We’re seeking a Senior Volunteer Coordinator to maintain and develop our remote services from our office in Nottingham. 

You will be an excellent communicator, as well as a practical, well organised and hardworking individual, preferably with experience in the voluntary sector or equivalent transferable experience.

Reporting to the Head of Service Delivery, you will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to deliver a service to Litigants in Person, facilitating day-to-day operations, and building and sustaining relationships with key contacts at our partner university and the national court service, as well as providing line management to our Volunteer Support Coordinator.

SENIOR HR ADVISOR – GENERALIST STAND ALONE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team starting, ideally, from early 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist, transitioning to managing an HR standalone function. This is permanent full-time role based in Old Street – London, with occasional travel to our Bristol office.

You will be involved in the whole employee lifecycle, from when candidates apply for a job to when staff leave the organisation. You will also help provide training and development opportunities for employees, and guidance around issues such as performance, career progression, and managing disciplinary issues where they arise.

You will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the ongoing development of the HR function at Deighton Pierce Glynn (DPG).  The role supports all aspects of HR, including recruitment & development, diversity & inclusion support, promoting positive employee relations and employee wellbeing, salary and benefits; all aspects of HR administration, and maintaining/upgrading the HR System and HR processes to fully utilise automation where it makes sense.  The role will also involve ensuring relevant HR policies and procedures are understood and followed. You will have the opportunity collaborate with the DPG team and the Senior HR Consultant to evolve the HR function, at DPG.  You will also have the chance to undertake HR initiatives that help deliver the DPG People and Culture objectives.

You will have the ability to truly grow and continuously develop within the role as you will be the main HR contact for all HR matters, with support from the Managing Partner, Practice Manager and HR Consultant.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience as HR Advisor or equivalent, in a generalist role.
• A desire to continue developing your HR experience and growing your career in this area.
• Ideally level 5 CIPD qualified with a desire to continue to professionally develop.
• Able to demonstrate professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
• Work style is consultative and actively listens to understand differing perspectives and problem solve.
• Strong emotional intelligence, relationship building skills and a genuine desire to help ‘make a difference’ in terms of helping the team to be successful through a fair and consistent approach to developing HR practices that support their growth, motivation and wellbeing.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proven track record of refining HR processes and ideas of how to implement AI into HR operations, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work at pace and multitask in a productive, delivery focused, empathetic and self-motivated way.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To assist with handling all incoming requests for help, both by telephone and email, to listen to and record the needs of elderly and/or terminally ill people and their pets (ie Owner needs).  To identify individuals outside our charitable remit and refer to other organisations that can offer assistance and always seek advice in the case of doubt.

Where help is required, to raise a computerised record to log the case, task volunteers nationwide by telephone and email to offer assistance to elderly Owners with the pet care and reassurance needed in order to honour our mission statement of “Peace of mind for owners, love care and safety for their pets”.  Liaise with both Owner and volunteer throughout to ensure the delivery of our service.  This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of elderly people and their pets.

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. To assist in contacting volunteers nationwide by telephone and email and tasking by telephone as required to help Owners with their pets.

ii. To listen to the needs of each Owner and accurately record information for each Owner and their pet by completion of a computerised case to record volunteers assigned and the service provided. 

iii. To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of comments on each Owner case at the end of each conversation.

iv. To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for Owners, Owners’ contacts and volunteers throughout the course of your work.

v. To ensure the appropriate delivery and quality of service provided to Owners when you are handling a request for:-

a) Dog Walking

Task a minimum of two volunteers per case to assist with dog walking.  Contact all volunteers after their first dog walk to check and ensure they have started, log all responses onto the database, then complete the case.

b) Home Checks

When a potential long term fosterer is identified, you will be asked to task a volunteer to visit and carry out a home check.  Once the completed home check has been received, complete the case – (all home checks will be valid for 12 months).

c) Short Term Fostering (stf)

To initially gather as much information about the pet(s) as you can and how soon a foster is required.  Raise a case and log all details onto the database, begin a computerised search for a suitable volunteer to foster, arrange transport, if needed, to take the pet(s) to the volunteer and follow up 24 hours after the pet arrives to ensure all is well.  Keep in touch weekly.

If the pet goes home – arrange transport to take the pet back home, again follow up 24 hours after the pet has returned home with a phone call to the Owner to ensure all is well.  If dog walking or any other assistance is needed, raise a new case and task the appropriate volunteers to either dog walk, offer Pet Care, reassure etc.

If the pet(s) goes into long term foster – refer to your line manager, once a decision is made, then follow the protocols for Long Term Fostering see below.

d) Long Term Fostering (ltf)

Raise a Long Term Foster Case, if needed, identify and chat to potential individuals, all of whom must already be home checked, run through the home check with the person to identify any changes, refer to your line manager, once the right individual is selected, arrange transport to take the pet(s) to their new ltf home.  Once the pet(s) have arrived, follow up 24 hours later to ensure all is well.

e) Pet Care

When required, task a volunteer to visit a Owner and offer pet care, whether it is to administer medicine, groom, clean out a litter tray, bird cage, reassure, or any other pet care as agreed with your line manager as this is not an exhaustive list.

f) Talks

To task a volunteer to give a talk, attend an event, or represent The Trust but always take advice from your line manager with regard to appropriate volunteers for these tasks.

v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.

vi. To contribute to the team by helping to update volunteer and Owner cases in the course of your communications.

vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.

viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.

ix. To liaise with all Owners and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

x. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures and protocols, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislations (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, Owners and volunteers alike).

xi. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for The Trust.

Together with such additional general duties as the Employer shall reasonably require, having regard to the needs of the Employer’s business as a Charitable Trust.

Key Responsibilities   

To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.

Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning  

With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:

1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.   
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects. 
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team. 
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.

Dissemination and Communications 

1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.
2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.
3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.
4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.
5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group. 
6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.

Other    

1. Work with other CBM UK teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.  
2. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM. Play an active role across CBM, promoting positive working and innovation. Ensure that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.  
3. Identify opportunities to initiate and contribute to new initiatives and events, both within CBM UK and externally. 
4. Provide briefings and analysis for the CEO and other Leadership Team members where appropriate. 
5. Carry out any other duties as required by the Evidence & Advocacy Manager, Director of Advocacy, and CEO.  

The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals taking on sporting challenges and effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

As Sporting Events Administrator, you will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Event Managers (SEM) and Sporting Event Officers (SEO) to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support supporters.

Please note, when applying for the role this role will be known internally as *Sporting Events Executive.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a secondment period.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide excellent customer service to Sporting Event fundraisers, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Ensure fundraisers and volunteers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Effective management of administrative support for team, including accurate recording of sporting fundraising data in the Salesforce database.

Event and Supporter Management

· Support the team in managing the sporting events as agreed with the Sporting Events Manager (SEM). Including recruitment of sporting places, recruitment of volunteers, communications plans, event marketing and event attendance.

· Working alongside the SEM and the SEO to manage the stewardship of all supporters.

· Build and manage relationships with prospective and current sporting fundraising supporters through prompt, helpful, professional and friendly contact.

· Taking the opportunity to maximise income and long-term support with every fundraising supporter, suggesting ARUK fundraising products where appropriate.

· Schedule and deliver stewardship good luck calls for all portfolio sporting eventers.

· Drafting prompt, professional thank you letters and certificates to fundraising supporters.

· Fundraising data management includes adding new constituents to the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring details are accurately recorded and maintained and that supporters are appropriately thanked.

· Managing emails sent to sporting events inbox.

Events Support

· Support in the effective delivery of sporting fundraising events for ARUK.

· May include relationship management with suppliers and logistics companies.

· Attendance of weekend events where necessary.

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated Finance Officer to join our team and support the day-to-day accounting functions across Norfolk Rivers Trust and its trading arm Rivers Ecology Limited. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Finance, helping to maintain accurate financial records, provide timely reporting, and support project teams with budget monitoring. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to learn, develop, and implement new systems and technology to improve efficiency, while playing a key role in helping the Trust achieve its mission to protect and enhance our water environments.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Financial Processes

• Ensure all financial activities are correctly entered into the company’s accounting system, including both purchase and sales ledgers, and the general ledgers for Norfolk Rivers Trust and its trading arm, Rivers Ecology Limited.
• Oversee supplier payments and prepare regular payment runs, managing new supplier details and bank amendments securely.
• Manage the sales invoicing process to ensure income is invoiced, recorded, and followed up promptly.
• Oversee monthly entry of staff timesheets and expenses into the accounting system.
• Complete and maintain timely bank reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
• Manage intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate and consistent recording across the Group.
• Support the Head of Finance with the annual audit process through preparation of required schedules and documentation.
• Assist with monthly payroll tasks as required.

2. Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate submission of management accounts with variance analysis and supporting schedules for internal review.
• Provide regular financial data and insights to the Senior Leadership Team as may be required.
• Provide financial reporting support for clients and funders, ensuring grant-related reports are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time and in accordance with grant conditions.

3. Compliance, Controls and Data Management

• Ensure all financial processing complies with internal policies, financial regulations, and relevant legislation.
• Maintain accurate, secure, and up-to-date financial records, ensuring appropriate document retention and audit trails.
• Ensure GDPR compliance when handling financial data.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Support the Head of Finance in preparing annual budgets and forecasting tasks.
• Collaborate with Project Leads to track and report project finances, ensuring a clear understanding of income and expenditure to support budget management, facilitate decision-making, and handle project claims and variance requests effectively.
• Assist in preparing and managing cash flows as needed, ensuring effective monitoring and timely provision.

5. Systems

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and procedures.
• Support the implementation and adoption of new accounting software and related financial systems, including assisting with data migration and process training where required.

6. Stakeholder and Funder Engagement

• Engage with external clients, grant funders, and partners on financial matters including income, expenditure, and reporting, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Address finance related queries from both internal and external stakeholders promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with external consultants, such as accountants and other service providers, to support financial processes as needed.
• Share and exchange best practices and innovative ideas within the Rivers Trust network to foster continuous improvement.

7. Communication and Development‍

• Ensure consistent and proactive communication with the Head of Finance, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment on financial matters.
• Support the Head of Finance in delivering internal financial training to teams, including training on budgeting and financial management.
• Provide updates and engage in team meetings as required.
• Contribute to a collaborative and positive working environment within the Finance Team.
• Ensure clear communication, collaboration, and consistency across teams, promoting shared learning and continual improvement in financial processes.

Person specification:

Education and experience

Essential:

• Bookkeeping qualification equivalent to AAT Level 3.
• Experience of working within a finance or accounting role.

Skills and knowledge

Essential:

• Clear commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Norfolk Rivers Trust.
• Strong financial process management, including understanding of the general ledger, purchase and sales ledgers , and ensuring accurate account reconciliations.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills, capable of presenting financial data clearly.
