The strategic growth manager is responsible for creating and carrying out business development work across the charity, with a primary focus on grants and public sector tender opportunities, as well as managing a team with their own growth targets in distinct areas. They report in to the Deputy Charity Director.
All the tasks carried out in this role will contributeto the core purpose of the charity, enabling us to transform the access to and experience of mental health support, for young people.
This is a new position within a new team, focused on the growth of the charity, offering the opportunity to enhance Open Door’s approach to business development, as we create new long-term partnerships.
Based at the Bloom Building in Birkenhead and soon within our new home ‘Joy’, the role offers a flexible and collaborative working environment, engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders that align with Open Door’s values and mission.

The Commercial & Events Manager will line manage front of house and hospitality staff, foster a positive and values-led team culture, and lead relationships with café and bar partners to ensure a joined-up, high-quality experience for everyone who comes through Joy’s doors.
As a key presence within the building, you will oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of events, taking responsibility for visitor experience and acting as the lead point of contact on event days. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering Joy’s commercial events programme, helping to build a vibrant, inclusive and financially sustainable offer across the building. Working at the intersection of culture, community and commerce, you will develop a compelling programme of events and hospitality activity that supports Joy’s ethos while contributing to its long-term sustainability.
You will lead on commercial events strategy, sales and income generation, managing the full events pipeline from initial enquiry through to delivery. Working closely with Directors and cross-site colleagues, you will identify new audiences, formats and opportunities, and support the growth and evolution of Joy’s commercial offer over time.

The Operations Manager will play a central role in ensuring the Joy building operates smoothly, safely and in line with Open Door’s values and ambition. Taking overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations, you will help create a welcoming, inclusive and well-managed environment that supports staff, tenants, partners and everyone who uses the building.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will oversee facilities, maintenance, compliance and operational systems, ensuring Joy is consistently clean, secure and fit for purpose. You will act as the main point of contact for contractors and suppliers, manage utilities and building systems, and take a proactive approach to health & safety, risk management and statutory compliance.
As a key operational lead within the building, the role will support events and programmed activity, working closely with the Commercial & Events Manager, Programming Manager and Access teams to ensure activities run safely and smoothly. You will also build positive day-to-day relationships with tenants and partners, and contribute to cross-site support as Open Door continues to grow.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing fundraising team as we look toward the charity's 50th anniversary in 2026.
The ELHAP Volunteer and Community Events Officer will play a pivotal role in enabling ELHAP to achieve its goals - helping us to reach more supporters and raise vital funds through volunteering partnerships and community fundraising events. You’ll be at the heart of building relationships, creating impact, and driving income that directly transforms the support available for children and young people with disabilities.
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Volunteer and Community Events Officer will be the driving force behind volunteer recruitment, ensuring ELHAP has a thriving network of passionate, well-supported volunteers who feel valued and are making meaningful contributions to our mission. You'll manage the complete volunteer journey - from attraction and onboarding through to retention and recognition - creating rewarding experiences that keep volunteers engaged and motivated.
Alongside volunteer management, you'll take the lead in planning and executing fundraising events that bring our community together, raise vital funds, and celebrate ELHAP's work. You'll also support individuals, groups, schools, and businesses undertaking their own fundraising challenges on our behalf.
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, loves bringing people together, and can juggle multiple projects with creativity, energy, and excellent organisational skills. You'll work collaboratively across the team to ensure every volunteer interaction and event strengthens ELHAP's presence and impact in the community.

Ideally, you will bring the following to the role:
- Experience in event planning and delivery, ideally within a charity or community setting
- Experience in fundraising activities or supporting fundraising campaigns
- Experience of volunteer recruitment, management, or community engagement
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices in a youth or community setting.
- Exceptionally well organised with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Warm, personable, and approachable and able to build strong relationships with volunteers, supporters, and community partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Warm, personable, and approachable with a genuine passion for community engagement and volunteering
- Proactive, solution-focused approach with a "can-do" attitude and ability to work independently.
- Confident and adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
