Responsibilities of our Health and Safety Officer: 

- Conduct in-person health & safety and fire risk assessments across centres and shops, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies 

- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyse trends, and recommend preventative actions 

- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, assessments, and incidents in line with data protection requirements 

- Work with colleagues across teams to implement remedial actions from inspections and audits 

- Promote completion of H&S e-learning and identify additional training needs

- Build strong relationships with staff and volunteers to foster a positive safety culture 

- Lead regional H&S Committee meetings and contribute to team discussions and continuous improvement of SHE practices 

- Support wellbeing and mental health awareness by signposting relevant resources 

- Collaborate with colleagues on H&S elements of projects and activities across the charity 

About the Health & Safety and Environment team: 

The team manages most Health and Safety functions in-house and works closely with departments across Cats Protection. It includes a head of department, senior officer, environment and sustainability lead, administrator, and four regional officers covering the UK. The team supports retail outlets, Cat Centres, accident investigations, DSE, and branch volunteer enquiries.

What we’re looking for in our Health and Safety Officer: 

-Lives in or around the South-East of England 

- NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent) and membership of a relevant professional body 

- Significant experience (3+ years post qualification) in a similar health & safety role, ideally in public sector, facilities, or charity setting 

- Experience working across multiple sites 

- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices 

- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels 

- Able to work independently, manage workload, and perform under pressure 

- Organised, pragmatic, and professional with a flexible, positive attitude 

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel 

- Holds a full UK driving license and has access to a vehicle

• Provide on-the-ground support to Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) to increase local engagement and volunteer capacity.

Purpose of Role

The Operations Officer is a varied role that helps keep the charity’s different functions running smoothly. Working closely with a small team a typical day can be a combination of regular tasks involving prompt and careful handling of incoming communications by email, post and telephone call, responding to invoices or payment requests and preparation of letters, contracts or reports. Other tasks such as recruitment support, staff onboarding, events and travel planning are less routine but may be part of your day as and when they occur.

Team co-ordinating

· Manage calendars and appointments, scheduling team meetings, appointments and events.

· Co-ordinate travel plans including booking transport, accommodation and supporting visa application processes.

· Attend quarterly Board meetings, taking minutes.

· Assist in the preparation and distribution of Board materials.

· Track charity assets and equipment, liaising with outsourced IT support as necessary.

HR Support

· Lead on fulfilment of recruitment campaigns, organising the recruitment pack, placing job adverts, handling applications, arranging interviews and tests.

· Issue contracts, contract variations, ensure signed records and references are filed.

· Prepare the induction of new joiners including introductory meetings and issuing equipment.

· Storing safeguarding records.

· Handle incoming invoices and payment requests, obtaining authorisation from budget holders.

· Prepare a bi-weekly payment run for international payments.

· Support the SMT with expense claims.

· Update the charity’s finance systems and file financial documents in SharePoint.

· Prepare Gift Aid claims, including utilising the charity’s CRM function.

Administration

· Manage personal and shared email accounts.

· Monitor and route incoming post.

· Answer incoming telephone calls, arranging a rota basis with colleagues.

· Preparing and issuing contracts, letters, reports or similar for signatures, including by Docusign.

· Keep all information confidential and comply with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements.

We are now looking for a skilled Marketing Officer to contribute to and deliver effective marketing campaigns to help meet the organisation's core strategic objectives. This is an exciting role within the Marketing and Communications team and a fantastic opportunity to join an historic organisation, the home of the iconic Chelsea Pensioners since 1692.

The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset and relevant experience of managing delivering impactful multi-channel campaigns and email marketing for a range of audiences, and ideally at a nationally recognised organisation within the military, charity, cultural or public sectors.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be delivering a range of digital and traditional marketing campaigns for stakeholders across fundraising, commercial and heritage parts of the organisation – including the Chelsea Pensioners Veterans Outreach programme, which aims to combat loneliness and isolation in older veterans across the UK.

You’ll drive our delivery of e-newsletters and supporter journeys through dot digital, and report on trends and insights in order for us to learn and improve.

We want someone who is:

• A skilled and confident executor, who is experienced in consumer marketing and promoting a wide range of projects including public events to the right audiences.
• A confident email marketeer, with experience of welcome and supporter journeys and supporter e-newsletters.
• Creative in crafting compelling marketing content to deliver effective, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
• Experience of working with a range of partners to help raise awareness and engagement, as well as suppliers such as designers and photographers.
• Relevant marketing experience in a military, charity, cultural or public organisation would be particularly advantageous.

We have an opportunity for a dedicated Case Officer to join our South West casework team to manage and provide direct support, advice, and guidance to RBL beneficiaries across Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight on a wide range of issues including health, social care, employment, benefits, statutory support, and housing.

Based in a friendly and established team, your role will be to ensure that beneficiaries receive appropriate welfare support and advice in an integrated and seamless way, providing a person-centred solution based on a thorough analysis of circumstances and needs.

Reporting to the area Casework Services Manager, key responsibilities will include:

- Manage casework support, providing direct support, advice and guidance to beneficiaries,
- Assess beneficiaries’ needs and draw on support from the regional specialist team and other providers as necessary, ensuring that support is made available in an integrated way that best meets the beneficiaries’ needs
- Support the Casework Services Manager and Head of Welfare in better understanding the needs of the beneficiaries in your area to inform the commissioning of specialist services
- Advise beneficiaries of support which may be available to them and assist them in accessing this support as necessary
- Work in close collaboration with other providers of welfare support services within the local area, developing an understanding of each other’s services to facilitate appropriate referrals and support
- Develop effective working relationships with other Legion services within the area in question (e.g Specialist Service teams, Recovery team, Branch Community Support supporters, care homes, Remembrance.).

The role is primarily homebased and will have regular travel around the Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight area for meetings and visiting beneficiaries, therefore you will need to live in a location that allows reasonable travel around this area. There will also be occasional travel nationally to attend training or meetings.

A valid UK Driving Licence is an essential requirement for this role. The successful applicant will require an Enhanced DBS check to be undertaken as part of the pre employment checks process.

The Trusts and Foundations team is working towards an income target of £1.3m in 2026 to 2027, with planned growth to £2.1m by 2029 to 2030.

Well Adapt is a social enterprise reimagining health and social care through the lens of disability justice.

Disabled and chronically ill people are regularly abandoned by health and social care systems leading to completely avoidable pain, hardship and death. 

Well Adapt supports chronically ill people to manage symptoms like pain and fatigue. We work with policymakers, healthcare providers, and communities to build health and social care systems grounded in disability justice – recognising that intersecting marginalisations such race, gender, class, and sexuality all shape how people experience health and care.

Location and Working Hours:

As this is primarily a support role to the CEO, your working hours will need to take place during the CEO’s working hours of between 10am – 6pm Monday to Friday. They currently take place on Thursday and Friday mornings but this may be negotiable depending on the availability of the rest of the team. Other meetings between you and the CEO will be negotiated depending on mutual availability.

The role will primarily take place remotely with occasional optional in-person meetings, negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
