We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Skegness and District Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.

Time commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

Our Trustees are responsible for 

·Ensuring that the EBF pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined by our governing document, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy

·Ensuring that the EBF complies with its governing document (ie its trust deed, constitution or memorandum and articles of association), charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

·Ensuring that the EBF applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects 

·Ensuring that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets

·Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation

·Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place

·Ensuring the financial stability of the organisation, including the proper investment of the charity’s funds

In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.

In this role you will be:
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment – Welcoming new members to the group and encouraging participation.

• Working with a Volunteer Moderator and engagement Team to create engaging content for the Group.

Can you help us to bring in the funds we need to make the food bank a success? 

We are looking for a volunteer Fundraising Lead to play a significant role in shaping a fundraising strategy, help raise awareness of Bounds Green Food Bank (BGFB) and generate income through events, projects and fundraising activities.

We currently raise money through grants, individual donations and community projects. We would like to broaden our fundraising initiatives and are looking for someone to raise funds, meet fundraising targets, raise our profile with key funding partners, and inspire relevant groups to support us.

About Bounds Green Food Bank: 

Open since June 2020, we serve over 1,500 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items and helping alleviate household food insecurity. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people and families in crisis situations and needing assistance.

The role: 

• Work with the Board of Trustees to agree a fundraising strategy, including setting annual fundraising targets

• Help to develop a fundraising team

• Identify income-generating opportunities and develop projects

• Build, develop and maintain relationships to secure funding

• Provide guidance to other teams that support fundraising initiatives e.g. the Grants Writing Team, Events Team and the Communication Team

Person specification: 

• Passionate about food insecurity and reducing social isolation

• Experience working in a fundraising role, including grants, trusts and foundations

• Ability and willingness  to work to financial targets 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and attention to detail

• Able to work flexibly and under pressure

• Ability to be creative and entrepreneurial in order to find new ways to raise funds

Are you passionate about families of disabled children having a voice? Do you have 10 hours a month to lead our charity?

Reading Families’ Forum is a small local charity with an experienced Trustee Board and our current Chair is retiring.

The Forum's role is to ensure that families of children with disabilities and/or additional needs can participate fully in the development of services within the Reading Local Authority. Help us make sure that services reflect families' needs.

The post holder will lead the Trustee Board and manage our 2 part-time staff.

We are the local parent carer forum and are part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, who provide training and support to the individual forums.

About The Role

At WWT, we create and conserve wetlands and save species.  Llanelli Wetland Centre is 450 acres of saltmarsh, lakes, scrapes, pools, streams and lagoons providing a refuge for many different species of plants and animals.

We are looking for volunteers that can help us out and join our Wednesday Volunteer Group. By working as part of the reserves volunteer team you will assist with the management of all aspects of the nature reserve. This will help to provide our wildlife with the most beneficial of habitats and provide visitors with a great day out and encourage them to engage with and support our work to save wetlands for wildlife and people.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get stuck in with some practical nature conservation as part of a friendly team, and could be a stepping stone for anyone wanting to gain further experience to help gain a career in conservation.

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

Position Overview:
