Charleston is seeking a creative and results driven Marketing and Communications Manager with a passion for arts and cultural programming to lead the promotion of our events programme and enterprises offer. Working closely with the Head of Programme & Events, the role will plan and deliver end to end marketing campaigns that promote our festivals and events, driving footfall to our yearround programme, cafes and shops.

Duties and responsibilities

• Plan, create, and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns for our year-round festivals and events programme, including digital and offline advertising, press, social media, website, and print, ensuring all event content drives revenue and is promoted consistently across all platforms.
• Plan and deliver marketing initiatives for Charleston’s enterprise offer to grow attendance, sales, and revenue.
• Work with external brands to promote commercial partnerships.
• Ensure community engagement and learning events are supported and promoted, forming an integral part of the wider programme.
• Design and produce marketing materials in line with brand guidelines, including brochures, flyers and posters using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Working with external designers as and when required.
• Responding to operational or crisis communications needs with agility and creativity.
• Conduct and lead on research, surveys and digital analytics to deliver actionable audience insight on the events programme including booking behaviours, competitive positioning and trends.
• Monitor ticket sales and performance metrics in conjunction with the events team to determine ticket pricing.
• Work with the Ticketing and Events Coordinator and other teams to ensure a seamless audience journey through the website, ticketing, and on-site experience.

Press

• Work closely with the PR agency on the planning and delivery of PR campaigns to generate coverage of Charleston’s festivals and year- round programme of events, cultivating existing relationships with local and
• national press.
• Write and distribute press releases for campaigns or announcements.
• Manage press visits across the programme.
• Work with external partners, speakers and sponsors to identify opportunities for cross-promotion.

Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager:
• Exhibitions and Development to optimise cross-promotion opportunities, drive membership across the programme and maximise visitor engagement with Charleston’s offer.
• Share management of Charleston’s website, ensuring it is always up to date, engaging, and reflective of the organisation.
• Manage the communications calendar in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager: Exhibitions and Development.
• With the Events Manager, organise and support photoshoots and film shoots

General duties

• With oversite from the Head of Programme and Events plan and manage budgets and expenditure for marketing campaigns.
• Ensure all data management and communications are compliant with GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act (2018)
• Keep up to date with emerging audience and marketing trends and share insights with colleagues.
• Build and maintain relationships and networks within the cultural sector, particularly across publishing, festivals and live events.
• Work a flexible pattern during our programme when required to help manage content creation, press and photography.
• Carry out other duties that may arise to fulfil the main objectives of the post and the aims of Charleston.

Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) works with a community of global alumni and donors to  deepen their ties with York and each other, and encourage them to support the University through York Giving.  This role is part of the Individual Philanthropy Team, which manages major individual philanthropy and the legacy giving programme, working closely with the other OPPA teams:

Corporate and Foundation Philanthropy: developing long term, strategic partnerships with philanthropic  corporate and foundation supporters.

About the Role

The role of Philanthropy Manager is to inspire and encourage philanthropic income from major individual donors to the University of York.  You will work to build engagement and involvement of potential major donors and colleagues across the University to develop and deliver a pipeline of significant philanthropic gifts to York Giving’s priority projects. 

You will manage a portfolio of major donor prospects and have responsibility and accountability for fund management and other priority projects for philanthropic funding, including liaising with academic theme coordinators.

This is a demanding and rewarding role that requires resilience and a long term view.  The post holder will work to individual financial cash and pledge targets and KPIs based on meetings, moves, proposals and asks made.

The ITF is looking for an experienced administrative leader to head our Maritime Administration team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of support across our global maritime work.

About the Role

The Head of Maritime Administration will lead the London-based team responsible for providing reliable, high-quality administrative support to the ITF’s maritime sections, department and affiliates. The role combines strategic oversight with practical, day-to-day management to ensure teams have the systems, structures and information they need to deliver their workplans.

Royal Free Charity – Philanthropy Manager
Location: Hybrid working, with two days a week at London office, NW3.

Royal Free Charity, the strategic partner to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL), is seeking a creative and driven Philanthropy Manager to lead efforts to secure four and five-figure gifts and to ensure donors are stewarded with the best possible experience of the charity to encourage ongoing support.

The Royal Free Charity works to raise funds for enhanced support for patients, vital support for staff, groundbreaking research and innovation, and cutting edge medical equipment. Through the services they provide and the programmes and equipment they fund, the charity aims to make a profound and immediate different to patients’ experience of care at RFL.

Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager and working with other colleagues in the philanthropy and campaigns team, the role will be responsible for delivering the best possible experience to some of the charity’s most committed donors through a mixture of bespoke events, personalised communications and recognition opportunities across the charity’s hospital sites. This will include leading and delivering a mid-level giving retention and recruitment strategy for donors giving between £1,000 and £50,000 and looking to identify potential opportunities for uplift in giving.

The Philanthropy Manager will play an important role building relationships and increasing income in what will be a pivotal year for the charity as they prepare for a multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital. As our Global Digital Engagement Officer, you will work closely within the communications team to help lead the development and delivery of our digital engagement strategy, ensuring our content is insight-led, cuts through the noise, inspires action, delivers on objectives, and amplifies the voices of those on the frontlines of the fight against malaria. 

You’ll take our messages to the audiences that matter most: from world-leaders and political decision-makers to supporters and influencers. You’ll work across the organisation, helping ensure the people and stories that drive change are seen, heard, and shared.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy & Planning 

• Support with the creation and delivery of a monthly, insight-led digital engagement and content plan , ensuring it adheres to the strategy, and aligns with MNMUK’s advocacy and campaign objectives and influencing global decision-making. 

• Manage and optimise channels and content from an agreed strategy, ensuring our messages reach and resonate with priority audiences in key geographies. 

• Support on all aspects of digital and content for multiplatform global campaigns and engagement moments (e.g. World Malaria Day, UNGA, G7, Davos). 

• Maximise reach and influence of Malaria No More UK’s  ambassadors and patrons to amplify messages and help the Malaria No More UK and Zero Malaria channels grow. 

• With the Head of Ambassador Relations and Creative Partnerships, devise a clear strategy for building a new pool of creator influencers engaged in policy and advocacy influencing. 

Content Creation & Publishing 

• With support from senior communications’ colleagues, you will ideate, and produce creative multi-channel content, sometimes supporting the management of agencies, freelancers, and partners to ensure delivery of world-class multiplatform campaigns.

• Provide digital, content, and social expertise across MNMUK and its partners, ensuring creatives, scientists, and advocates are amplified through coordinated digital strategies.

• Along with the Senior Digital and Content Manager, function as a digital, content, and social media advisor to the MNMUK team. 

• Maintain consistent use of agreed narratives and campaign messaging within brand guidelines. 

Engagement & Amplification 

• Support digital engagement with influencers, ambassadors, and decision-makers, using paid and organic tactics to drive advocacy impact. 

• Amplify voices of trusted messengers from endemic countries, world class scientists, Zero Malaria celebrity ambassadors, and influencers in target markets. 

Insight & Reporting 

• Use data and insight to support MNMUK’s mission. Generate weekly digital and social reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership and partners, using insights to help refine strategy and improve impact. 

• Feed results into campaign planning and organisational learning. 

Website Management  

• Support the upkeep and optimisation of the organisation’s website by updating content, uploading blogs, campaign pages, and resources, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand guidelines. Flag technical issues to external providers or the Senior Digital Manager as needed. 

Qualifications, skills, and experience  

Essential 

• Proven experience in managing social channels including publishing content and engaging with audiences. 

• Proven experience in creating original content for web and social channels. 

• Proven experience delivering digital engagement strategies for campaigns that influence decision-makers, ideally in advocacy, politics, or global health. 

• Knowledge of paid social strategy, SEO/SEM, audience segmentation, and analytics. 

• Knowledge of CMS tools, influencer tools, and analytics tools. 

• Proven ability to grow organic engagement across all channels. 

• Confidence advising senior leaders on digital strategy, with the ability to influence cross-organisational decision-making. 

• Strong understanding of accessibility, safeguarding, and ethical practice in digital spaces. 

• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) for digital content. 

• Familiarity with emerging AI and digital optimisation tools.
