We're looking for a Company Secretary and Governance Lead to play an important leadership role in ensuring our charity operates to the highest standards of governance, transparency and integrity.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team and Board Committees, this role will shape and strengthen our governance framework to enable confident, informed decision-making that supports delivery of our strategy and impact. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic governance leader who can combine technical expertise with strong relationship management and a genuine passion for driving good governance that supports our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Company Secretary for Alzheimer's Society and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House requirements.
- Provide trusted advice to the Chair, Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team on their legal, fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities.
- Oversee governance arrangements, ensuring effective information flow and clear decision-making structures across the organisation.
- Develop and lead a team of Governance professionals, promoting a culture of high performance, collaboration, accountability and inclusivity.
- Lead the design and continual improvement of our governance framework, embedding transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision making.
- Serve as Whistleblowing Officer for the Society, and champion integrity and openness in all governance processes.
- Support the governance team to deliver efficient Board and Committee meetings, forward planning, and statutory reporting.
- Foster strong relationships across teams, embedding governance and compliance as enablers of effective, ethical leadership.
About You
You're a confident, collaborative leader who combines professional rigour with empathy, diplomacy and a values-led approach. You bring the strategic insight to advise senior leaders and the operational focus to ensure governance processes run seamlessly.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Demonstrate a strong track record of advising Boards and senior leaders on governance, compliance and organisational risk.
- Bring excellent knowledge of charity law, company law, and the UK governance landscape.
- Communicate complex information clearly and credibly to a range of audiences.
- Lead with authenticity and integrity, building trusted relationships across all levels.
- Drive continuous improvement — from simplifying processes to fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
- Lead and develop a small team, championing collaboration and professional growth.
- Model Alzheimer's Society's values of Determination, Better Together, Compassion and Trusted Expertise in all that you do.
This role is Home-based with occasional travel across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Finance Director
We are seeking an experienced senior finance leader to drive financial strategy and sustainability across a national charity.
Position: Finance Director
Salary: £75,000 (£45,000 pro-rata)
Location: Flexible, 1 day in Doncaster but not essential
Hours: 21 per week (part time)

About the Role
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for long term financial sustainability, robust controls and a strong commercial approach. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with the CEO, Board and Directors to deliver the charity’s strategic ambitions and build a positive, collaborative culture.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead financial planning, reporting and strategic oversight for the organisation
• Provide expert advice to the Board, CEO and leadership team on all financial matters
• Strengthen commerciality and oversee development of a sustainable business model
• Lead programmes to simplify processes, improve efficiency and reduce financial risk
• Act as Company Secretary ensuring legal, regulatory and governance compliance
• Oversee risk management frameworks and insurance provision
• Build strong business partnering relationships, particularly with Operations

About You
You will bring significant senior level finance experience along with credibility, clarity and the ability to influence at all levels.
Essential skills and experience:
• Extensive experience in senior finance roles, ideally within the charity sector
• Strong understanding of financial strategy, business planning and risk management
• Proven ability to analyse complex financial information and present clear recommendations
• Experience leading and developing a finance team
• Knowledge of charity governance, regulatory compliance and statutory reporting
• Skilled in building commercial models and driving long term sustainability
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills
• Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of business partnering models and effective cross organisational working
Desirable:
• Company Secretary or governance qualification
• Experience leading finance transformations or major organisational change programmes

The West of England Baptist Network (Webnet) is seeking a Trust and Property Officer to join our friendly, relational team. This key role supports the operational and organisational effectiveness of both Webnet and the West of England Baptist Trust Company (WEBTC), helping our network of churches manage governance, legal, property, and trust matters.
The role is a permenant part-time role (15 hours per week) pattern to be agreed. £19.82 per hour (£15,460 per annum) at 15 hours per week.
You’ll play an important part in enabling WEBTC to fulfil its responsibilities as holding trustees for church properties and funds, offering practical guidance on areas such as sales, leases, and redevelopment projects. The role also involves liaising with solicitors, surveyors, and advisors, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant charity and property law.
