We are looking for a creative and passionate web developer to help us create a brand new website that will be user-friendly, mobile-friendly and enable us to support more people in need.

Plateful Café works to relieve poverty and isolation amongst refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities in Lewisham. Our commitment is to reach the most vulnerable people in our community and open a pathway to employment for people who have asylum here. Refugees will benefit from workshops, training skills and knowledge relevant for the catering industry. As a small charity it is important to share information and updates through our communications and social media content, to help us fundraise and grow. We are looking for someone to assist us with updating our website including the online shop, events page and blog. The website is a key part of Plateful Café, raising awareness about the barriers to work for refugees as well as helping to share our delicious products with a broad network. By joining the team you’ll be able to put your marketing and website design skills to great use, ensuring more refugees in South-East London can share delicious food.

Duties will include:

• Keeping the website up to date, including the online shop, events page and blog

What will you do?
As a Volunteer CMS/WordPress User at Legasee, your main responsibilities will be to showcase the remarkable history of the Women's Royal Army Corps (WRAC) on the Legasee website. This includes inputting descriptions, photos, and Vimeo codes onto our website, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Smart Works Leeds Board of Trustees. The newly created Ambassador & Volunteer Trustee will lead on two fundamental activities at the Centre: 

• Ambassadors: Smart Works Leeds currently has one Ambassador. The Board is looking to grow our ambassador community. The position will help identify, onboard and work with the team of Smart Works Leeds Ambassadors to raise the profile of the Charity across the Yorkshire region.

About the opportunity  

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Smart Works Greater Manchester Board of Trustees.

The Corporate Relationships Trustee will support in developing the corporate supporter base across the city region, with the aim of increasing the funding received from organisations. This will involve supporting the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to shape the our corporate partner “offer”, engaging with corporate supporters, and building the narrative of our social value proposition.

Securing corporate funding / financial donations as an income stream will enable the Charity to continue delivering the Smart Works service across Greater Manchester, helping women to secure employment and gain financial independence. The corporate partner offering will include securing formal, multi-year Charity Partner status for Smart Works Greater Manchester across the city region and increasing corporate participation in fundraising challenges, such as the annual Cycle for Smart Works challenge and payroll giving.

The time commitment for this voluntary, unpaid role is an average of 0.5 day per month, with more time given at busy periods of the year. There will be a requirement to sit on the Fund-Raising Sub-Committee, with meetings taking place every three months, and to attend Board meetings taking place every quarter.

Why we want you

Stores are now finding more items that are suitable for selling online. However, pulling together the research can take time. Our online research volunteer will be able to dedicate their time each week to this task, by bringing knowledge and know how to research potential items that would be more suitable to be sold online. You will need to fully research the items including ensuring that the items have sold previously and/or are likely to sell, then prepare the items for safe transport to our online sales department.

What you will be doing

• Researching and collating evidence to be sent with items
• Preparing and packing boxes for items to be sent safely to the Barnardo’s on-line hub
• Preparing and taking photos of items that might need to be sold as a 'pick up from store'
• Ensuring the store and back-area remains clean and tidy
• Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
• Ensure all security procedures are adhered to

• Good IT skills
• Good research skills
• An eye for a hidden gem
• Knowledge of (or willing to learn about) items that will sell well online
• Friendly and helpful
• Happy to be part of an amazing team of staff and volunteers
