Leeds Citizens Advice & Law Centre has been providing free and independent advice for more than 80 years, offering access to justice for people experiencing disadvantage or discrimination. In November 2024, we joined the Law Centres Network and have secured funding to expand our legal advice service.
We’re looking for a Solicitor or CILEx to supervise our housing advice team and legal aid contract. The team offers complex casework and representation to clients facing possession, eviction, serious disrepair and housing issues related to DAV and to anti-social behaviour. You will have 3 years’ PQE in housing law and be able to manage a wide range of cases, as well as experience of working under a legal aid contract, supervising caseworkers, and meeting targets.

Hybrid working is available but this role will require at least 3 days per week in the office. Our modern offices are located in the city centre close to the combined courts and with excellent transport links.

You will need:
- Experience of managing a caseload including complex case management.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s).
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as anti-social behavior, domestic abuse, sexual violence and hate crime.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practices, maintaining records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements.
- Experience of managing a caseload including complex case management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and balancing competing needs and priorities.

About the role:
This role is based in Compass House, Ashford but support will be provided across Kent and Medway
As a Caseworker you will:
- support those affected by crime in understanding and asserting their rights and entitlements
- understand their journey through the criminal justice and legal systems including the Victims Code of Practice
- facilitate access to additional services
- establish healthy coping mechanisms
- provide practical support and information

Complex Case Worker
Location: London
Salary: £26,250 - £34,650 per annum
The post holder will be part of the Insight Platform, Young people’s service and will work with young people who have alcohol related problems, mental health issues and complex needs including drugs, psychological issues, anti-social behaviour, self-harm, or any other co-existing needs. The post holder will improve access to treatment services in the area for this cohort and, will provide a range of interventions for service users in this group including 1 :1 support and group work.
You will bring a creative driven approach to the role and a willingness to build and nurture a successful and dynamic team focussed on delivering excellence and a quality service to promote and enhance the performance and reputation of Waythrough. You will be able to work seamlessly within professional partnerships to deliver outstanding services. An engaging communicator, you will have worked in a similar or NHS setting managing a team working with clients with substance misuse issues and/or complex needs.
