The Conversation Class Teacher volunteer will deliver IRMO Conversation Class lessons as suitable, required and in support of our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) provision for adults.
You will work closely with the ETE Education Assistant to support language development among IRMO ESOL Courses learners, following a scheme of work and basic course outline and planning the lessons at beginner and advanced levels (as allocated) according to your teaching approach, methods and techniques.
Main tasks and responsibilities of the role:
● Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality lessons to a range of classes and levels in a community setting.
● Providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for learners, reinforcing and practising English focusing on particular areas of the learner's language.
● Ensuring learners’ participation during classes and monitoring attendance.
● Providing opportunities for social engagement to support learners to become more independent (eg. explaining necessary processes about daily life).
● Promoting and encouraging language improvement (eg. motivating learners to participate in language learning activities such as conversation classes).
● Keeping classes on track according to the syllabus and learning outcomes instructed.
● Undertaking any other administrative tasks, consistent with the purpose of the role as required.
● To deliver all aspects of this role description in adherence and compliance with IRMO's Policies and Procedures.

We are looking for English teachers or tutors to provide one-to-one, group or asynchronous lessons to Palestinians aged 13+ and adults for at least 3 months. All volunteers must complete training before they begin.
The autumn term will run from 13/09/26 to 20/12/26.
What will you be doing?
- Applying the concepts learned through trauma-informed and emergency education training.
- Delivering weekly 90-minute lessons, plus 30–60 minutes of preparation for at least 3 months.
- Creating a supportive, positive learning environment.
- Tailoring methods to individual learner needs.

Filling in a weekly check-in form to track attendance and student progress.

Job Title: Online Yoga/Pilates Volunteer Teacher
Reports to: Head of Digital Operations
Job type: Voluntary - unpaid
Hours: Max 1hr/week (30min to 45min class + 15min admin time)
Role purpose:

Deliver accessible, high-quality online Yoga, Pilates or soft fitness/stretching/movement sessions tailored to a diverse community with varying English proficiency levels on Zoom.

Create an inclusive, welcoming digital environment by utilising gentle, low-impact movements like chair yoga, chair Pilates, and equipment-free stretching.

Provide simple, adaptable fitness instruction designed for small living spaces and requiring zero specialised equipment.
Main responsibilities:

Plan and lead engaging weekly 30- or 45-minute online classes using clear, simple English to ensure instructions are easy to follow for all participants.

Adapt exercises for limited spaces and ensure all routines require no equipment, focusing on bodyweight stretching and gentle movements.

Modify poses and movements to offer accessible formats, including seated options like chair yoga or chair Pilates, catering to different physical abilities.

Maintain regular communication with the Head of Digital Operations and track session details reliably using a simple Google Sheet.

Fridays (preferred day)

Yoga / Pilates / Fitness Teaching experience and confidence using Zoom and Google Sheets are essential for this role, as well as a reliable internet connection and your own space to deliver the sessions from.
