The Director of Connection
We are looking for a talented Creative Film Producer or Motion Graphics Artist to create the "face" of our digital presence. You will lead on producing two high-impact, short-form videos (60–90 seconds) that will live on our website, YouTube, and social media platforms to help us expand across London and beyond.
The Projects:
- "This is SUNSHINE": A vibrant, hopeful infomercial explaining our mission, our "rays of sunshine" approach, and how we tackle loneliness.
- "We Need You": A compelling call-to-action version focused on recruitment and support—inspiring Londoners to volunteer, partner, or donate.
Your Impact:
- Concept to Screen: Lead the end-to-end production, from storyboarding and scripting to editing and motion graphics.
- Brand Voice: Infuse our "buzzing energy" into every frame, ensuring the content feels warm, professional, and urgent.
- Digital Reach: Create assets that are optimised for different platforms (Website, YouTube, and 9:16 for Reels/TikTok).
Who You Are:
- A Visual Creator: You have experience in film production, video editing, or motion graphics (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, etc.).
- A Storyteller: You know how to pull at heartstrings while keeping the energy high and positive.
- Self-Starter: You are happy to take our brand guidelines and run with them, producing professional results without a large crew.
- Remote-Ready: You have your own kit and software and are comfortable collaborating virtually.
The Logistics:
- Location: Fully Remote (with access to our high-res brand assets and stock library).

The Architect of our Digital World
As our Founding Digital & IT Lead, you are the guardian of our data and the engine of our efficiency. You won't just be "fixing PCs"—you will be sourcing, building, and managing the entire cloud ecosystem for a city-wide movement.

- System Architect: Source and set up our Cloud CRM and Participant Case Management platforms to ensure our connections are tracked and meaningful.
- Infrastructure Lead: Build and manage our secure Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 environment, including emails and shared drives.
- Security & Safeguarding: Be the lead on Data Protection (GDPR) and technical safeguarding, configuring devices and permissions to keep our participants safe.
- Tech Mentor: Empower our team by leading training sessions and providing "calm-in-the-storm" support for volunteers using our platforms.
- Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our cloud providers, ensuring our tech stack is always "Always On."

The VOLUNTEER Opportunity
We’re looking for a Volunteer Grant Writer who can support us in researching, drafting, and submitting funding applications. London’s loneliness crisis is growing, and SUNSHINE is building a movement to stop it. We are a fast-paced startup charity with a big vision, but every great movement needs a solid foundation. We are looking for a super-organised, proactive Volunteer Office Manager to build our systems from the ground up and keep our mission on track.
The Heart of Operations
This isn't just data entry; it’s about creating the engine room. You will be the CEO’s right-hand person, turning vision into organised reality. You are someone who sees a gap and fills it, sees a mess and organises it, and sees a process and perfects it.
Your Impact:
- System Architect: Set up and manage our remote office infrastructure (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365, CRM, and internal comms).
- Strategic Admin: Support the CEO with high-priority charity duties, from governance filings to stakeholder scheduling.
- Team Harmoniser: Keep our remote team of volunteers on track, ensuring everyone has the tools and information they need to succeed.
- Process Ninja: Create the "How-To" guides for the charity, ensuring that as we scale across London, our quality remains gold-standard.

We brighten the lives of seriously ill children across the UK by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospitals and within the community
Purpose of the role
In this important role, you will be responsible for assessing the eligibility of applicants for our grants and services, in adherence with Variety’s structured grant management approach (guided interviews, weighted scoring and panel review) to maximise impact for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.
You will be required to handle grant applications and supporting information with the utmost confidentiality, following organisational policies to ensure the privacy and security of all sensitive and personal information.
Using our defined eligibility criteria and assessment tools, you will evaluate applications and conduct fair and consistent assessments, making award recommendations to support the decision-making process. You will bring an independent voice, playing a key role in ensuring that decisions are made fairly, equitably and transparently and will be required to support your recommendations with evidence of sound analysis and reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
• Review applications and supporting evidence prepared by the case management team.
• Clarify points with applicants when required (within agreed boundaries).
• Conduct structured, remote assessments (by telephone/video call) to understand need, urgency and likely impact on the child, their family life and communities.
• Establish the baseline for monitoring and evaluation by articulating the impact of the intervention.
• Where applicable, use the weighted assessment tool (base on the eligibility criteria and the Theory of Change) consistently and document clear, impartial rationales to prioritise need.
• Prepare concise, written recommendations aligned to policy, criteria and evidence.
• Attend quarterly Assessor Network meetings, which are a forum for sharing good practice, peer support, news sharing, undertaking essential training and reward and recognition.
Optional, Additional Responsibilities
• Where applicable, support the Impact Monitoring and Evaluation team to undertake post-award follow-up interviews to measure the impact made over time.
• Where applicable and available, represent Variety at events, presentations of awards and through online content.
Adherence to Policy and Quality
• Act as a beacon of good practice in fair grant assessment.
• Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and anti‑bias standards throughout the assessment process.
• Escalate concerns (quality, safeguarding, unusual risk, conflicts of interest) in line with policy.
• Follow process controls and segregation of roles, supporting a robust, auditable trail.
• Participate in induction, refresher training, and calibration sessions to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to Variety’s Code of Conduct.
Time Commitment
• Assessments: the time commitment for these varies and is flexible but we expect you will be spending 4 – 8 hours per month on these, dependent on demand and pool of assessors.
• Assessor Network: hybrid meetings that will last 1.5 – 2 hours and will be held quarterly.
• Training: short modular induction plus periodic refreshers usually rolled into Assessor Network meetings.

• Induction & training: policy, criteria, assessment skills, impact tools, safeguarding, data protection.
• Ongoing support through Programme Manager, Programmes Support Officer and Head of Programmes.
• Expenses: out‑of‑pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Variety’s Expenses Policy.
