We are recruiting for a Childrens Support Volunteer to provide supervision for approximately 1-4 children of varying ages during our monthly co-production meetings at Head Office. Parents and staff will be just next door for support if this is needed at any time. Face-to-Face Volunteers play a vital part at EOPFS as they work closely with the Service Manager to meet the needs of the service along with supporting Floating Support Workers.

The primary purpose of the Face-to-Face Volunteer would be to support our Ealing Community Discharge Service when we have referrals. The Volunteer will assist the Service Manager in facilitating a discharge from hospital back to their home address. An example of this would be to support the Service User with getting groceries so that food is available for them when they are discharged.

What you will be doing

• Taking calls to assess the risks and needs of the women fleeing from domestic abuse whilst under supervision/guidance of the Referral Line Worker and the Service Manager
• To use a range of skills and tools to make phone conversations with women effective and empowering
• To provide women with knowledge of how to access refuge space and other types of support with the aid of a trained staff team
• General admin support: typing, taking notes, filing, scanning documents, keeping accurate records on our digitalised client management syste
• To develop positive relationships with staff members and women whilst promoting self-care

Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) is South Lanarkshire’s Third Sector Interface.

Our dedicated team play a crucial role in being a source of knowledge, connecting partners, being a voice for the sector and supporting local organisations to build capacity. We want to build resilient and enabled communities to create a stronger, fairer, and more equitable South Lanarkshire with volunteers, Social Enterprises, and community organisations at its heart.

Our Board of Trustees are volunteers and provide strategic direction, offer advice, and ensure our work and activities continue to advance our objectives.

Who we need 

We are looking for several new trustees to join our board. We are currently looking for well-rounded board members with a mix of skills, experiences, and perspectives. No previous experience is necessary, and we want to welcome a range of applicants, especially from young professionals and community leaders.

Time commitment 

Board members are required to attend bi-monthly board meetings (either in person or virtually) along with our yearly Annual General Meeting. Additionally, you will support your fellow trustees and staff on an ad hoc basis.

This is an unpaid voluntary role, but we will pay travel expenses.

QMC Capoeira is looking for a Volunteer Video Editor who would love to support a community organisation undertake an international martial arts tournament and Brazilian Cultural Festival Project related work. The role is to start ASAP and finish mid – late November.

QMC Capoeira is a martial arts school based in London that has been running since 2006, has academy in Canada and the Dominican Republic and is the most awarded Capoeira School in the UK.

 The objective of the role is to:

• Work on highlights videos from events, workshops, and classes, promo videos, mini-documentaries, and micro shorts.
• Videos will be about Capoeira, martial arts, sports, and fitness, and an interest in any or all of these things is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in creating videos for social media, particularly for Instagram and TikTok, are also desirable.

This role is fully remote.

 Skills and attributes:

· Demonstrate experience with Adobe Premier

· Demonstrate some experience with Final Cut (not essential, but an advantage)

· Demonstrate some video production experience 

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. We are looking for a team player, who is able to support our board to grow the charity over the next few years. Our aim is to break down barriers which prevent people accessing the arts – as well as enriching our community with our workshops, community events and gallery space. We are a passionate and dedicated team in need of support embedding new procedures, strategies and development plans to help the charity grow. We’re a charity awarding £1,000 grants to people of colour based in the UK who want to bring a new creative project to life. We support creativity in all its forms including: poetry, paintings, fashion, zines, music, food, flowers, photographs, workshops, events or something else completely.

Brief:

We need a volunteer to help neurodivergent applicants or applicants with long term illness write their applications. 

An important distinction is to be made here - your role is to help someone write a clear application. You are not here to help them develop their idea or to turn it into something it’s not.

2. Why is now the right time to do it? (100 words)

3. What is your budget? 

These answers are then marked against a criteria which can be found on our website (which we can share with you). 

Process: 

We will ask applicants to come to you with bullet points for ideas of what their project is. This is the minimum; some may come with a written application that needs tweaking. 

You will then read through what they have and help write clearer sentence structures. While we try not to judge on things like grammar and spelling, this does often help clarify the project’s ambitions. 

The aim is to work in a collaborative Google Doc, but if that is not possible, we will explore other options. 

Keep sentences simple and to the point. We need to be sold on your vision, but it doesn’t need to be overwritten. Using simple and straightforward language helps give us clarity on your project.

We will allow applicants up to two rounds of feedback - meaning you can work on the application a maximum of three times. We ask applicants to group their feedback.

EQUAL AQUA is an award-winning NGO providing equal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Uganda. Equal Aqua is managed by an international team of volunteers, based mainly in the UK and Uganda. Our mission is to tackle inequalities in access to WASH by providing safe and sustainable WASH facilities and services to those that need it most.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are recruiting a new Fundraising Manager in order to grow the charity's income and impact, enabling us to reach more communities and transform more lives. Specifically, we are looking for a person with good experience in fundraising or income generation - ideally in the WASH and international development sectors - to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy to grow EAU into a NGO with a seven-figure annual income. We are seeking someone that is able to give a substantial time commitment and ability to manage an international fundraising team.

ROLE: Fundraising Manager (volunteer; part-time: 1-2 days a week)

The role of the Fundraising Manager:

• Oversee development and implementation of Equal Aqua's fundraising strategy in line with business objectives, and the vision and values of EAU;
• Lead an international team of volunteers to execute the fundraising strategy, delegating and managing responsibilities as appropriate;
• Lead EAU Fundraising team to raise income through multiple channels: grant and charitable foundation applications, corporate sponsorship, individual and community giving, and creative fundraising events;
• Manage EAU’s multi-country campaign(s) to secure new donors;
• Manage a portfolio of existing supporters, providing exceptional supporter care and building relationships, stewarding and nurturing existing donors;
• Improve supporter retention and maximise donors’ lifetime value to EAU;
• Monitor developments in the funding world/landscape and identify opportunities to bid for funding.
• Coordinate applications to grant givers and foundations whose criteria match Equal Aqua's aims and activities;

We are keen to recruit a diverse Board with a mix of skills and perspectives to ensure effective governance, supportive challenge, sound decision-making and membership that reflects our wider community.

We are currently seeking applications in particular from those with experience in health and life sciences, digital, STEM disciplines, HR/people management, sustainability and green skills manufacturing but we operate in a fast-moving environment and would encourage applications from all individuals with a passion for education whatever their skill set.

Our Board members (Governors) are vital to guaranteeing our students’ success. They help ensure that the College offers the best qualifications and has the most up to date resources, so our students develop the skills and knowledge that employers want.

As a Board member you will use your skills and experience to help our senior leaders shape the College’s strategy and meet our vision of becoming a leading provider of Further and Higher Education in the North East region, nationally and internationally. You will contribute to the College’s wider strategic plan including finance, estates, IT, HR, curriculum and student experience and help us make the big decisions that will drive the future direction of the College.

It's an exciting time to join the Board with a number of major initiatives in development as we continue to grow our high quality professional technical and general education provision and invest in our fantastic facilities.

Commitment:

Estimated time needed is up to five hours per month.

Six corporation meetings per year plus Annual Strategic Planning Day / one to two committee meetings per term. Meetings are usually 4.00pm to 6.00pm. Meetings are usually in person, with the option of online attendance where required.
