All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Aquarius as a Complex Needs Practitioner (Recovery Worker). Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, and Build on Belief providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire. The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes. All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activities, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use). An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office. About the roles:
Camden’s Integrated Drug and Alcohol service is offering an incredible opportunity for individuals with lived experience of homelessness and/or substance use to join a pioneering team supporting others in their recovery journey. With one year of funding secured, we are seeking two passionate and dynamic individuals to take on specialist roles, based at both treatment sites and within Camden hostels. These roles will also involve working alongside the In-reach team and the Specialist Women’s team, allowing you to make a tangible impact on the lives of clients by helping to shape and enhance services for those who need them most. You will be a familiar, trusted face, guiding clients through their recovery journey, empowering them to access treatment and overcome barriers, while contributing your own insights to ensure services are truly supportive and accessible.
In these roles, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in trauma informed interventions, working alongside expert practitioners to transform how clients experience treatment. The focus is on creating safe, welcoming spaces for individuals to seek help without fear of further harm or trauma, while also engaging in meaningful activities that inspire positive change in their lives. You will be pivotal in supporting Camden’s hostel pathway clients, helping them not only access treatment but also discover the strength within themselves to rebuild their lives. About you:
- An individual with a lived experience of substance misuse as well as experience of accessing Treatment and Recovery services.
- An understanding of the principles of planned support and working with vulnerable people.
- An understanding of the principles underlying a quality and customer focussed service with the proven ability to empower service users.
- The ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
- Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements and work outside of office hours on occasion.
- Strong time management skills, ability to work on own initiative, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards.

Service Manager (High Wycombe) Location: One Recovery Bucks, High Wycombe Salary: £37,588 - £40,478 per annum Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week Since 2017, One Recovery Bucks (ORB), commissioned by Buckinghamshire County Council, has been providing specialized support to adults with drug and alcohol issues in the Buckingham area. The service operates as a partnership between an NHS Trust, MPFT Inclusion, and the well-established charity, Aquarius. Serving over 1,850 adults annually, the service is delivered across several locations, including Aylesbury (40%) and High Wycombe (60%), as well as satellite sites in the region. ORB offers a diverse range of services, utilizing various delivery models— in-person, online, and by phone. The support provided includes needle exchange, counseling, group work, access to detox and rehab, clinical interventions, and psycho-social support. About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)
The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets. This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support. The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night.
About the Role
Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.
Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.
Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.
This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.
You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and be able to support women in a trauma-informed and non-judgemental way. We are looking for someone with energy, resilience, who can increase our reach and positive impact on women.

You’ll need…
- Experience of working withing a front-line delivery team
