Personal Assistant to the Principal
(with a focus on fundraising & development support)
Location: Tyndale House, Cambridge (Hybrid working considered)
Hours: Minimum 22.5 hours/3 days per week (with flexibility up to full time hours)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 FTE (dependent on experience) & competetive benefits

Our Principal is looking for a Personal Assistant who has the initiative to drive projects forward and is highly organised. This is an exciting new role within a vibrant and growing Charity. The successful candidate will provide strong executive support to the Principal as he seeks to further develop the organisation’s outputs.
Tyndale House is a renowned institute for biblical studies and possesses one of the finest libraries for biblical research in the world. It aims to grow an international research community, to present the value of the Bible at the highest academic level, to resource the Church to understand and trust the Bible, and to promote informed attitudes to the Bible.
The role of Personal Assistant to the Principal will provide the Principal with proactive and confidential project-related and administrative support, with a particular focus on development and fundraising activities. Our current annual expenditure on charitable activities is around £1.3m and we rely on donations and receive no public subsidy. The Principal therefore acts as both the head of the Charity as well as the primary fundraiser.
The post-holder will possess strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the tenacity to follow work through to completion. He/she should have experience in a previous PA and/or fundraising & development role, ideally within the Charity sector.
There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be an active, practising, evangelical Christian in agreement with the doctrinal basis of Tyndale House and living in accord with our Ethos Statement (permitted under schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).

Junior Legal Counsel/Paralegal
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel or Paralegal who is flexible, adaptable and willing to take on a variety of legal and administrative tasks.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Location: London
Salary: Up to circa £53K
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
You will be providing direct support and assistance to the Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel in providing advice and appropriate action on day to day legal, commercial and compliance issues. In doing so, you will also support the wider, international organisation in pursuing its mission at International Headquarters and Territorial level. This will be a broad role giving the successful candidate interesting insight into and experience of the international work of charity.
This role will initially be on a one-year fixed term basis, with the potential to move to a permanent contract. We would be happy to consider candidates who wish to work on a part time basis of four days a week.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- NQ-5 PQE experience if a qualified lawyer or 5 or more years of paralegal experience with requisite commercial/third sector experience. We would be willing to consider lawyers with more PQE provided that they demonstrate a willingness to undertake tasks of an administrative/’junior’ nature;
- Experience of working in a busy legal team, either in house or in private practice;
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;
- Experience of reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements;
- Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and advise accordingly;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Good IT skills;
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a multi-discipline environment;
- Ability to apply commercial knowledge of legal affairs within an international charity context;
- Empathy with the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army and people of faith;
- Willingness to go the extra mile to get the best results;
- Ability to be flexible to meet the various demands of the role.

About the Role
The Kennet and Test Valley Methodist Circuit in North West Hampshire and West Berkshire offers a warm welcome to visitors at any one of our six Churches where we worship in a variety of different styles. Our mission is to proclaim and reflect the love of God in all that we do.
We are looking for someone who has a passion and expertise for delivering care home ministry. The main focus of this role will be to work with us to continue developing a sustainable care home ministry. We have a desire to further extend our outreach into other care homes in the area from which it is anticipated there will be missional and development opportunities. There may also be further pastoral opportunities within the Newbury area.
This role is an important part of promoting our mission to Hungerford, Newbury & Thatcham and as such has a genuine occupational requirement that the post‑holder is a practising Christian (as outlined by 2010 Equality Act, Section 9).
About You
You should have a nationally recognised biblical, theological or practical mission qualification or equivalent experience evidenced for the role.
You should have the ability to demonstrate an awareness of pastoral issues affecting older people and the kinds of support that could be appropriate and an understanding of the Church’s work with mission amongst older people.
You should have proven experience of working in a pastoral context within a church or community groups in a paid or voluntary capacity in previous roles. This is an essential criteria.
You should have excellent people skills, good organisational ability and be adept at creative thinking.
