Buddying programmes coordinator jobs

Barnardo's is seeking a qualified teacher to lead and support the delivery of evidence‑based social and emotional learning (SEL) programmes across St Helens, working with Early Years settings, primary and secondary schools, and parents.

A key focus of this role will be the implementation of the PATHS Programme (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies), alongside wider SEL approaches. PATHS is a well‑established, evidence‑based programme that supports children and young people to develop essential life skills, including self‑awareness, self‑management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision‑making.

About the role

As Programme Co‑ordinator, you will play a central role in embedding high‑quality SEL practice across a range of educational settings. You will work collaboratively with professionals and families to ensure programmes are delivered with confidence, consistency and impact.

Your role will include:

• Leading and supporting the delivery of SEL programmes across Early Years, primary and secondary school settings
• Providing coaching and ongoing support to staff delivering the programmes
• Modelling effective programme delivery in educational settings
• Designing and delivering training sessions to build staff skills and confidence
• Engaging with parents and carers, supporting them to understand and reinforce social and emotional learning at home
• Building strong, collaborative relationships with schools, settings and partner organisations

You will be part of a UK‑wide Barnardo's team, with access to comprehensive training, resources and peer support to help you excel in the role.

About you

In addition to meeting the criteria outlined in the generic Programme Co‑ordinator Person Specification, applicants must demonstrate the following service‑specific experience and attributes:

Essential:

• A recognised professional teaching qualification
• Experience of working within Early Years, with an understanding of progression into primary and secondary education
• Post‑qualification practice experience in social and emotional learning (SEL)
• A strong working knowledge of the UK Curriculum and its key components
• Experience in a co‑ordination or leadership role, developing collaborative relationships to achieve shared goals
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle to travel between settings
  (Driving is an intrinsic part of the role. Applicants unable to drive due to a disability should demonstrate alternative ways of meeting the mobility requirements of the post.)

Desirable:

• Experience of designing and delivering engaging, high‑quality training for professionals, using a range of approaches to meet different learning needs
• Experience of delivering social and emotional learning programmes within primary and/or secondary school settings

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to end of July 2027 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. This contract is due to expire on 31st July 2027.

Schools and Programme Intern – (London)

Salary: London Living Wage £28,860 p.a. FTE

Contract: 6-month fixed term contract with the prospect of progression to a permanent Coordinator role

About the Role:

Here at Construction Youth Trust, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who are excited to learn and ready to dive into a supported internship. This is a fantastic chance to get a hands-on feel for what it's like to work in the charity sector. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development of the Trust e.g. participation in strategic working groups.

We are particularly looking for individuals at the start of their career interested in working directly with young people within our Delivery Team. Also, as one of our interns, you'll gain valuable skills to kickstart your career, with the prospect of progressing into a Coordinator role with us . Plus, you'll have an internal buddy to support you and help you settle in throughout your internship.

As a Delivery Team Intern, your key duties and responsibilities could include:

· Supporting the team to deliver fun and engaging programmes and activities for young people (primarily in schools/colleges and with employers) to get them ready for the working world by building on their skills and confidence.

· Supporting the team in the development of effective long-term working relationships with schools and referral partners.

· Supporting the team to enlist, manage and coordinate the support of local industry partners to connect young people with opportunities and employers that match their unique strengths and interests.

· Supporting the team with administrative tasks, helping to register, monitor, and evaluate the young people participating in programmes and activities.

· Please note that you will be required to travel across London regularly

About You

The Construction Youth Trust team works in a fast-paced environment, what we are looking for in our new Intern(s) includes:

· Enthusiastic about connecting young people to opportunities, particularly those facing barriers to work.

· Good organisational skills, detail orientated and proactive in finding solutions.

· Have a ‘can-do’ attitude, as our Intern you will be expected to get involved in a variety of our programmes and activities.

· IT literate and digitally savvy

· Ability to communicate professionally with a range of people including young people, schools, funders, universities, industry representatives, training providers and community organisations.

· A willingness to learn about career opportunities offered by the modern construction and wider built environment sector.

· Ideally educated to Level 3 (BTEC, A- Level, etc) or equivalent experience.

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives?  We are looking for a Peer Service Co-ordinator who will facilitate the delivery of our Peer Service and collaborate on the future development and improvements of the service.

You will have experience of recruiting, training, and supervising staff or volunteers. Experience working with a diverse range of communities would be an advantage as we are looking to increase our reach. The role holder will have an understanding of the challenges that may arise from delivering digital/telephone support and the ability to understand and meet training and development needs of volunteers.

You’ll have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills as well as being self-motivated, committed with a desire to make a difference and willing to develop and expand the role.  Experience of facilitating peer support services, with a focus on volunteer/user involvement in service delivery would be an advantage but not essential.

About the role

The Peer Service Co-ordinator will facilitate and develop the Peer Service, a tailored support service utilising volunteers to provide peer support both in and out of standard office hours.

The postholder will be expected to train and develop the volunteers who support the Peer Buddy service, make suggestions for improvements and recruit and train new volunteers to increase the diversity of the volunteer pool. You will support in delivering ongoing improvements and further service development to enhance the offerings of the peer service while working with the Peer Service Lead to ensure possible risks have been identified, assessed and effective risk management strategies have been put in place.

You will need to develop and maintain a good understanding of myeloma and its’ related conditions, including patient need, and develop and evaluate the service in line with this. 

This role will be part of the team responsible for running this service and provide supervision and training to volunteers. They will be expected to adhere to safeguarding principles and good governance.
