Treasurer needed for an established psychotherapy charity. We are part way through a change process at Share having moved premises in 2023. We are developing and strengthening our clinical services, improving our administrative and business systems and strengthening our financial position. We want to build upon our position as a centre of excellence in psychotherapy and make an even bigger contribution to improving mental health in Sheffield.

Position Overview:
The Spiritual Arts Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Charity Administrator / Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of charity law and regulations in the UK, along with extensive practical experience in setting up charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs). In addition to possessing exceptional organizational and project management skills, the candidate should also have a genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a passion for making a difference in the world.

Responsibilities:

You will be required to:

• Provide expert guidance and support in the setup and registration of charities, CICs, and CLGs, ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Consult with our legal team on the preparation of legal documentation, including governing documents, constitutions, and articles of association.
• Assist in the establishment of appropriate governance structures, and work with our HR team regarding the recruitment and training of trustees and board members.

Showroom Work Station is a registered charity and a cultural hub for South Yorkshire and the North of England. 

Located in a converted 1930’s art deco building, the venue is home to a four-screen cinema, creative industries business centre, event space, and café bar, in the heart of Sheffield city centre. 

We are looking to recruit new Trustees to join our board.  We are particularly keen to hear from anyone with knowledge and understanding of major capital projects, fundraising or the hospitality sector.  However, if you don’t have expertise in any of these areas, but still feel that you have something to offer, please still get in touch.  This is a unique opportunity to join a creative and passionate team and help shape the future of the organisation.

As a trustee you will oversee the operation of a major cultural cinema exhibiting a diverse film programme with first run and retrospectives of curated work, including archive, documentaries, and many unique one-off programmes with regular visiting filmmakers.  We are home to some very successful film festivals and host many unique events each month.

Through our trading subsidiary, we also manage the Work Station creative industries business centre, operate a successful bar/café, and conferencing facilities.

Our Trustees work closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to provide clear strategic direction to the organisation, helping to agree policy, define goals, set targets, and evaluate performance.

As with all our Trustees, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a good understanding of local, regional, and cultural agendas.

Trustees are required to attend approximately 5 Board meetings per year (usually held on the last Monday of the month, 6 pm – 8 pm) and to offer relevant support and specialist knowledge to enable us to meet the objectives of our business.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kempton Great Engines Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to showcase Kempton’s vital role in supplying much of London’s water. 

Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.

We have plans to expand the museum’s activities with new facilities for visitors and volunteers and the new Treasurer will play a vital role in shaping the approach to financial management in support of these new developments. You will chair the Finance Committee and attend Trustee Meetings, which are normally held every other month on a Tuesday evening at the museum in South West London.

The Treasurer oversees the financial operations of the organisation, working closely with the Bookkeeper. You will also ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met in conjunction with the Company Secretary and Chair.

We are looking for someone who has the experience to advise the other trustees on financial matters, take a strategic approach to financial forward planning, produce an annual budget and management accounts and play an active part in the decision making of the board of trustees. A qualification in accountancy or equivalent senior level experience in financial management is required and experience of charities and governance would be advantageous.

St Luke's Hospice have an opportunity for an experienced Trustee with an income generation/finance/business management background to help make a positive contribution to the work we do for patients and families within our local communities. 

What will you be doing?

If you have experience in the private, public or voluntary sectors and the drive to make a difference, we have an opportunity for you to join our Trustee Board to make a positive contribution to the work we do. St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice cares for people in mid & south Cheshire who are suffering from life limiting illnesses. We offer specialist treatment, care, advice and support to patients and their families.

We undertake an annual audit of the skill mix of our Trustees to find the right blend of experience and expertise to support the work of the Hospice through their support for the Senior Management Team. We look for Trustees who have the dedication, commitment and desire to improve our services and help us to achieve our strategic goals in line with our ethos and values.

We would be happy to receive applications from someone, whose responsibility as a Trustee will be to overview all Income Generation at St Luke’s.  This role will include being a Director of the Promotion and Trading companies which look after the hospice lottery and our retail shops. Someone with experience of managing income generation, working collaboratively and with business management and finance (including P&L) knowledge would be desirable for this position.

Time commitment:

·Average 4 hours per month, although this will vary depending on the schedule of meetings and other events.

· 4-5 subcommittee meetings per year (These meetings are held online via zoom)

For over seventy years the Osteopathic Foundation (initially the Osteopathic Education Foundation) has been supporting osteopathic education, research, and development. CHS is governed by a Board of Management made up of paid members who meet regularly throughout the year to direct policy and make major decisions on housing matters. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that we are managed efficiently, effectively and in line with the requirements of the law, regulatory bodies, best practice and value for money.

We have an active Board, currently made up of five members, bringing a variety of skills and backgrounds. Our Chair has been in the role since 2021 and we appointed a new Managing Director within the last year.

We are now looking to recruit two new board members. One who can bring strategic finance expertise and another with building asset management experience.

• Strategic finance: As a provider, we offer a unique set of services that have particular challenges. We are looking for an experienced senior finance professional to help us balance the risks and benefits involved in relation to our portfolio and scrutinise our finances strategically for the longer term. 
• Building asset management: We are looking for expertise in property management. This will include repairs and maintenance, health and safety legislation and regulations, strategic asset management and decarbonisation.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 24 May. Online shortlisting interviews will take place the next couple of weeks. Face-to-face interviews with the recruitment panel at CHS will take place on Thursday, 13 June 2024.
