We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Peterborough and District Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

You will maintain and approve income and expenditure records and explain financial information clearly to other group members. You would ensure our financial requirements and policies are followed, and that money is spent in a cost effective manner.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a large charity, develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

Purpose of the Role

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on connecting with others and enjoys being active in the community. As a Volunteer Engagement & Outreach Ambassador, you will play a vital role in promoting RollaDome’s roller skating clubs, birthday parties, and employability programs by visiting schools, attending events, and networking with local organisations. Your energy, people skills, and passion for getting others involved will help bring new participants into our programs and increase our presence across boroughs.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent RollaDome at schools, youth centres, and community events.
• Promote our services, including skating clubs, classes, parties, and training programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with school staff, community leaders, and youth organisations.
• Distribute leaflets, posters, and program information within schools and key community venues.
• Gather expressions of interest and pass them to the relevant team members.
• Share regular updates on outreach activities via email, short voice notes, or a simple log sheet.
• Provide informal feedback from schools and communities to help us tailor our services.

The Martin James Foundation (MJF) is a global network of charitable organisations working with a shared vision of a world in which children grow up and thrive in safe and loving families.

The Role:

The Martin James Foundation is currently seeking a new Chairperson. This is an exciting time for the Foundation as we continue to deliver on our new Strategy. We are looking for an individual who will contribute to guiding the charity on its mission to support children and families around the world.

For the Chairperson role, we are hoping to attract candidates with the following:

1. Required - Experience in a leadership capacity within the i) children’s social care sector, ideally foster care and/or family support services, ii) and/or in the provision of global development,
2. Required – Time commitment – availability to prepare for and attend quarterly board meetings, quarterly sub-committee meetings and monthly CEO catch-ups (estimate 8hrs per month),
3. Location – UK, or amenable to attend meetings within GMT working hours, and amenable to attending one face to face meeting per annum.
4. Desirable – Local or national government engagement experience, such as securing and delivering contracts or lobbying for policy change,
5. Desirable – Prior experience as a Charity Trustee (or non-UK equivalent), ideally as a Chair

Applications from people with experience in the practical, operational delivery of community and development projects, either in the UK or internationally, would be highly welcomed.

Board positions are voluntary, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed, and any training costs will be covered.

• Respond to comments and direct messages from followers. 

• Help manage social media advertising campaigns.

COPA is a small national registered charity run by older people for older people in Wales. We are the “national voice” for local older people’s groups and want to make sure that older people are listened to, and their demands are acted on. We feed the views and opinions of fora and groups directly into both government and national public organisations. There is strength in numbers and a demand for well organised and informed lobbying that can have  a greater influence and reach than is feasible by any individual or  local group

The number and proportion of older people in Wales has been increasing for decades and their needs have become more complex and diverse. Changes in society and politics mean that the challenges facing many older people, particularly those on low incomes or in poor health are struggling to be sufficiently recognised. In COPA we have prioritised a range of issues to address including tackling age discrimination, creating Age Friendly Communities, building intergenerational solidarity, tackling isolation and loneliness, and cost of living and digital inclusion, as well as health, social care, housing and transport. We campaign from a position of independence and the self-determined voice of older people.

In order to address this important agenda and strengthen our charity we are looking to recruit a number of new trustees in 2025. COPA would like to invite any individuals who may be interested in becoming a Trustee to contact us. This is an opportunity to directly influence and contribute to the work of a charity that is making a difference to the lives of older people across Wales.
