ISWAN has recently reorganised the management of our helpline services and created this new role, which will be pivotal to further developing our quality service to seafarers. We have seen significant growth in the number and usage of our helplines and now seek to recruit a second Helplines Operations Manager to ensure we have a management structure capable of coping with further growth.
As one of two Helplines Operations Managers, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of ISWAN’s helplines to ensure our services provide accurate information, appropriate advice, and comprehensive support to seafarers and their families.
You will manage the development of Salesforce and be familiar with Salesforce reporting, particularly using advanced tools like Power BI and Tableau. You will be confident liaising with our IT support service on system issues and developments.
We have no preconceptions about where the successful applicant will come from but you will bring experience of managing multi-channelled contact centre operations and best practice as well as delivering user and client service improvements.
You will need to be capable of working effectively within a complex international context and have sound experience of service development. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) but we are keen to find the right person and therefore happy to discuss flexible working patterns. The role is fully remote and we are flexible about where you are based but you will be working with staff across the UK, India and the Philippines so you will need to be a great team player.

About the Programme
The Foundation has been awarded a £2.1m grant by the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) to deliver a pilot as part of it's Grant Holder Support programme. This pilot, Investing in the Power of Civil Society (IIPCS), will support up to 640 charities across the Northwest, Southwest of England and Yorkshire and Humber .
Delivered in partnership with eight organisations — IVAR, Groundwork UK and local trusts, CAST, The School for Social Entrepreneurs, NCVO, Voice4Change England, the AVOCADO Foundation and Access (advisory) — the pilot will offer diagnostic-led, tailored and relational support to help organisations strengthen their work.
Support will focus on resilience, environmental impact, readiness for AI and digital technology, enabling participating charities to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world. With a strong emphasis on equity and access, the pilot is designed to ensure organisations of all sizes and backgrounds can benefit.
We will be using a test-and-learn approach — trying out new ways of supporting charities, learning from what works and what doesn’t, and using those insights to improve future programmes. This approach will help shape NLCF’s future support for both grant holders and grant seekers, strengthen the Foundation and partners’ own development practice, and contribute to wider learning across the sector.
About the Role
As Relationship Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering this new, collaborative pilot programme. You’ll be the key point of contact for grant holders referred into the programme, guiding them through a diagnostic process, co-creating tailored development plans, and connecting them with the right support.
You’ll also work closely with National Lottery Community Fund Funding Officers, helping them make confident and effective referrals. Your work will ensure that learning from these relationships directly informs the future design of the programme and how the UK’s largest non-statutory community funder supports small charities.
This is a highly relational role that requires empathy, curiosity, and a deep understanding of the voluntary sector.

Governance & Risk
- Ensure robust governance frameworks and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and distribution of papers
- Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely filing of returns and documents with regulatory bodies
- Support FI Executive and Board in proactively managing risk, and accurately reflecting via the Company Risk register, working closely with Directors to ensure quarterly updates are shared with the Executive Leadership and Board of Trustees (including relevant sub-committees)

Business Planning & Reporting

We are working towards this ambition and are continually looking at ways to assist our foodbank users to achieve this. Meanwhile, until we reach our objective, there is still a need for emergency food assistance across our communities. This is an exciting opportunity to proactively lead and grow fundraising across both F&W and Burnage Foodbank, to help us continue to meet the emergency food needs of those most impoverished in our communities.
● Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups, local businesses and grant giving trusts and foundations. You will be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.
● Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with individuals, community groups, local businesses, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Key Responsibilities:
● Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you will identify and prioritise a pool of potential local Trusts and Foundations funders. Working with colleagues, you will develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding bids that can successfully engage new and existing Trusts and Foundations funders.
● Through the creation and delivery of engaging and compelling fundraising activities, appeals and communications, you will grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations. You will explore and implement ways of promoting our Foodbanks across the community to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.
● You will engage with local community groups, associations, events, schools and businesses to grow our fundraising reach and income.
● You will develop, establish and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess of £150k per annum. This will include establishing and leading supporter relationships and, where appropriate, to support other senior stakeholders in leading such relationships.
● You will establish a fundraising pipeline for both F&W Foodbank and Burnage Foodbank, incorporating a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
● You will review and finalise the KPIs to be set by the managers of F&W Foodbank and Burnage Foodbank.
● Every fortnight you will meet to report on progress on an operational level, and every quarter you will meet with representatives of both trustee boards to review progress against the fundraising project objectives outputs and KPIs. These may be in the evenings to accommodate trustee availability. Every 6 months you will input to a report for the Trussell Trust network.
● You will forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You will proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
Skills
● You will have proven and substantial fundraising experience, covering at least two of these areas: trusts fundraising, fundraising with local businesses, fundraising with individuals and community groups.
● With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills, you will inspire and motivate existing and prospective supporters, providing excellent stewardship and crafting compelling and winning funding proposals and appeals.
● You will have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising KPI’s.

The Roles
The successful candidates will support the Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Manager and hold specific identified managerial responsibilities within the services delivered by TLC’s Therapeutic Wellbeing department.
You will work closely with the Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Manager and Management Team to co-ordinate the delivery, monitoring and staff support and leadership across the organisation.
The successful candidates will have operational responsibility for the Counselling and Wellbeing services within their geographical areas and have specific managerial responsibilities within the wider range of services delivered by TLC.

Purpose of the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving and growing fundraising team with a new, ambitious strategy for income generation that the whole charity, senior management and Trustees are right behind.
The role itself is new as Cerebra looks to invest in and significantly grow and develop a new mass participation events programme (which includes schools fundraising products). You’ll work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications who has a strong background in events and community fundraising.
You will lead the development of virtual/digital fundraising events, challenge/3rd party events, in-person owned events, DIY events and our relationships with schools. In time, you will build and foster relationships with other community organisations. You will be responsible for growing the team as the programme expands. Innovation and product development are key areas of work.
You will play key role in the Fundraising Marketing & Communications directorate and developing our fundraising, audience and supporter engagement strategy.
This is a challenging but well-supported role, where you can make a large, career-defining impact on Cerebra and the children and families that we serve.
Overall budgetary responsibility is approximately £295k of income for 2026, with considerable scope and ambition for improvement.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. New events programme
- Develop a multi-year events programme incorporating virtual/digital events, challenge/3rd party events, in-person own events and DIY.
- Project manage the delivery of the events in the programme to raise £295k in 2026.
- Develop multi-channel marketing plans for recruitment, focusing on key audiences.
- Develop multi-channel supporter journeys and top-class supporter experience to deepen engagement and increase income.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on income, expenditure, and supporter acquisition across the events programme and make decisions about where to invest time and resources, accordingly.
- Develop necessary assets, such as fundraising packs. Digital platforms, digital rewards and supporter groups.
- Work with the Corporate & Philanthropy Manager to offer events fundraising to corporate partners.
2. Innovation and product development
- Use data and insights to understand audiences and to innovate and develop new events from prototype and MVP onwards.
- Proactively research and identify opportunities to grow the portfolio, monitoring the market and sector trends and how they could be implemented at Cerebra.
- Constantly seek to iterate and improve events in all areas including marketing, supporter experience, delivery and fundraising.
- Create business cases and plans for each new event.
- Own and grow Cerebra’s own mass participation flagship event “Relay Your Way”.
3. Schools and community groups
- Develop a plan and products to engage schools with Cerebra fundraising.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop materials to support schools fundraising.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications and Contact Centre teams to recruit schools to take part in fundraising for Cerebra.
- Monitor and evaluate to scale successful schools fundraising products.
- Take learnings from schools fundraising to apply to other groups and organisations.
4. Culture & relationships
- Work to continue the development of a strong, person-centred, empathetic, supportive and inclusive culture at Cerebra.

- Providing quarterly income and expenditure re-forecasts.
- Ensuring all relevant information is recorded in line with charity, fundraising and data legislation and best practice.
6. Line Management
- Carry out recruitment within the team in line with Cerebra’s practices and values.
- Provide effective, remote line management, support and performance management to direct reports to help them maximise their potential and effectiveness.
- Provide practical and person-centred coaching support to direct reports.
- Ensure there is a continual focus on learning and development and wellbeing.
