Large brands and agencies dominate the sports sponsorship marketplace. As a result, many athletes, including female, disabled, and LGBTQ+ athletes from various ethnicities or lower socioeconomic backgrounds, are often left without sponsors and access to what they need to reach their potential.
In addition, many sponsors need help finding and developing a genuine connection with an athlete, which leads to issues connecting with their audiences. There is no way to search for sponsors or athletes directly without involving costly agencies. Transparency and self-management are crucial in democratising the marketplace. The opportunity to make this sector more equitable is now.

We have built an innovative self-managed athlete-sponsorship platform focused on unique connections between sponsors and athletes. Sponsors, athletes, and fans can sign-up. Athletes create a public profile page with information and media about themselves. Sponsors create campaigns which athletes & teams search and apply for. In addition, all users can follow athletes who post on our social feed. Negotiation steps are in-built before the contract is confirmed; secure payment is taken for the sponsorship amount and held securely. As milestones are reached, an athlete's payment percentage is released, protecting both sides. our latest build has developed our campaign area, where marketing assets are now auto-generated in the brand and athlete voice through AI and ML implementation. Once a campaign has gone live, there is now a dashboard that shows its engagement success and delivers the data points you would expect to understand for each campaign alongside a social value calculation that maps to the SDGs and other CSR markers. Our UI and UX are updated to ensure the right data is captured and the user journey is streamlined. This new release will go live in January 2025 when we have secured our IP and started to build out our team. Our model enables the fair distribution of power.

About the Role We are seeking a strategic and organised Social Media Officer to lead the planning and coordination of our digital presence. You will be responsible for developing and managing our social media strategy to support platform growth and elevate our mission: creating a space where inclusion, fair representation, and diversity are truly embedded in sport and social enterprise.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a rolling content calendar that aligns with organisational priorities, campaigns, awareness days, and partnerships.

Channel Management: Oversee and schedule posts across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) ensuring consistency in voice, timing, and message.

Team Coordination: Brief content creators, ensure deadlines are met, and review outputs before publishing.

Campaign Collaboration: Work closely with PR and partnerships leads to align social media with campaign activities and key messages.

Growth & Insights: Track and analyse performance using platform analytics to inform strategy and recommend improvements.

Community Awareness: Stay current on platform updates, trends, and best practices in digital engagement and inclusive communications.

What We’re Looking For Experience managing social media for an organisation, initiative, or brand.

Strong planning and project coordination skills.

Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Meta tools, Later, Hootsuite).

A keen eye for tone, accessibility, and inclusive representation.

One of the UK’s best-loved orchestras, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is a professional ensemble known for championing the role of culture in people’s lives. Based at Lighthouse, Poole, it has residencies in Bournemouth, Bristol, Exeter, Portsmouth, Southampton and Yeovil — and is the largest cultural provider in the South West, serving one of the biggest and most diverse regions in the UK.

Whilst the BSO already benefits from a wide range of skills on the Board of Trustees, we are looking to strengthen the team further and provide long-term succession planning in its governance.

Given BSO’s unique remit covering 10,000 square miles of the South and South West of England, the Board is seeking to appoint two Trustees to help build BSO’s presence and connections regionally and nationally. We hope that our new Trustees will help develop the Company’s links across Corporate, Civic and Community life.

Through this recruitment, BSO are looking for two individuals. The BSO is seeking a trustee with Director of Finance experience who can lead on financial matters on behalf of the Board. Experience as a chief finance officer in the business, charity or education sectors would be preferable.  They are also seeking someone who can help the company build resilience for the business in Bristol and across the South West, developing new supportive relationships centered around the fact we are currently Bristol Beacon’s Orchestra in Residence. It is hoped that at least one of the two new Trustees appointed will be Bristol based.
