Community Fundraising
Even though we are a small charity we want to make a big difference and would like to draw on your experience in fundraising to help us to grow and support more people.
We are looking for a fundraiser to take the lead on our individual-giving/community stream of fundraising. We have a fundraiser currently who focuses on events and major donors, and our Directors/Trustees have taken the lead with grant applications to Trusts and Foundations. However, we are open to hear from any fundraisers from any type of income stream, as we are looking to diversify our income to maintain sustainability. You will be working closely alongside this group throughout our fundraising journey.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Project manage fundraising opportunities

Service: Perinatal Support for Partners Service
This is a service that offers fathers and non-birthing parents, who’s partner is being supported by the West London perinatal mental health service, an evidence-based 1:1 assessment to support their mental health and wellbeing. Role Description:

- Create Eventbrite/Facebook/Instagram ads to draw new participants to future sessions.

- Travel to and support Teashop sessions by helping with materials, taking photos, and managing sign-in procedures, typically two sessions per month during weekends.
- Create engaging social media content to promote The Teashop sessions and build community awareness.

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our Cat Adoption Team Leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.
Volunteer Caseworkers are the lifeblood of SSAFA, supporting a growing number of people in need of financial, practical, and emotional support. Clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like Iraq or Afghanistan.
When would you be needed and where would you be based?
The essential part of the role is visiting clients, so you will need access to a vehicle or another way to travel to meet clients at home or in a care home setting. As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but you can complete the administration part of the role from home as long as you have access to IT equipment and the internet.

As a Fundraising Volunteer – Campaigns & Events at The Mulberry Centre, you will play a vital role in supporting our fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives aimed at providing essential services to individuals affected by cancer. You will work closely with our Supporter Engagement Lead and our Fundraising & Engagement Team to assist with our in-house fundraising efforts and provide support to individuals undertaking challenges and events on behalf of The Mulberry Centre, seeing defined projects through from start to finish.
Time Commitment – A regular commitment of 2 days a week (Majority of which would be office based) for a minimum of 6 months or longer term.
Main Duties
To work within an agreed brief with the support of the Supporter Engagement Lead on the following:
· Fundraising Campaign Support: Assisting with the planning, execution and evaluation of fundraising campaigns, including online and offline initiatives.
· Event Support: Helping to organise and facilitate fundraising events, ensuring smooth execution and maximum engagement from participants and supporters.
· Individual Support: Helping the Supporter Engagement Lead provide guidance and encouragement to individuals undertaking challenges and events in support of The Mulberry Centre, offering assistance in fundraising strategies and goal setting using the fundraising pack.
· Marketing and Advertising: Utilising transferable skills in marketing and advertising to promote fundraising campaigns and events, both online and offline, to maximize reach and participation.
· Community Engagement: Researching and engaging with the local community, small businesses, and organisations to foster partnerships and support for fundraising efforts.
· Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of fundraising activities, donations, and participant information, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
· Correspondence: Drafting accurate, well-structured emails, letters and reports with agreed key messages and information.

Volunteer Skills Specification:
· Ability to gain and share knowledge of what The Mulberry Centre offers to people affected by cancer and inspire others to support us.

StreetVet is a growing national charity, committed to providing free vet care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness and to keep pets and owners together to maintain their unbreakable bond. StreetVet relies on its team of over 500 vet and nurse volunteers in twenty three locations around the UK to deliver free medical treatment, funded by grants, partnerships, corporate and individual donors. Role Description
StreetVet are looking for a volunteer Finance Assistant to work with the CEO, Operations Manager and Head of Fundraising to help monitor the financial administration of the charity and report to the CEO at regular intervals on its state of financial health, in line with best practice, and in compliance with the governing document and legal requirements.
You will single handedly help support StreetVet’s patients and their owners by strengthening StreetVet’s finance and governance.
What can you expect to be doing?
· Preparing budgets.
· Keeping accurate financial records.
· Reporting financial records via Xero accounting software.
· Review and approve payments (including payroll).
· Being part of a team which ensures there are sufficient funds to meet expenditure.
· Updating and advising others on income received, expenditure and available funds.
· Managing and monitoring donations made to the group.
· Following financial procedures e.g. Gift Aid returns and VAT claims.
Responsibilities and duties:
· Overseeing and supporting the CEO with budgets, internal management accounts and annual financial statements for the Board of Trustees, and making sure that they understand what the accounts are saying.
· Leading StreetVet to ensure that proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are properly controlled, invested and economically spent, in line with good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
· Supporting the CEO with the production of StreetVet’s Annual Report and Accounts.
· Oversee the development and implementation of financial reserves, cost management and investment policies.
· Lead on the Charities duty to ensure that proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are properly controlled, invested and economically spent, in line with good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
· Liaising with the CEO and Operations Manager on the day-to-day financial activities of the charity.
· Monitor and advise on the financial viability of the charity.
· Monitor the financial administration of the charity and report to the CEO on its state of financial health, in line with best practice, and in compliance with the governing document and legal requirements.
· Overseeing the implementation of and monitoring specific financial controls and adherence to systems.
· Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan, and supporting the CEO with presenting an annual budget to the Board.
· Set up the StreetVet Finance committee, ensuring effective and inclusive meetings, facilitating discussions to which everyone can contribute and ensuring well founded, considered decision making.
· Oversee and scrutinise budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements and provide advice on these and the financial implications of the charity’s strategy and plans to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
· In partnership with the CEO ensure sound financial management of StreetVet - that proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are properly invested and economically spent; and that we have sound reserves and other finance and fundraising policies.
· Overseeing the charity’s financial risk‐management process.
· Liaise with the external auditors or independent examiner on specific issues such as the auditor’s or examiner’s management letter and the related board representations.
Skills/qualifications required
· Experience or knowledge of accounting, book keeping and/or good numeracy skills.
· The ability to collect and present information clearly and logically.
· A professional accountancy qualification (ICAEW or equivalent).
· Some understanding of charity finance and the fundraising landscape.
· Sound independent judgement, an ability to analyse information and communicate this in clear accessible ways to those without financial backgrounds.
· Good communication and leadership skills.
· A willingness to speak their mind and engage in open debate while working effectively as part of a team.

Creating graphics on social media for events and partnerships with other organisations

Liaising with the social media team, ensuring that events are promoted on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram

Thinking up new event ideas

Working to ensure the smooth running of the monthly book club

Identifying new organisations and individuals who are queer Muslims and allies to collaborate with

Contacting organisations and venues

Working with others in the team to arrange in-person events

Sending thank-you emails after all events

Updating contact/partner database
Experience/skills required:

Working in a team but also independently, using initiative

Organisation and time management skills

Ability to use OutSavvy, Google Suite (including Google Calendar and Google Meet), HootSuite and Discord (or willingness to learn)

Familiarity with social media platforms (or willingness to learn)
