WEB DESIGNER - VOLUNTEER ROLE
We are looking for a volunteer to join our startup at Unlock YOUR Potential in the volunteer role of WEB DESIGNER (Remote), where you will lead on the design of visually appealing one page holding web page for our new start up not-for-profit.

Role Overview:
As the Volunteer, Web Designer, you will play a crucial role helping our startup get recognised by creating a visually appealing web page/holding page for Unlock YOUR Potential that will get us recognised and give us some online presence while we work behind the scenes to get fully set up and up and running.
We just need a one page website that gives information in a well presented and visually appealing way.
Qualifications and Experience:
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. We are especially interested in candidates who have:
- Web design experience with the ability to create an uplifting positive branded web page that we can use in the interim while we are getting set up.
Time Commitment:
We are looking for something pretty soon but there is no set deadlines as this is a volunteer role you will manage your own workload and as long as you keep us updated on the progress thats all that matters.

We are seeking an experience web developer to join our team and help revamp and develop our website. This is an exciting opportunity to join us, and gain experience of working for a small non-profit with big ambitions.
About Us
We are Borderline Support UK CIC, a non-profit organisation which is entirely volunteer-run and is led by our service users who are living with, or affected by, borderline personality disorder (BPD). We provide support and information to anyone in the UK affected by BPD. Every year we support more than 2000 people through our peer support groups and support services. We support people diagnosed with BPD, those who are living with symptoms, and their loved ones.
Key responsibilities
- Design our new website in line with brand guidelines with the guidance of the leadership team
- Make ongoing changes and improvements to website design and content
- Analyse and improve website performance
Experience
We welcome applications from people with different and varied skills, for this role we are particularly looking for:
- 3+ years experience as a web and graphic designer
- Knowledge of Wordpress
- Knowledge of Canva
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and follow best practice
- Knowledge of designing responsive and information websites
- Strong portfolio demonstrating previous work
- High level of design ability and attention to detail
- Ability to actively take initiative
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to provide a weekly update, and attend regular review meetings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisation skills
- Positive outlook and can-do attitude

Time Commitment
Time can be as little or as much as you can give, we are flexible to fit around your commitments. All volunteers are required to complete an induction (held virtually over Teams) and be happy to attend regular meetings online with your team.
Practical Considerations
You will receive training from the leadership team, and ongoing direction from a named key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete induction and basic training before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18, and have the right to live and work in the UK.

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to help enhance our visual communications. This volunteer position involved creating illustrations and graphic content that accurately conveys our brand and mission, and helps promote awareness of BPD and our work.

Illustration and Graphic Design
- Developing high-quality supportive visual content for use in social media, website and publications
- Develop visual content that aligns with our branding and mission
- Design infographics to convey information relating to BPD
Collaboration
- Work closely with the leadership team to understand project requirements and deliver visual content meeting that brief
- Accept feedback from team members to improve and refine visual content
Content Development
- Develop high-quality content for awareness campaigns and fundraising events
- Contribute to the creating of resources such as guides, brochures and presentations
- Design promotional material
Innovation and Creativity
- Bring fresh and innovate ideas to the table
- Stay updated with the latest design trends and incorporate them into your work
- Experiment with different styles and techniques to create unique and impactful content
Experience
We welcome applications from people with different and varied skills, for this role we are particularly looking for:
- Degree or equivalent experience in illustration, graphic design, visual arts or related field
- Proven experience in creating digital illustration and high-quality graphic design content
- Strong artistic, creativity and innovation skills
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in use of illustration or graphic design software
- Able to convey complex information into visually engaging and easy to understand content
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
