Having gained expert knowledge in sector-wide restricted funding grant management, you are looking for a role that will let you develop your skills and give you the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world. This Grant Management Advisor role with ActionAid international is the opening you are looking for.

At ActionAid International we help people to use their own power to fight poverty and injustice. We want you to support the delivery of our new grants management system (the Contract Management System – CMS) and Grants Management handbook. These initiatives are being implemented to enable our Federation to effectively manage an increasingly complex portfolio of donor-funded projects that will help diversify our income.

Working alongside the Country Implementation Manager you will provide surge country capacity support to embed the new CMS and the Grants Management handbook tool in each member of our Federation. You will focus on ensuring the new system can help members to improve practices and processes around the raising and management of restricted funds. You will champion best practice, ensure new working practices are effectively embedded and develop a strong capacity building and learning programme around grant management. You will get involved in system project training too.

This role will be the key global standard setting lead for the Federation on restricted funding grant management process and practice. The ability to act as our representative in external NGO networks and other initiatives to broaden perspectives on industry trends on grant management. This is a key priority role, given the increased levels of restricted income in the Federation.

You must have a strong understanding of restricted funding donor requirements and experience of managing restricted funding donors through a donor grant or contract. You will also be expert in sector-wide restricted funding grant management standards, best practice, policies, systems, processes, compliance and tools. This means you will be used to using NGO Online or other similar grants management tools. You will have worked in an INGO and been involved in change management and capacity building activities too.

Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders at all levels of seniority, you will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and will have an understanding of how to work within complex federated structures. You will also be flexible to travel as needed.

If you have the skills, motivation and technical knowledge to drive effective grant management at ActionAid please send your CV and motivation letter to us via the link by 27 November 2019
