About the role

We are currently looking for an Assistant Support Worker (known internally as Duty Worker) to join our team in Lewisham. 

Newstead Road is a high support mental health service offering support to clients with long-term enduring mental health needs. Our team of 9 permanent staff support people in a trauma-informed and personalised way.

In this role you will:

  • Work on a shift-based pattern (including sleep-in shifts) to support with the day to day running of the project, working closely with project workers, managers and a variety of internal and external professionals.
  • Oversee setting weekly H&S tasks, managing repairs, leading on and planning day to day appointments.
  • Oversee service activities and client involvement
  • Support residents in a person-centre and trauma informed way, supporting them to attend/book appointments with services
  • Support residents with employment, training, and education opportunities.
  • Support residents to develop any daily living and life skills

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
