Campaign for Better Transport is the leading national charity championing the need for integrated, sustainable and affordable transport. This role will play a significant part in our Policy and Research team and will be responsible for developing and evidencing our policy work to underpin our campaigning, influencing and communications.
The successful candidate will have experience in policy research, a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research, the ability to develop and utilise appropriate research methods and excellent data analysis skills. They will also have an understanding of Westminster, national, regional and local policy development and delivery processes.
We are open to levels of seniority between officer and manager level, and will appoint the most suitable person to the post, depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research
- Managing and working on research projects that utilise both quantitative and qualitative methods, including drafting and analysing surveys, statistical data analysis, and organising and leading focus groups and expert workshops
- Drafting written reports, including analysis of the research findings and the policy context, and developing recommendations for policymakers.
- Policy
- Developing and disseminating the charity’s policy positions based on robust evidence and analysis
- Managing the delivery of written materials including policy briefings, letters, consultation responses and inquiry submissions.
- External facing
- Supporting external communications, including blog writing and acting as a media spokesperson
- Maintaining effective working relationships and attending meetings with key partners and stakeholders
- Representing the charity externally at conferences, roundtables and other events.
Person specification
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An undergraduate qualification (transport, policy or politics related would be a bonus)
- Experience in a similar role (a minimum of one year for the Policy Researcher role, including internships, and three years for the Policy Research Manager role)
- Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and ability to develop and utilise appropriate research methods
- Excellent data analysis skills (ability to use data analytical tools desirable)
- Ability to lead workshops and roundtables
- Understanding of Westminster, national, regional and local policy development and delivery processes
- Understanding of the major issues in sustainable transport (desirable for the Policy Researcher role and essential for the Policy Research Manager role)
- Experience of working effectively with stakeholders from different sectors
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly

- Confident public speaker and ability to persuade and network effectively

- Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
- Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the public and colleagues within The Charity.

The Programme Officer is a newly created role to respond to the needs of the new strategy. They will manage strategic charity partnerships and deliver programmes and projects that support youth employability across the UK. Whilst managing partners and projects, this role will report on impact data, communicate the purpose and impact of DHL UK Foundation, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
* Partnership Management: Project manage, support and build strong relationships with strategic charity partners to maximise the impact of grant funding, monitor progress and performance against agreed metrics and prepare reports.
* Project Management: Deliver projects that leverage DHL's expertise and resources to support charity partners and the young people they serve; support the employee volunteering programme, GoTeach, to ensure it meets objectives and delivers impact.

The Programme Officer will have experience working in partnership with charities and managing projects in the charity or corporate responsibility sector. You will have a passion for making a difference to the lives of underserved young people and be able to demonstrate strong relationship management and communication skills. You will have an analytical approach with data reporting experience, and strong organisational skills and proficient in utilising Microsoft suite including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be able to think critically to innovate, and problem solve and be able to work independently and collaboratively, both in the office and remotely.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of youth employability and social mobility in the UK, experience of communicating and presenting to stakeholders in the corporate sector, familiarity with CRM or impact measurement tools and experience with corporate volunteering.
The role is hybrid so you will be based from home for part of the week but you will be happy and committed to travel to DHL UK Foundation offices 2-3 times a week in either Staines, London or Milton Keynes, either by car or by public transport. Travel expenses are covered but you will need to live in reasonable commutable distance to one of these locations (ideally Staines or London). Access to a car, whilst not essential, would be helpful for you for this role.

The Role
In this role, you will support the Finance Manager in providing a proactive, efficient, and highly effective finance service across the Diocesan Board of Finance and Trust custodian company, as well as supporting the larger finance team who look after the Board of Education.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and confident Supporter Care Administrator to provide an excellent supporter care service for the Fundraising Campaigns and Individual Giving team.
You will be the primary contact point for our supporters, prospective supporters and the public, taking responsibility and ownership for each enquiry, providing answers to questions relating primarily to donations and fundraising activities. You will:
- Take full ownership, responding effectively to all enquiries, interactions and complaints received on our fundraising activities, by email, phone and letter.

The role/ responsibilities:
The Head of Supporter Engagement will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing relationships with both existing and prospective supporters of Noah’s Ark. You will be responsible for ensuring an outstanding supporter experience—one that makes individuals feel valued, engaged, and fully informed about the impact of their donations.
This role involves developing and implementing effective strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship, while leading multi-channel communications that connect supporters with the cause. About you:
- Experience of developing supporter engagement opportunities and stewardship journeys for tens of thousands of supporters at least
- Experience of running an Community Giving, Individual Giving programme, incorporating Legacy Giving, raising at least £0.5m per annum
- Experience of managing a team to deliver exceptional results
- Successful experience of leading direct fundraising marketing campaigns across a range of channels including direct mail, email, social media and telephone
- Experience of highly successful relationship building with a portfolio of supporters, including through face-to-face meetings and telephone conversations

The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join the team as an Events Officer, reporting directly to the Events Manager. You will support participants who have their own place in challenge events such as runs, walks and cycles as well as other third-party organised events.
Main duties will include:
- Providing effective support to the events team, contributing towards the ambitious five-year Community and Events team strategy.
- Carrying out research, updating event collateral and supporting the team with event organisation and delivery including on-the-day support.
- Providing engaging stewardship to event participants and lapsed supporters.
- Recruiting participants and delivering excellent stewardship for a variety of third-party challenge events, including skydives, walks, cycle rides and runs whilst meeting set income targets.
The Person
We are looking for someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in a customer service or client facing role. You must be confident with excellent attention to detail. We are also looking for a team player, who is experienced in working to targets and committed to delivering results. You will require the ability to juggle multiple projects, and be organised working on your own initiative. While experience in an events fundraising role would be advantageous, we are also keen to speak with people with events management experience and a sound knowledge of fundraising looking to develop a career in the charity sector.
Please note that this role will involve attending events in the evenings and weekends. You will be required to have a full UK driving license, and access to your own vehicle.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Senior Supporter Journeys Executive to help us shape how our supporters experience our charity. Working at the heart of the Individual Giving team, you’ll design and deliver engaging, insight-led journeys that build loyalty, reduce attrition, and encourage long-term support.
This is an exciting time for the charity as we're delivering a new 3-year fundraising strategy with a particular focus on loyalty. In this newly created role, you'll play a key part in making sure every touchpoint, from the first welcome to ongoing engagement, feels personal, timely, and meaningful.
You'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-channel journeys for both new and existing supporters, coordinating the creation of journeys from various channels to help increase conversion. You’ll also support the design and rollout of journeys for key segments, including legacy enquirers and tribute fund donors.
Working with our data and insight colleagues, you’ll monitor journey performance using key metrics like retention and lifetime value. You'll use our CRM and Email Service Provider to identify opportunities, track activity, and coordinate testing of messaging and value propositions to maximise engagement.
As a key collaborator, you’ll work with colleagues across the organisation and with external agencies to ensure our supporter journeys are joined up and focused on the individual.
What we want from you
This role is a great fit for someone with experience in Individual Giving, donor stewardship, or similar supporter experience roles. You'll have a strong understanding of what drives loyalty and retention, and a clear grasp of donor lifetime value.
Your project coordination skills will be essential as you manage multiple priorities across teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient delivery. We need someone who’s comfortable working with data and insight to inform decisions, using CRMs (ideally Raiser’s Edge) and email platforms like Adestra to improve supporter journeys and campaign performance. You'll also have a good working knowledge of direct marketing concepts and multi-channel delivery, including mail, email, and digital.
We're looking for an independent thinker who can not only manage projects but also proactively identify and develop new opportunities from their own observations. With your collaborative mindset, you'll be able to work effectively across teams and adapt to changing priorities, always focused on delivering an exceptional supporter experience that's insight-led and truly impactful.
