Job description

Build the Bridges. Grow the Movement. Bring SUNSHINE to the City.

About SUNSHINE Charity

SUNSHINE is a new, 100% volunteer-powered movement rewriting the story of loneliness and wellbeing in London. We exist to spark joy, nurture belonging, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. Our work is bold, people-powered, and rooted in community spirit—not corporate jargon.

We’re almost ready to launch. Our charity status is imminent, our foundations are strong, and our first pilot programmes are on the horizon.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for our founding Volunteer Strategic Partnerships Manager—a relationship‑driven, opportunity‑spotting, high‑energy connector who can help SUNSHINE build powerful partnerships across London.

If you love bringing people together around a shared mission… If you get excited about unlocking opportunities that help a movement grow… If you want to help businesses, community groups, funders, and local leaders feel inspired to support a joyful, people-powered charity…

…then this role is the external heartbeat of SUNSHINE.

You’ll be our chief connector and partnership architect—building relationships that amplify our mission, strengthen our programmes, and help us reach people who need us most.

What You’ll Lead

  • Partnership Strategy: Develop a simple, human-centred partnership approach that aligns with our mission and values.

  • Relationship Building: Connect with businesses, community organisations, local authorities, funders, and networks who want to champion our work.

  • Collaboration Opportunities: Identify and shape partnerships that support our programmes, campaigns, volunteers, and fundraising efforts.

  • Brand Energy & Visibility: Help create buzz and excitement around SUNSHINE—making us a movement that partners want to be part of.

  • Corporate & Community Engagement: Explore opportunities for sponsorships, in-kind support, co-delivered activities, and community collaborations.

  • Storytelling for Partners: Work closely with our Brand & Communications team to share compelling stories that show why SUNSHINE matters.

  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with Fundraising, Programmes, and Operations leads to ensure partnerships are meaningful, ethical, and impactful.

Ideally, You Will Bring

  • Experience in partnerships, business development, community engagement, fundraising, or stakeholder management.

  • A natural ability to build rapport, trust, and enthusiasm.

  • Confidence in reaching out, pitching ideas, and nurturing relationships.

  • Creativity, energy, and a love for connecting people and opportunities.

  • A genuine passion for tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing in our communities.

Commitment & Flexibility

This is a voluntary role with no fixed hours. We understand life comes first—your time and energy are gifts, and we’ll always work around your schedule. You can step back or stop volunteering at any time.

Interested?

If you’re excited by the idea of helping build a joyful, people-powered movement from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch and we’ll send you a short application form.

This is your chance to leave a real fingerprint heart on the future of SUNSHINE.

Ready to Build Something Beautiful?

If you’re excited by the idea of helping launch a charity that puts warmth, belonging, and human connection at its core, we’d love to meet you.
