Job purpose

Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, the Fundraising Officer will help support Rosa’s major donor and corporate fundraising at an exciting point in our growth.

Working across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, donor stewardship, events and prospect development, you will play a key role in helping us build strong supporter relationships and grow income to power Rosa’s mission. This is a varied and developmental role, offering the chance to work across every stage of the donor journey while building specialist fundraising skills in a high-ambition, values-led team.

It is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to step up from a fundraising assistant/ coordinator or similar role and take on broader responsibility in a national organisation with a clear purpose. The work you do will help generate funding for Rosa’s grant making, capacity building and influencing work — giving you a direct connection between fundraising and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Excellent stewardship of major donor and corporate relationships, including keeping donors up to date with Rosa’s work through events and meetings, written reports and newsletters
• Manage a portfolio of individual donors, major donors and corporates
• Coordinate and deliver successful in person donor engagement events, currently twice a year with one large event in March and a smaller event in November
• Build a strong prospect pipeline of corporate donors by undertaking prospect research and contributing to new business pitches
• Undertake prospect research and compelling donor briefings for new major donors and new giving circle members (Thrive Network)
• Maintain high quality CRM records to record each stage of donors’ journeys and supporting the transition to a new CRM (Beacon)
• Able to work in a manner consistent with Rosa’s values and principles
• Carry out all aspects of this job description in accordance with policies set out in Rosa’s handbook, paying particular attention to safeguarding, data protection and equality and diversity.

You may also be asked to carry out other tasks that are in line with the responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer.

• Two years’ relevant experience in a fundraising role (working in a role involving prospect research and donor stewardship of High Net Worth Individuals or major donors and/ or corporates)

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant who can provide outstanding strategic and operational support to the CEO of a respected international development organisation. Acting as a trusted partner, you will enable the CEO to focus on organisational leadership, external engagement, fundraising and the delivery of strategic priorities.

The role encompasses complex diary and inbox management, preparation of high-quality briefings and correspondence, Board and governance support, and coordination with senior stakeholders across the organisation and internationally. You will work closely with colleagues, partners and supporters across multiple countries, cultures and time zones, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Executive Office.

 Accountabilities:

Executive and CEO Office Support

• Proactively manage the CEO's diary, inbox and correspondence, exercising independent judgement in prioritising requests and protecting time for strategic priorities.

• Prepare and commission high-quality briefings, background notes, talking points and presentation materials to ensure the CEO is fully prepared for all meetings and engagements.

• Draft, review and quality-assure outgoing correspondence, reports and communications on behalf of the CEO.

• Coordinate and manage complex domestic and international travel arrangements, itineraries, visas and logistics for the CEO and COO, ensuring efficiency and value for money.

• Manage the CEO and COO’s expense reporting and the Executive Office budget, maintaining accurate records and flagging issues proactively.

• Serve as the first point of contact for the CEO's office, managing enquiries from staff, partners, donors and stakeholders with professionalism and discretion.

• Work closely with the Internal Communications and Social Media team lead to ensure CEO internal and external communications are delivered well.

Board and Governance Administration

• Lead the end-to-end administration of Board of Trustee meetings and sub-committees, including scheduling, preparation of Board papers, agenda coordination and minute-taking, utilising AI. The majority are virtual due to the international nature of the board. In-person meetings take place approx. every 18 months.

• Maintain the governance calendar and ensure all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines are met in coordination with the Company Secretary, CEO and COO.

• Support the onboarding of new Trustees and maintain up-to-date records of Board membership, terms of office and declarations of interest.

• Build strong working relationships with Trustees, acting as a responsive and reliable point of contact between Board meetings.

• Assist with the organisation of the Annual General Meeting and other governance events.

Leadership Team Coordination

• Coordinate the Global Leadership Team (GLT) meeting cycle, including agenda-setting, papers, actions and follow-up, working closely with the CEO and members of GLT.

• Support the CEO in tracking GLT action items, strategic priorities and key commitments, flagging issues and ensuring accountability.

• Co-ordinate with Regional and Country Directors on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, including agenda-setting, papers, actions and follow-up,

• Assist with the preparation of materials for all-staff communications, leadership away-days and organisational events.

• Build effective working relationships across Practical Action's global offices, navigating time-zone differences and cultural contexts with sensitivity.

Stakeholder and Partnership Support

• Support the CEO's engagement with major institutional donors, trusts and foundations, bilateral agencies and high-value partners, including managing contact records and briefing materials, liaising closely with the business development and philanthropy teams.

• Coordinate logistics for high-level external visits, delegations, conferences and events involving the CEO.

• Assist with donor stewardship activities and the preparation of materials for fundraising and partnership development.

• Represent the CEO's office professionally in interactions with government officials, international organisations and peer NGOs.

Project and Research Support

• Take on research and project management tasks as directed by the CEO

• Continue to test and utilise AI tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness and share learnings with other members of Practical Action

• Support the delivery of special initiatives and cross-organisational projects led from the Executive Office.

• Maintain confidential files and records management systems for the CEO's office, ensuring compliance with GDPR and information governance policies.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

 Essential

• Significant experience (typically five or more years) as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant supporting a Chief Executive or equivalent senior leaders in a complex and or charitable organisation.

• Demonstrable experience of Board and governance administration, including minuting meetings and managing trustee or director-level relationships.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft high-quality correspondence, briefing papers and presentations to Board or senior stakeholder standard.

• Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain quality under pressure.

• High degree of discretion, confidentiality and professional judgement in handling sensitive information about people, partners and organisational matters.

• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience of coordinating complex international travel and managing logistics across multiple time zones.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), AI tools and the ability to learn new digital tools quickly.

Desirable

• Experience working in an international NGO, development organisation or comparable mission-driven environment.

• Familiarity with funder relationships

• Experience supporting or working in an organisation with offices or programmes in the Global South.

• Knowledge of charity law and UK charity governance, including Charity Commission requirements.

• A second language relevant to Practical Action's programme geographies (e.g. French, Spanish, Arabic).

About the role

This role is pivotal in contributing to the overall mission of RFUK to protect rainforests and support Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

The Programme Support Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring sound management of specific projects in line with strategy, agreed budgets, log frames, work plans and procedures and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including monitoring project implementation and documentation, as well as ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors in collaboration with team members and partners.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) fixed-term role for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The post can be based fully remotely in France or offered as a hybrid role from our London office, with at least 1 day per week in the office. You are a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a background in project management, preferably in the NGO or international development sector. What does this role do?
As PR Officer, you’ll:

• play a key role in the running of our busy press office, responding to requests from journalists swiftly and effectively, underpinned by a strong understanding of PR and reputational risk,
• generate pro-active media coverage for specific campaigns, writing news stories that effectively convey our key messages to journalists and the wider public,
• collaborate with centre-based Media Coordinators and Centre Managers to share positive stories about dogs in their centre, helping spread the word about the amazing work we do,
• work closely with the Public Affairs team on their campaigns, providing PR expertise and support to exciting campaigns such as to end greyhound racing and improve the rights of pet-owning renters.

The Public Interest News Foundation (PINF) is the UK’s first charity that exists to promote high-quality journalism. Last year, we launched an ambitious ten-year mission to regenerate local news in the UK. We believe that local news is a vital part of the fabric of local communities, drawing people together around shared facts and pride in place at a time of disinformation and division.

We are pursuing our mission by (1) sourcing new funds for local news; (2) advocating for supportive government policies; and (3) celebrating local news providers from the UK and around the world that are Accountable, Sustainable, in the Public interest, Innovative, Representative and Engaging (ASPIRE).

Over the last year, we have successfully encouraged the UK Government to launch an unprecedented new £12m Local News Fund. We have also built support for our mission from US and UK donors. Summary of the Role

Title: Programmes Officer

Reporting to: Deputy Director, who will provide overall line management and lead 60% of the Programmes Officer’s work

Working closely with: Campaigns & Communications Manager, who will lead the remaining 40% of the Programme Officer’s work

Purpose of the Role

The Programmes Officer will support the PINF team across our three workstreams: the Local News Fund; Local News Campaign; and Local News Futures programme.

· Through the Local News Fund, we work with grantmakers and social investors (including government-backed fund managers) to unlock new economic resources for local news across the UK.

· Through the Local News Campaign, we work with the BBC, big tech firms, central and local government, MPs, Peers and regulators to shape a positive enabling environment for local news across the UK.

· Through the Local News Futures programme, we work with academics, civil society organisations, journalism support organisations and local news providers to showcase models of local news with the most positive impact.

The Programmes Officer will provide support with events, research and campaigns across these workstreams, and will also provide support with our organisational functions, including communications, fundraising and governance.

By providing efficient and effective support to the team, the Programmes Officer will unlock new potential for PINF to deliver our charitable purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Events

· Support the Deputy Director with the successful delivery of the annual Local News Forum by:

o Maintaining a comprehensive and up to date project plan

o Contributing to the effective marketing of the event within PINF’s network of independent local news providers and stakeholders

o Managing ticket sales and maintaining an accurate database of invitees and participants

o Contributing to effective working relationships with partners and suppliers, including venues and sponsors

o Managing speakers

o Supporting budget administration, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Deputy Director

o Responding promptly and efficiently to queries

o Providing on-the-day support including registering participants, liaising with the venue and catering providers, ensuring smooth technical support and troubleshooting any issues as they arise

Research

· Support the Deputy Director with our research objectives by:

o Organising and minuting twice-yearly online meetings of our Research Advisory Group

o Working with colleagues to ensure the Local News Map is comprehensive and up to date

o Liaising with independent local news providers to support the new Local News Audit

Campaigns

· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our campaign objectives by:

o Managing relationships with independent news providers participating in our annual Indie News Week

o Supporting budget administration for campaign activity, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Campaigns & Communications Manager

o Supporting key campaign moments including parliamentary events, party conferences, roundtables and other online and offline events

o Providing logistical and administrative support for key campaign moments, including by maintaining participant and invitation lists, tracking RSVPs and preparing background information for colleagues

Communications

· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our communications objectives by:

o Managing the ‘contact’ email inbox

o Supporting the delivery of engaging content across PINF’s blog and newsletter, including gathering stories, opportunities and other relevant material, in collaboration with the Campaigns & Communications Manager

o Managing PINF’s social media channels including LinkedIn, BlueSky and Instagram

o Updating elements and pages across our website

o Supporting PINF’s WhatsApp community of independent local news providers by sharing relevant content, helping eligible participants to join, and assisting with day-to-day moderation

Fundraising

· Support the Deputy Director with our fundraising objectives by:

o Maintaining the fundraising database and keeping records up to date based on information provided by colleagues

o Facilitating monthly internal fundraising meetings

Other

· Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Deputy Director

Essential skills and experience

· Experience in an administrative, coordination or project support role

· Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities

Person Specification 

Essential

• Significant experience in a senior operational leadership role, ideally as a COO, Head of Operations or Director of Operations in a charity, social enterprise or purpose-driven organisation.

• Demonstrable track record of building and improving operational infrastructure: systems, processes, policies and ways of working that make organisations more effective and resilient.

• Proven people management experience, including line management of senior staff, performance development, recruitment and team culture-building.

• Strong financial literacy, including experience of budget management, grant compliance, financial reporting and working with a board finance function.

• Experience of leading or supporting governance processes, including board reporting, risk management and compliance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex operational information into clear, accessible reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.

• A genuine, demonstrable commitment to racial equity and an understanding of the specific systemic barriers faced by Black professionals, artists and communities.

• The emotional intelligence and interpersonal skill to lead with care, build trust quickly and navigate complex relationships under pressure.

Desirable

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering impactful marketing campaigns that drive supporter engagement and help generate vital income to support our lifesaving service.

In this role, you will support leading the delivery of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, print and supporter communications. You’ll work closely with teams across fundraising, retail and operations to bring campaigns to life—ensuring they are insight-led, on-brand and deliver measurable results.

You’ll be responsible for planning and executing campaigns from concept through to evaluation, producing engaging content, and continuously optimising performance using data and audience insight. With ownership of campaign messaging and supporter communications, you will help ensure a consistent, compelling experience across all touchpoints.

We're recruiting 2 x Individual Giving Officer roles to join the team.

As an Individual Giving Officer, you will support the Senior Individual Giving Officer in generating and delivering inspiring and motivating marketing and stewardship communications - as well as leading on delegated campaigns and projects, to build engagement with supporters and drive long term support for Mind.

You will deliver marketing campaigns from beginning to end - from writing briefs and working with agencies and internal teams on media, creative, data, print, production, and fulfilment, to collating results and using data and insight to optimise activity and deliver a brilliant supporter experience.

You'll be joining a team of friendly and passionate fundraisers, and you'll be supported to develop your skills and personal development plans in a wellbeing focused environment.

The Individual Giving team is a part of the wider Mass Engagement team, and you will play a pivot role in helping the team to reach and exceed their target of raising over £23 million, so that Mind can fight for timely access to great quality care for all.

About you
