Job description

Sustrans, the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is seeking an adaptable individual to join our national team in Scotland:

Technical Project Assistant (Ref:  SUS2758)

£21,947 per annum

37.5 hours per week - based in Edinburgh

This support role will assist the Scotland systems development and support team by acting as the initial contact for users, logging bugs and development requests, assisting in the testing of new functionality, updating user guide documentation, carrying out certain system admin tasks and assisting with smaller programming tasks.

With a good standard of education, you will have previous experience of software development and software testing (ideally T-SQL and asp.Net).  With strong administration, organisation, prioritisation and communications skills, you will be familiar with development packages (ideally MS Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio), have a high level of IT literacy and an understanding of programme languages and best practice techniques.  You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport. 

Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9am Monday 30 September 2019. Interviews will take place in Edinburgh during week beginning Monday 14 October 2019.
