Pro Bono Opportunity to create a World Prematurity Day Campaign

At Ickle Pickles, we’re a passionate team dedicated to creating impactful campaigns. We’re excited to raise awareness about prematurity and hope to engage wider audiences with our 2025 World Prematurity Day Campaign.

Our 2024 awareness video achieved 17.6k views across social media, and in 2025, we're aiming to engage an even bigger crowd! We offer remote, flexible work with regular check-ins, an opportunity to innovate and implement your ideas, and a chance to build your portfolio.

If you've successfully created creative assets for campaigns, such as a short video or infographics, you can help us raise awareness of prematurity and neonatal care.

What we're looking for:

We are looking for enthusiastic people from across the UK who are passionate about helping children and young people feel and be safe in sports and physical activities.

What you'll do:

Represent the Safe in Sport Volunteer Programme at selected events in your locality, where you will make a difference, through sharing our Child Protection in Sport Unit's resources and gathering insights around safeguarding.

• Liaise with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) to learn about safeguarding in sport and physical activity
• Raise awareness of and signpost to available safeguarding tools and support
• Promote and encourage event attendees to engage with key messages; especially with themes for sport and physical activity participants, their families, and organisers, to help CPSU support them to keep children and young people safe in sport.
• Gather insights from event attendees, e.g. by sharing QR survey links
• Complete a simple event feedback form and return to CPSU
• Promote the wider work of the NSPCC and CPSU at events

Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) empowers rural communities to fight poverty, restore degraded land, and build climate resilience through sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and eco-friendly livelihoods. Grant Writer/Fundraising Volunteer

Role Description

Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) is seeking a passionate and skilled Grant Writer/Fundraising Volunteer to support our mission of restoring ecosystems, empowering rural communities, and advancing climate resilience in Nigeria. The volunteer will play a vital role in identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and building relationships with donors and funding partners.

Key Responsibilities: Research Funding Opportunities: Identify and monitor grant opportunities from foundations, international donors, corporations, and government agencies aligned with RUWAI’s mission. Proposal Development: Draft, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and donor communications. Donor Engagement Support: Assist in developing pitch materials, case statements, and progress reports to engage current and prospective donors. Collaboration with Team: Work closely with program leads to gather relevant data, impact stories, and budget details for funding proposals. Grant Calendar Management: Help maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submissions. Reporting and Documentation: Contribute to writing donor reports, impact summaries, and narrative updates to strengthen funder relationships. Fundraising Strategy Input: Offer ideas to diversify and strengthen RUWAI’s fundraising efforts, including exploring crowdfunding, partnerships, or campaigns. BFUK are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate volunteers to support the delivery of our creative and educational hospital workshops. These sessions not only offer children and young people the opportunity to be imaginative, learn something new, and socialise, but also serve as a welcome distraction from time spent in the hospital. There is always something new to experience; previous workshops have included various crafts, make-up artistry, indoor gardening, hands-on VR demonstrations and mocktail making!

Our workshops take place in Great Ormond Street Hospital on Tuesdays and University College Hospital on Wednesdays.

As a Workshop Volunteer, you will:

• Assist with the preparation of workshop activities and support the sessions to run smoothly
• Chat and engage warmly with children, young people and their families during activities, offering encouragement and support
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team
• Have the opportunity to plan and lead your own workshop, if you wish

As a charity that supports children and young people, we make safeguarding individuals our top priority. If you have space in your home and heart, for a guide dog mum who will be bringing the next generation of guide dogs in the world, then this could be the role for you! A role where you can care and nurture for a guide dog mum and plenty of little puppies when they arrive. 

What you’ll be doing: 

• Providing a loving home for a guide dog mum who will be at least 12 months old, for around six years whilst they are in the breeding programme (with the option to re-home after this, once the guide dog mum retires at around 7 years-old.) 
• Giving a guide dog mum the care and support that our canine companions need, like feeding and grooming.
• Creating a safe environment for the guide dog mum when they are giving birth within your home and helping with the birth of future guide dogs, which usually happens once a year. (You don’t need any previous experience of breeding or having dogs – we have expert staff who will help you!) 
• Providing care and support for the newborn puppies for at least 6 weeks while they are still in the nest, including socialising them to the new sounds and first-time experiences in your home.

Can I care for a guide dog mum? 

If you want to care for a guide dog mum, here's what we ideally look for:

• A loving home with a secure garden.
• Access to a car, to support with any appointments needed for the guide dog mum.
• Live within an hour’s drive of the National Centre in Leamington Spa.

Guide dog mums can happily live with other dogs or children, however we wouldn’t place them with a male dog that has not been neutered. To determine whether you are suitable, we will conduct a home visit as part of the application process.

Training and support

Our volunteers also receive lots of support from their volunteer managers to help them implement the training modules, as well as managing the birth of new-born puppies. If you have questions about the training requirements, we can answer these at your interview along with any other support or accessibility needs you may have.

Volunteering for Guide Dogs should never leave you out of pocket. We’ll make sure we pay any pre-agreed expenses related to the litter or your volunteering with us, including veterinary costs, food costs or any specialist breeding equipment.  All you may need to buy is a bed and grooming equipment.

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is recognised for its work to reduce undernutrition globally. We enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, connecting key actors and building evidence. We are passionate about being network-driven, independent and evidence-based. 

Our vision is that every individual caught up in a nutritional emergency, or suffering from malnutrition anywhere in the world, gets the most effective help possible.  We undertake knowledge management, research, and advocacy to support national governments, civil society, UN agencies, donors and academic organisations, and communities of practitioners. Through our work and collaborations, we support agencies and individuals to implement evidence-based nutrition programming, predominantly in low- and middle-income countries and in fragile and conflict-affected states.

What we do

ENN’s work includes our “Field Exchange” publication that provides up to date information from research, programme learnings, and news from the sector, generated by practitioners, and distributed to our large network of researchers, practitioners and policy makers globally.  We have projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Maternal and Adolescent Nutrition and support for Small and Nutritionally at-risk Infants under six months & their mothers and also manage a peer-to-peer forum offering timely answers to the questions challenging those on the front line of providing services to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world.  ENN does not directly implement programmes but works to improve the effectiveness of all nutrition practitioners by helping to shape policy and practice at global and national levels.

Key Tasks

· Translate short documents or messages from English to French, particularly technical content related to malnutrition prevention and treatment.

· Assist in the drafting or translation of social media posts for ENN’s French-speaking audience.

· Attend and take minutes for virtual meetings held in French, involving health and nutrition practitioners working in Francophone Africa.

· Provide feedback and quality assurance on French translations, once familiar with ENN’s tone, terminology, and referencing glossaries (ENN, GNC, etc.).

· Where relevant, support in identifying contacts in Francophone regions for interviews, written contributions, or presentations aligned with ENN’s technical areas of focus.

Requirements

• Fluency in French (C1 or C2 level) with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Good comprehension of English, particularly written English, in order to translate accurately.
• Ability to volunteer time on a flexible, ad hoc basis. Regular times each week may be agreed if preferred.
• Familiarity with or background in nutrition, health, or humanitarian contexts.
• Attention to detail and an interest in contributing to high-quality, impactful communications.

What We Can Offer

Whilst we are not in a position to financially remunerate you for your time, we would be able to offer you the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working in a highly regarded organisation, developing a new area of support for mothers and their infants in the nutrition sector.
We would encourage you to join some of our online technical meetings in English, as well as our French language meetings.

As a Digital Buddy, you’ll help people with everyday digital tasks like:
