We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Preston group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills. 

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 5 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

Romsey charity looking for volunteer Trustees – do you have some time to spare to support this long-established and well-known local cancer support charity?

Romsey Cancer Support Centre (Jane Scarth House and Jane’s Charity Shop) is looking to appoint two Trustees. Applications from people with experience in finance and fundraising are specifically welcomed. We would be looking for someone to start as soon as convenient and to serve for an initial term of 3 years.

We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Cirencester and South Cotswold Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your writing skills, and gain an experience of communicating across a range of digital channels.

Join us at Brighton Racecourse for a fundraising bucket collection! As a volunteer, you'll receive a ticket to the event, giving you the chance to watch some of the races while supporting a great cause. 

Role Details: 
Volunteers will assist by collecting donations from the public using buckets and card machines. Collections will take place after the races and at the Shelter stand. 

Availability: Flexible shifts available between 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM 
Location: Brighton Racecourse, Freshfield Road, Brighton BN2 9XZ 
Supervised by: Community and Events Assistant 

As a Volunteer Hospice Driver, you’ll help transport children and young people for respite stays and fun day trips. You'll be part of the team making these memorable moments possible.

What You’ll Do:

• Drive the Claire House minibus to and from the hospice

• Transport children for activities, outings, and planned respite

• Check the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before each trip

• Support the care team by ensuring passenger safety

Requirements:

• Hold a full clean UK driving licence (checks will be completed prior to starting)

• A confident driver who is happy to drive a minibus

• Aged 21–74 (for insurance purposes)

• Empathetic, professional, and friendly

• A good communicator

• Willing to complete training and follow safety protocols

• Be based in the local area (Merseyside or Cheshire).

They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community.

We have an exciting opportunity for supporters of Bath Cats & Dogs Home who may not be able to commit to a weekly volunteer slot to get involved in events throughout the year. This varied role offers you the chance to experience different volunteering positions, ranging from street collections and in-store fundraising drives to large events including the Bath Half Marathon and our annual Wag Walk. Each of these events are equally important to raising vital funds for the Home as well as raising our profile in the community.

About the Role 

Volunteering at events offers you the opportunity to meet other volunteers and learn about how you each support the Home. Events volunteering can demonstrate how Bath Cats & Dogs Home has touched so many people's lives. You will meet former residents of Bath Cats & Dogs Home at Wag Walk and hear about their adoption journey, as well hearing from runners at the Bath Half why they are fundraising for us. If you have a relaxed dog that likes meeting people, you are welcome to bring them along with you to street collections and fundraising drives as this is always a conversation starter! 

Booked events for 2025: 

• Street collections in Bath
• Fundraising drives at Pets at Home's Bath and Trowbridge stores

Most events take place during the day on weekends, with the exception of Pets at Home's Santa Paws fundraising drive, which includes some weekdays. 

About You

If you have a love for animals, are outgoing and enjoy meeting new people, this may be the volunteering role for you! You will need to be confident and have an approachable nature as you will be speaking with members of the public about the work that we do. At street collections, the Bath Half Marathon and Wag Walk, you may be required to stand for over an hour at a time, which should be considered upon application. 

All volunteers are required to complete online Health & Safety training prior to their start date. Due to insurance restrictions, all volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

Do you enjoy cooking and sharing your skills?   

We are a looking for friendly volunteers with a passion for cooking to join us in the kitchen! The people we support in Taunton would love your help to develop their skills, follow recipes and have fun while sharing the enjoyment of cooking.   
 
If you would like to make a difference and make friends along the way, we would love to hear from you!      

Activities will include: 

• Helping the people we support to cook, follow recipes, make healthy meals, chose ingredients and feel confident in the kitchen

• Giving guidance on various kitchen skills, including safety and hygiene 

• Supporting with meal planning and learning about healthy meals and snacks. 

• Being there for company, friendship and fun 

We are looking for someone who is: 

• Friendly and enthusiastic 

• Confident in the kitchen and happy to share skills and advice 

• Comfortable chatting with people with learning disabilities and autism. 

• Reliable and willing to commit to volunteer regularly (exact times/days can be agreed) 

A DBS check and two-character references will be required for this role.

We are a leading LGBTQ+ help and support service based in Reading, servicing the Thames Valley area. Our service is run by a dedicated team who are responsible for delivering the help and support available through our website, telephone helpline and face-to-face sessions.

What will you be doing?

Support U is seeking trustees to join our board at this pivotal moment following a period of change, as we strengthen our governance and work toward a more sustainable and impactful future. As a trustee, you’ll play a role in helping guide the charity’s direction, ensure good governance, and enable our small team to deliver high-impact services to the LGBTQIA+ community across Berkshire.

Key responsibilities include:

· Providing strategic leadership and oversight

· Ensuring good governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

· Supporting financial management and safeguarding the charity’s resources

· Acting as an ambassador and advocate for the charity

· Promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work
