FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Our compassionate and dynamic Group Facilitators provide the ‘beating heart’ of support within our multi-disciplinary teams working with individuals of all ages affected by domestic abuse, including those with harmful behaviours, and sexual violence.

This varied and rewarding role involves delivering trauma-informed groupwork and limited one-to-one support across a range of programmes, including:

• Empowerment and recovery groups for those who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse.
• Behaviour change programmes for individuals using harmful behaviours in their relationships.
• Digital peer support and learning opportunities through our online survivor platform, ‘Connecting You’.

Working collaboratively with our IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor), ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) and Behaviour Change teams, you will help ensure that support is safe, inclusive, and effective for people with a range of experiences and risks. You will play a vital part in championing people to recover from trauma, build safe relationships, and move forward with dignity and hope.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

Group Facilitation and Delivery

• Deliver structured, evidence-based and trauma responsive group programmes for victims/survivors and individuals who have used harm.
• Foster safe, inclusive spaces that promote empowerment, emotional safety, and constructive challenge.
• Co-facilitate groups with trained colleagues, volunteers or peer mentors/Experts by Experience as needed.
• Support the ongoing development and review of group materials and content.
• Work flexibly and manage your own schedule, including facilitating evening groups on a rotational basis to meet the needs of those unable to attend during working hours.

 One-to-One Support

• Provide limited 1:1 support for medium-risk clients who may be waiting for or transitioning between group programmes and/or other services.
• Contribute to joint safety and support planning alongside IDVAs, ISVAs and Behaviour Change Workers.
• Monitor and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies.

Digital Survivor Platform – Connecting You

• Update and upload resources, tutorials, and activities for survivors accessing the platform.
• Support survivors engaging with online content, including managing enrolments and online group access.
• Design and deliver trauma-informed self-paced tutorials and reflective learning tools.

Peer Mentoring and Survivor Involvement

• Support the recruitment, mentoring and involvement of ‘experts by experience’ in group delivery.
• Encourage and nurture survivor voices and peer leadership within both in-person and digital forums.
• Training and Awareness-Raising.
• Deliver training sessions to professionals and external partners where required.
• Speak at community or public events to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence, healthy relationships, and recovery.

Overall purpose

 As the Finance Officer, you will be required to ensure that our income and expenditure records are accurate, complete, free from error and comply with both the relevant accounting standards as well as donor restrictions. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the recording of financial information is compliant and auditable, in both the finance system and CRM.

You will also work alongside the Head of Finance to support the wider organisation in its financial understanding and management. This support will focus on both the fundraising team to empower them to raise as many funds as possible, especially unrestricted funds, and the services team to ensure their financial processes are robust and efficient. You will also be expected to contribute to and uphold our outstanding culture by living and demonstrating our values of being mission-led, welcoming, entrepreneurial and collaborative.

Key responsibilities

Finance responsibilities

• Record all income and expenditure general ledger transactions in the finance system, ensuring correct coding and full supporting documentation is stored in either the finance system or in the CRM.
• Have ownership of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately with the correct VAT treatment while adhering to the relevant controls.
• Ensure all staff and client expenses are captured and recorded accurately, adhere to the relevant expense policy and are paid in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post payment runs alongside the Head of Finance
• Support the Financial Accountant in the monthly bank reconciliation
• Participate in month end processes to ensure the I&E figure is accurate within the pre-determined deadline, including posting prepayments, deferrals and accruals where relevant and other accounting adjustments as needed such as grossing up of platform fees.
• Ensure all finance documentation is complete and auditable including restricted fund evidence, and ensure the relevant GAUs are tracked on salesforce.
• Capture all restricted fund income and expenditure is the finance system on a monthly basis (staff and non-staff) alongside the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance
• Understand clawback risk on grants
• Ensure Breaking Barriers is claiming gift aid where applicable and optimising opportunities to reclaim input VAT in our business/non-business VAT return
• Reconciling to third party platforms on a monthly basis including fundraising platforms and Equals
• Work with the Head of Finance to upskill the fundraising and service teams to ensure they understand necessary financial processes
• Undertake income and expenditure control activities e.g. checking for grant rejection letters and verifying changes to supplier details.
• Be the finance team’s superuser for the CRM
• Support in year-end audit and the creation of relevant notes
• Support with ad hoc projects such as the implementation of a new finance system and policy and procedure updates

Technology

• Support the Financial Accountant, Finance Director and outsourced technology provider as needed for ongoing technology support and occasional projects.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. There is huge scope to develop both income streams at Guts UK, as this is the first dedicated position covering these income streams.

With some fantastic corporate partnerships in place already, there is great potential to build on the existing foundations and leverage those corporate partnerships to secure more ranging from transactional right up to transformational.

The philanthropy function has green shoots to nurture and develop. This is an exciting role for a candidate who wants to grow and shape this income stream, and demonstrate their personal impact on generating income, and providing donors with an incredible supporter experience.

This specialist manager role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior fundraiser or manager level, or someone who can demonstrate experience of developing a corporate and/or major donor pipeline, creating operational plans and delivering income. Guts UK is a small charity with big ambition so a background that includes working within a smaller charity would be helpful for the candidate to have but isn't essential.

This is one role advertised twice to ensure candidates across both hybrid locations can apply. This role is hybrid with candidates happy to work a minimum of one day per week from the London or Hudderfield office welcome to apply. About the role

The Safety & Assurance Officer (SAO) is an employee of the MSSC and a member of the MSSC National Safety Assurance Team (NSAT). This is a home-based role, with a primary focus on the Southern area, predominantly the South-East. The SAO will report to the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment.

The SAO will work closely with other SAOs and will be functionally accountable to:

The Staff Royal Marines Officer for weapons and ammunition safety and security assurance

The role requires regular travel within the area of responsibility and, on occasion within the UK. It will involve evening and some weekend work to fulfil the role’s responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications: Good general education and NEBOSH (or equivalent), with completion required during probation if not already held.
Safety & Environmental Management: Experience implementing safety and environmental management systems, conducting risk assessments, and working within formal assurance frameworks.
Incident Management: Experience managing, investigating, and reporting incidents.
Training & Support: Ability to deliver training, guidance, and support to non-specialist staff or volunteers on safety, health, environmental, and assurance matters.
Workload & Volunteer Management: Proven ability to manage a busy workload and effectively support and manage volunteers.

Responsibilities

Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safety and Assurance Officer, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environment (SHE), and operational compliance across our units and facilities.
You’ll lead assurance inspections, maintain compliance with legislation and organisational regulations, and support the safe management of weapons, armouries, and inshore boating activities. Working closely with other members of the National Safety and Assurance Team (NSAT) and Area teams, you’ll oversee safety at events, camps, and competitions, conduct audits, and monitor incident reporting.
This role plays a vital part in upholding the safety and welfare of our cadets and volunteers through proactive assurance, training, and continuous improvement.

Job Summary

The BSR education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities. 

This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Education & Events Manager, Event Executive (Education) and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and digital learning activities. You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board. 

This is an exciting role for someone looking to get further hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.

Main Responsibilties 

Event & Course Coordination

• Lead on course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
• Support course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
• Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
• Occasional travel, including attendance and overnight stays at BSR courses, conferences and events.
   

Systems & Data Management

• Oversee the team’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and registration systems, ensuring data integrity, implementing system enhancements, coordinating stakeholders, and carrying out testing.

Project Coordination

•  Coordinate the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
• Coordinate the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
• Coordinate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation of educational activities.
• Support the delivery of digital sponsorship and educational partnership opportunities.

Marketing & Communications

• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create digital content to engage target audiences, including providing content for webpages, newsletters and delegate communications.

General Duties

• Manage the events inbox and education team enquiries, delivering excellent customer service and being the main point of contact for the team.
• Input into education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for owned projects.
• Support on reporting for and evaluation of all education activities and outputs, identifying impact and ways to improve.
• Support with BSR Committee liaison and logistics.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Education & Events Manager.
