As Treasurer, you will work alongside our Finance Manager, the finance sub-committee and our trustee board to oversee the financial strategy and risk management processes of our organisation, to ensure its financial viability and legal compliance. Fundraising Trustee (Milton Keynes)

With your support and expertise, we will achieve so much! We’re looking for a dedicated Fundraising Trustee to help us grow our impact and secure vital resources for the animals who need us most.

Overview of the Fundraising Trustee opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person who could devote the time to volunteer with us as one of our Trustees. As a Trustee of the Branch, you will have the chance to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental in the running of the Branch and setting out both the short and long terms aims.

As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether the trustee takes on additional duties.

About the RSPCA

Founded in 1824 we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. It has always been our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion, so our volunteers and employees work tirelessly to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.

Through our numerous campaigns, we seek to raise standards of care, and awareness of issues, affecting animals today. We rely heavily on our volunteers who play a significant role in enabling us to carry out this important animal welfare work every day!

The RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch

The Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

Primary responsibilities of the Fundraising Trustee

• Lead on developing and delivering fundraising strategies
• Help identify new income streams and build relationships with donors, sponsors, and community groups
• Support and advise the board on fundraising best practices
• Champion our cause and represent the branch at events and in the community
• Identify grant opportunities and apply for relevant funding streams via grants

What we are looking for in a Fundraising Trustee:

We are looking for people from all social and cultural backgrounds, with experience and skills in any of the following areas:

• Experience in fundraising, marketing, or income generation
• Strong networking and communication skills
• A commitment to animal welfare and the values of the RSPCA
• Willingness to attend monthly trustee meetings and contribute time between meetings

The opportunity

The commitment

At present, the Services Committee meets four times each year, for up to three hours each time.  While we keep timing under review in the light of changing membership, this year's meetings have started at 2.00pm and all of them have been virtual.  Of course, you would also need to prepare for meetings by reading papers.  Co-optees also attend annual appraisal and are invited to our annual governance strategy days.   For these roles, how far away you live from us is not important over time.  However, we know that you would want to come on site at least at the start, to get to know us and what we do.  

What we are seeking

We seek interest from people who can digest sometimes large amounts of reading and challenge the executive, and governing colleagues, on whether we are performign as well as we should.  So as well as being analytical, applicants will need the necessary confidence to contribute during meetings actively and, sometimes, to defend their viewpoint.  We welcome anyone with these skills but, right now, but we especially need to add to our expertise in education (especially specialist further education) and care.

The Queen Alexandra Charity, Birmingham

In addition to community services and supported living for adults, we run the Queen Alexandra College with 480 specialist further education places for people who have a diverse range of abilities and plans to grow to 700.

Being a co-optee brings a commitment that is much more limited than that for trustees/governors.  If you are looking to gain experience in governance, but have limited time, this may be the manageable role that you're looking for, through which you can have a major impact as part of a rigorous, but friendly, team.

Based in Newtown, Powys, Rekindle is a vibrant and committed charity, providing mental health support to young people aged between 16 and 25 years, in Mid Wales and the Shropshire Borders. As Chair, you’ll play a key role in shaping Rekindle’s future and building on the momentum of recent successes.

What will you be doing?

As Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for ensuring that the charity trustee board functions effectively, meetings are led inclusively, and the board carries out its duties. You will lead the board in governing itself well, setting the strategic direction of the charity, creating a positive culture within the charity and holding staff accountable. You will monitor the agreed actions from board meetings to ensure that decisions are implemented properly and in a timely manner and build a strong, positive and respectful relationship with staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and other stakeholders. You will also act as an ambassador for the charity, representing its interests and values to stakeholders.

Time commitment

• 4 board meetings per year, plus minimum 16 hours per month (to be reviewed annually)
• There may be additional time commitment required however there is no fixed requirement as we appreciate that each Board member has different amounts of time they are able to offer
• Ideally the Chair will be local to the charity.

 What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with a natural leadership style that is inclusive and collaborative. Rekindle is about to embark on some restructuring of its managerial tier; this will be with the help of Pilot Light and their 360 programme, and we would like the new Chair to be a part of this ideally.

Rekindle is currently developing a Youth Advisory Board that will consult and advise with the Board of Trustees once established, and so experience of this, although not essential, would be welcome.

Skills and experience:

• Demonstrable experience in leadership roles.
• Previous experience serving on a Board of Trustees.
• Ability to think strategically and drive organizational growth and impact.
• Experience in supporting and developing organizational strategy.
• 5-15 years of experience in governance and financial oversight.

Sheffield General Cemetery Trust (SGCT) is looking for volunteers to join our Funding team. We are a registered charity and limited company run by a volunteer board of Trustees. We raise all our income through a mix of public events, funding from Grants and Trusts and donations. The work of the funding volunteers is vital to the Trust's continued success. 

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy the challenge of raising funds from grants and trusts and are keen to be successful in this important area of work. We are looking for volunteers who have experience of making funding applications, perhaps in another field, or earlier in their career and who would welcome the opportunity to support our work.

About Us

Change The Youth NW is a non-profit providing meaningful opportunities, activities, and support for young people aged 5–18. We remove barriers like cost, travel, and accessibility, helping young people develop skills, confidence, and leadership to succeed in education, employment, and life.

Our projects include:​

• Youth development projects

• Sports & physical activities

• Residentials and day trips (e.g., Blackpool, Lake District, planned international trips)

• 1–2–1 mentoring and support

• Seasonal events and workshops

Role Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic trustees to guide our charity’s strategy and governance. This is a chance to make a real impact, gain trustee experience, and contribute to a growing, energetic organisation.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure the charity delivers its mission and operates legally and effectively

• Set long-term strategy and monitor progress

• Oversee finances, policies, and safeguarding

• Promote the charity’s values and reputation

• Offer advice, specialist knowledge, and support for new initiatives

Person Specification

Essential:

• Commitment to our mission and values

• Willingness to devote time and effort

• Confidence to share ideas and work collaboratively

• Understanding (or willingness to learn) trusteeship responsibilities

• Respect for safeguarding, confidentiality, and professionalism

• Commitment to the Nolan Principles of public life (selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, leadership)

Desirable:

• Experience with young people

• Skills in finance, safeguarding, youth work, administration, project planning, marketing, fundraising, or community engagement

Time Commitment

• Quarterly meetings (online or in person)

• Occasional involvement in policies, decisions, or events

• Optional involvement in programs or fundraising
