We’re looking for a youth worker to plan, deliver and facilitate educational and cultural activities to separated children (up to 21 years old) in the context of an interactive youth club held weekly in partnership with CARAS (Community Action for Refugees & Asylum Seekers) in South West London. Although you will prepare and deliver the materials, you will be supported by the Programme Coordinator from CARAS, along with CARAS volunteers.

About the Role

As a Floating Support Worker, you will work with adults who have experienced homelessness to help them maintain their accommodation and improve their quality of life. Supporting people across the seven West London boroughs, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support that empowers people to live more independently.

Key Deliverables include:

• Interview and assess clients in order to determine suitability for the service.

• Following initial assessment to go through a programme of work with clients accepted to cover accommodation needs, independent living skills, support with work and learning and social and emotional issues, then subsequent referrals to relevant agencies.

• Where clients have moved in to accommodation, the worker will provide support through a programme of regular visits.  These may include support and advice or more structured life-skills training as required.

• To be available to deal with clients who need help or advice, either by phone or on a drop-in basis.

• Create a package of support around the client, signposting where appropriate.

• To be available to represent Depaul UK at meetings concerning the client, supporting or advocating on their behalf.

• Keep clear and relevant records and statistics, and to ensure good communication with the project workers and project evaluators.

• Make a positive contribution to team meetings, Case management meetings and make a contribution to any policy reviews and consultations.

About You

You’ll be committed to supporting vulnerable people to build their confidence and independence. You’ll also bring:

• Able to work on own initiative but at same time able to exercise sound judgement in knowing when to consult with peers and clients to meet the service KPI’s

• A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements.

• Awareness of and commitment to equal opportunity and diversity practise. Ability to promote and implement diversity practice and policies and treat colleagues and clients fairly and with respect.

To be successful in this role you will have experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging environment, ideally involving offenders and/or their families. You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load. Oasis Southampton City Farm is a community focused registered charity working in Southampton. We provide a range of supportive, wellbeing boosting, and nature-based activities for our communities, which include young people and adult learners with disabilities.

We are looking for sessional farm assistants who will support the Farm Lead in delivering the vision for the farm by supporting the delivery of the farm’s variety of activities, including:

 · To deliver youth activities on the farm, supporting young people to help care for the animals

· To deliver birthday parties on weekends to groups of up to 30,

· To deliver animal experiences, giving families the opportunity to meet and greet our rescued and rehomed animals

· To support our adult day service with caring for our animals

· To support with the animal cleaning and feeding rota, alongside groups or individuals.

· To support with the running of our café, which runs on the weekends. Working alongside our youth volunteers to serve refreshments and food.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

· Relevant qualifications and experience in animal management/public sector

· Relevant qualifications and experience in youth work, teaching, or community based projects

· The flexibility to work across the week, including some weekends.

· Excellent verbal communication skills

· Proven ability to work alongside others in projects that work with the public.

· Punctuality, reliability, and honesty.

About the Service

Ella House supports women facing multiple disadvantage experiences, intersectional problems including homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health. These women can fall through the gaps between services and systems, making it harder for them to address their challenges and lead fulfilling lives. At Ella house the goals are to support clients with multiple/complex needs, recognising the emotional and compound trauma that accompany and, in many cases, precede an individual becoming homeless.

Ella House provides support through empowering women with independence, inclusion, peer support and wellbeing by bringing diverse expertise and approaches.

The service delivers holistic support, where people are seen for their full combination of strengths, capacities and experiences. We recognise how women, as individuals, want to be supported to define and work towards their goals. This looks different for everyone and will require staff to be patient, observant, creative and committed to trying a range of approaches.

About the Role

Specialist Support Workers provide support services to women affected by multiple disadvantage, who have experienced domestic and /or sexual violence and who have mental ill health and/or use substances.

You will ensure the smooth running of the refuge, including the processing and admission of new referrals, ensuring rent and personal charges are paid, rooms, general housekeeping and organising repairs and responding to crisis situations. You will work with women to devise a Support Plan that meets their immediate practical and emotional needs and start the process of recovery, linking women to more specialist support services where required.  You will work in a trauma informed way and ideally have a background in supporting people with significant mental ill-health and or substance use issues.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of multiple disvantages and its impact on women as well as having experience of providing emotional and practical support to clients struggling with homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies. 

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

In addition to case management you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the accommodation.  You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.
