Job summary for Head of Health Information and Education

The Head of Health Information and Education is a key role at Bowel Cancer UK, leading the delivery of our health information and health professional education. We currently provide high quality support, but we know we need to do even more, reach more people and have an even greater impact.

The Head of Health Information and Education will, alongside our Clinical Lead, lead the development and delivery of our services in this area. This is a pivotal role with key areas of focus:

• Drive innovation in health information.
• Drive innovation in the content and delivery of health professional education.
• Expand our reach and accessibility to ensure no one faces bowel cancer alone.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders.
• Champion technology and digital solutions to enhance service delivery.

You’ll work closely with the Director and the Services Leadership team to set strategic direction and ensure our services are impactful, inclusive, and evidence based.

Overview

We’re looking for a strong bid writer to join our successful national Business Development Team as a Business Development Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in business development within a successful team that prioritises social impact, development and progression. About the role

Change Grow Live is a health and social care charity. Across the country, we support people to make positive changes in their lives, including around drug and alcohol use, smoking, homelessness and criminal justice.

As a Business Development Officer, you’ll play a key part in helping us secure new contracts and deliver high‑quality services for adults, children and young people. You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation to develop excellent written material for bids and proposals. This role offers a great opportunity to learn and develop while using your established skills, and you’ll be encouraged to take on more responsibility as you progress.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Writing and editing multiple complex bid responses within live tenders
• Working with colleagues across the organisation to gather information and evidence
• Project managing smaller bids and proposals with support from a Senior Business Development Officer or Business Development Manager
• Completing online research, analysing data and collating evidence
• Creating presentations, diagrams and reports
• Helping improve how we do things.

About you

We’re looking for candidates with proven experience of writing tenders, proposals or grant applications, or writing in other professional or academic environments, for instance journalism, research or marketing.

The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal and Governance, the Legal and Governance Business Partner will lead on the provision of support to the charity’s staff and volunteers on all legal and governance matters.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and values-led Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead East London Waterworks Park in this next phase of our development. This is a rare opportunity to shape the first paid executive leadership role in a pioneering environmental charity.

An important aspect of the role will involve introducing a sustainable staffing model that complements and develops East London Waterworks Park’s existing volunteer ecosystem, and strengthens our culture, vision and values. In this new role, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the Policy, Research and Consultancy team’s evidence base and enhance our capacity to generate meaningful insights. • Strong experience of systems mapping and workshop facilitation, with openness to using AI tools to support stakeholder mapping and scenario modelling. 
• Experience working with large data sets or administrative data.
• Understanding of, or interest in learning about, loneliness, social isolation and issues that affect isolated and lonely older people.
• A dedicated place to work in your home with sufficient broadband for permanent Wi-Fi and access to multiple cloud-based systems. 

Desirable                     

• Proven experience (3+years) in impact measurement, evaluation frameworks, or outcomes-based reporting, with the ability to integrate AI-supported analysis where appropriate. 
• Knowledge of social research methods and statistical techniques.
• Familiarity with data governance, ethics, and responsible data use, including awareness of emerging considerations related to AI.
• AI fluent or willingness to become AI fluent, with a commitment to applying AI responsibly. 
• A degree in a relevant field. 
• Experience of working in a charity and/or with grant funded projects.

All staff join a regional staff group, to facilitate staff consultation and face to face contact, depending on where you live.
