Location: SIA House, Milton Keynes
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

About the role
In this role you will provide operational and administrative support to the Finance, people & operations team and play a key role in the day-to-day running and continuous improvement of SIA House, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming and efficient working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Take a lead role in the efficient day-to-day running of SIA House, ensuring it is safe, secure, clean, and well presented.
- Support the management and upkeep of office space, facilities, and resources, including contributing to ongoing improvements and upgrade.
- Coordinate and prepare facilities for internal and external meetings, including welcoming visitors.
- Assist in regular supplier an contract reviews to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Play an active role in supporting and delivering SIA’s sustainability strategy and help minimise the organisation’s environmental footprint.
- Contribute to cross-organisational operational projects as needed.
- Act as a keyholder for SIA House.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to directors and senior leaders.
- Assist with meeting logistics, including diary management, travel and accommodation bookings, catering and room set-up.

What You'll Do

- Build relationships with key stakeholders including members, committees, and international TA organisations
- Lead the delivery of our annual National Conference and quarterly magazine
- Recruit, develop, and manage our small team, fostering a positive work culture
- Ensure compliance with charity regulations and governing organisational policies and procedures
- Function as Company Secretary, handling legal requirements and annual reporting
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strategic vision with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get involved in practical delivery. You'll be:
- An experienced senior leader with understanding of the non-profit sector
- A strategic thinker who also excels at practical implementation
- Financially astute with proven budget management experience
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships

- Knowledgeable about the mental health sector (desirable)

They are now seeking a new Head of Finance, who will be a pro-active member of the Senior Leadership Team and actively contribute to the smooth running and ongoing development of the organisation. The Head of Finance will provide effective leadership of the financial management of EVC, across both the social enterprise and charitable objectives, as well as overseeing administrative and IT support, working closely with the IT support provider and the Administration Assistant to achieve good operational performance.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or part qualified with significant relevant experience.

- 3+ years’ experience in a senior management / leadership role.
- Experience of managing in house payroll systems, including HMRC and pension requirements.

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the role is focused on generating and developing monthly management accounts information and providing insight and direction to the Director General and Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the ‘Head of Finance and Organisation Development’, the Management Accountant will play a key role across the business in improving data capture and managing reporting across the team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Preparing monthly management accounts, including comparatives to budgets, trends and forecasts
· Compiling Balance sheet reconciliations
· Preparing quarterly Project ‘Income and Expenditure’ reports for Project Managers
· Preparing interim/final financial Project reports for submission to Funders
· Preparing quarterly VAT returns
· Providing accurate and timely financial information to support the organisational financial strategy and decision-making process
· Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed and reported correctly
· Streamlining and improving accounting systems, controls and process environment
· Reviewing and updating current suite of organisational policies
· Preparing annual budget
