Join our amazing team and make a real difference to people living with sight loss. Help create a welcoming and safe environment for people to share their experiences, ask questions and support each other and connect with a local community in a group setting via Facebook.

In this role you will be:
• Managing group membership – authorising Requests to Join.
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment.
• Supporting group conversations.
• Working with a Volunteer Moderator Team to create engaging content for the Group.
• Ensuring House Rules are followed and content is appropriate.

The Vice Chair provides crucial support to the Chair and the Board of Trustees, ensuring the charity's smooth operation and strategic direction. You will act as a deputy, take on additional tasks, and help manage the chair's workload. The Vice Chair's role can vary, but generally involves supporting the chair, acting as a sounding board, and sharing responsibilities. 

Duties can involve:

Support the work of the Chair, and deputise where necessary, in the execution of the following responsibilities, in order to:

• Provide leadership to the charity and its Board, to ensure it operates within its charitable objectives, with a clear strategic direction for the executive team.

• Ensure that Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for effective governance.

• Ensure that meetings are regular and effective.

• Work with the Chair and Chief Executive Officer to ensure that sub-committees make effective and timely recommendations to the Board. • Lead a sub- committee of the board responsible for business development, and/ or such other sub-committees, teams, or working groups as may be created by the board.

• Review the performance of the board.

• Assist with the recruitment of new trustees.

Essential experiance should include:

• Experience as a trustee of a charity

• Be committed to the organisation and has sufficient time and willingness to contribute effectively to board proceedings

• Be able to work effectively as a member of a team 

• Be able to make quick and sound decisions based on an analysis of information presented to them

Role Summary

Mast Cell Action is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Volunteer Graphics Support Coordinator to assist with designing engaging and visually compelling graphics for our social media platforms. This role plays a key part in helping us raise awareness about Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and fostering a sense of community.

Key Responsibilities

Design graphics for social media posts, stories, and campaigns in line with the Mast Cell Action branding guidelines.

Collaborate with the social media team to understand content needs and ensure timely delivery of assets.

Support the development of visuals for ongoing campaigns, such as "MCAS is..." and "Please Don't Test Me."

Create eye-catching visuals for announcements, events, and educational content.

Maintain and organise a library of graphics for easy future access and use.

Skills and Experience

Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).

A keen eye for design, colour, and typography.

Ability to interpret and work within brand guidelines.

Ability to interpret briefs and translate them into creative designs.

Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Passion for raising awareness and supporting communities affected by health challenges (knowledge of MCAS is a plus but not required).

Do you enjoy speaking to people and working with computers? Are you organised? You could support our Talk and Support team to run our award winning befriending groups by matching blind and partially sighted people from our waiting list into our telephone befriending groups. You would be helping people to get into one of our groups as quickly as possible and helping to end the isolation of sight loss.

We are looking for someone who is available one day each week who is comfortable using computers and computer based telephony systems and who is familiar with Microsoft Office 365.
