We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a difference in their community. No prior experience is needed, as we provide full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a passion for helping people, you’ll fit right in!

You have the time to become a volunteer in your community; you might be looking for work experience, the opportunity to meet new people, or keep active.

By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces you will be raising essential funds for Oxfam – all whilst learning new skills and meeting some incredible people.

What you will be doing

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
• Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
• Chatting to customers, giving great service on the till.
• Researching valuable and vintage stock.
• Visual merchandising: creating eye-catching window and in-store displays.
• Photographing and listing items for the online shop.
• This role may include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers (21yrs+) to befriend a child or young person in care or leaving care. To provide opportunities for them to develop a meaningful. long-term relationship.

Can establish a positive, stable and long-term relationship with a young person.

Is reliable, non-judgemental, a good listener and able to engage with a child/young person.

Can promote the young persons developmental, social, emotional, cultural and religious needs.

Can adhere to policies and procedures at all times with emphasis on confidentiality, safeguarding, health & safety and relevant local authority procedures.

Is 21+ years old Has a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Meeting with the young person on a regular basis in the community for a couple of hours.

As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.

There is an expectation to regularly attend training meetings at one of our Network Units. Locations, days and times will be discussed at interview stage.

Candidates will be invited to attend an informal interview at Wharf Street in Wolverhampton where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the role as well as opportunities within St John Ambulance. If successful you will also required to complete relevant role training which includes both in person practical (2 days) and online eLearning.

There will be quarterly welcome events taking place at Wharf Street Wolverhampton where the successful candidates will meet the leaders for the Wolverhampton Networks. During the induction they will learn more about the organisation, how to access resources and select their preferred network to join - this will be predominantly based on the meeting night of the network. PLEASE NOTE: This role is only required for the Christmas period initially, however we are also seeking a podiatrist volunteer for our year round service.

Each person who'd like to volunteer needs to sign up individually, and volunteers are not permitted to bring friends, family members, or children along with them on shifts.

Crisis Podiatry Volunteers provide a range of treatments and advice for our guests. When you are homeless or insecurely housed, access to healthcare is challenging. 

As part of our preventative health work, you may provide general footcare advice and guidance. You may also treat corns and calluses, mycotic and gryphotic nails, blistering and maceration.

You will be volunteering at our Health & Wellbeing Day(s). These events are an opportunity for members to access a range of health & wellbeing services from the safety and comfort of our Skylight. All treatments are clothed. 

You will be part of a specialist volunteer team which may include: Hairdressers, Masseuses, Optical Care and GPs. 

Our training will show you what to expect when running sessions and the type of sessions that work best for our guests.

Social Media Manager

Help build a digital village for moms and families navigating postpartum and beyond. Hive Impact Fund is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving access to resources for mothers and families—particularly during the postpartum period and within underserved communities. Through storytelling, education, and community-building, we aim to make maternal and family wellness more equitable.

We’re seeking a creative, strategic, and heart-led Social Media Manager to grow our online presence and deepen engagement across Instagram and Pinterest. If you love creating meaningful content and care deeply about women’s and family health, we’d love to hear from you.

**Note: this position is not paid though there is potential in the future**

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute a thoughtful social media strategy that amplifies our mission and strengthens our community voice.
• Create informative, compassionate, and visually engaging content on maternal health, postpartum care, and family wellness.
• Manage a campaign-based posting cadence:
  • 2 posts per week on Instagram only
    • 1 repost user-generated content (UGC) with theme tied to current campaign
    • 1 static post or carousel per week that reinforces our brand message and current campaign
• Support 4 quarterly campaigns (each with ~6-week runtimes), ensuring consistent storytelling and audience engagement.
• Use analytics to monitor performance, track growth, and adapt content strategy based on insights.
• Collaborate closely with our remote team to maintain consistent visuals, tone, and messaging aligned with our brand guide.
• Stay informed on trends in women’s health, community wellness, and nonprofit marketing to keep content relevant and impactful.

You’re a Great Fit If You Have

• 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
• Proven success in growing and engaging online communities.
• Strong understanding of social media best practices, analytics, and platform algorithms.
• A passion for women’s health, family wellness, and social impact.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills—especially translating complex health topics into relatable posts.
• Proficiency with Canva or similar design tools to create visually appealing, on-brand content.
• A collaborative spirit and comfort working remotely with a small, dynamic team across the U.S.

We’re looking for admin volunteers to help with our daily operations.  We have a variety of ways you can get involved:

• Responding to client requests and enquiries
• Fundrasing and partnership management
• Managing and updating company databases
• Keeping track of partnership enquiries
• Maintaining internal, volunteer, and client records
• Drafting and mailing client correspondence and newsletters
• Organising events, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
• Providing administrative support to other departments or projects as needed
• Performing other duties as agreed in advance

We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you.  All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team.  You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer.  Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.

A laptop and a quiet space to volunteer is essential.

How much time can you give?

A minimum of 2 hours per week is required. We are flexible and like to work around you.

Training

We provide accredited training with 3 short courses needing to be completed prior starting your volunteer role.  After, you’ll have access to over 90 accredited courses should you want to study further.

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

We’re looking for a friendly and empathetic Pathway Volunteer. As the first point of contact for individuals accessing our Community Wellbeing Service, you’ll play a vital role in welcoming guests, conducting initial triage appointments to understand their goals and needs, and signposting them to the most appropriate support services.

The role will require you to:

• Greet guests who are visiting the Community Wellbeing service for the first time
• Conduct a ‘pathway’ triage appointment, establishing the members’ goals and note down areas of concern and current issues
• Signpost to local services and partners that come into the space
• If needed, book an appointment for the member with an advisor
• Update Sufra’s case management system, keeping detailed notes of appointments

Skills required

Professional

• No formal qualifications are necessary, however understanding and having knowledge of the landscape of Brent, the welfare benefit system and other voluntary and statutory services will be beneficial.
• You need to be a confident communicator, able to give a warm welcome to all and keep to timely appointment slots.
• Digital literacy is essential.
• You must be confident with IT platforms such as Microsoft Office and preferably have used case management systems before.

Personal - We need volunteers who:

• Are friendly

• Can actively listen
• Are passionate about supporting local families to access the support they need
• Are empathic
• Preferably be able to speak another language: Arabic, Persian, Spanish

Two Temple Place is a magnificent neo-Tudor gem in central London, built in 1895 for William Waldorf Astor. In 2011 we opened our first annual free exhibition, and since then exhibitions have welcomed 460,000 visitors. We run a growing programme of cultural and community events designed to open our doors more often, to more people. We rely on our friendly and enthusiastic team of more than 180 volunteers to make our free exhibitions possible. We are recruiting volunteers for our 2026 exhibition, The Weight of Being, which will explore the profound ways in which external pressures shape artistic expression, mental health, and resilience, highlighting the power of art as a means of expression, resistance, and survival.

From fireworks on the Hoe to rugby at Plymouth Albion, you could be one of a team keeping our city safe. Our Community First Aiders support everything from major council events like the British Fireworks Championships, to festive Christmas markets, local 10k runs, and community fetes across Plymouth. With full training provided, you'll gain lifesaving skills, join a supportive team, and make a difference at unforgettable events.

Requirements for the role are: Committing 80 hours per year to the role (approximately one day per month). Physical requirements for the role at events requires moving around and treating people. This would include kneeling by a collapsed patient and delivering chest compressions for at least 2 minutes without stopping). To be able to keep up-to-date with online training.

Interviews and Enrolments will be held as a roll on basis as the applications for roles are received.

Training for the role will be given through a Community First Aider course, which will include training in patient assessment and basic life support, managing trauma in emergency settings, and recognising signs and symptoms in both adults and children. You will also determine when to escalate care, seek senior assistance, and handle medications, interventions, and patient communications whilst ensure safety in your role. Essential training such as safeguarding, health and safety, and GDPR will also be given.
