Job description

Relate Mid Surrey, the leading provider of relationship support services across the region, is seeking a Chief Executive that can help support the local community with their relationships.

Relationships with family, partners, friends, and colleagues play a big part in how happy we are, and when they aren’t healthy, we suffer. Relate is here to develop and support relationships particularly by helping couples, families, individuals, young people to make their relationships work better through counselling or mediation

We are a thriving and successful charity with have two centres, a charity shop and we operate within seven local schools.

As part of the national federation of Relate, we are an independent local charity with a turnover of around £400k and deliver around 5000 hours of high-quality counselling per year. From early in the pandemic, we have successfully transferred our work from face-to-face services to online webcam counselling services and aim to have a mixed blend of both services. Over the years we have established an exemplary team of supportive and conscientious workforce, with 35 employees and 45 volunteers.

To be considered for this post you must have proven management experience, professionalism, the ability to implement projects and plans to achieve targets and results, excellent communication skills, and the energy and commitment necessary to lead a busy charity at a key time in its development.

We expect candidates to demonstrate an understanding of the kind of services Relate provides and a passion and commitment to our social purpose.
