection.

What You’ll Lead

1. Champion SUNSHINE in Tower Hamlets

You will be the driving force behind all local activities, programmes, and community engagement that bring SUNSHINE into people’s lives.

2. Build Human Connection

Design, coordinate, and deliver positive, uplifting community activities — from social meetups to creative workshops — that help lonely residents feel seen, valued, and supported.

3. Grow a Local Volunteer Team

Recruit, inspire, and organise a small team of volunteers who will help run SUNSHINE Programmes across the borough.

4. Be the Community Voice

Engage with residents, local groups, community centres, and partner organisations to raise awareness of loneliness, reduce stigma, and invite people into our warm, welcoming spaces.

5. Bring the Borough to Life

Capture stories, moments, and impact from your activities and work with our marketing volunteers to showcase Tower Hamlets as a beacon of positivity.
