Jamma Wellbeing is looking for an exceptional Director to lead the organisation through its next stage of development.

This is an opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to bring their judgement, experience and vision to work closely with a passionate Founder and Board to shape the future of an ambitious wellbeing charity.

Jamma Wellbeing exists to empower people so they can navigate life with greater confidence and choice. At the heart of our work is Brain Smart®, a practical wellbeing education framework that makes complex psychological ideas understandable and useful. Brain Smart is already being delivered through partnerships in prisons, schools, communities and workplaces.

The opportunity is to help build and deliver Jamma Wellbeing’s future model: delivering a sharper strategy, developing a strong operating model, building the right partnerships and creating a sustainable route to greater impact.

For the right person, this is much more than a conventional charity Director role. It is a chance to help build an organisation capable of changing how practical wellbeing education is delivered — taking useful, evidence-informed ideas to more people through trusted partners.

The role

The Director will lead Jamma Wellbeing from its current stage into a focused, sustainable and scalable organisation.

You will work closely with the Founder and team, while having real responsibility for translating ambition into delivery.

Key priorities will include:

• turning Jamma's strategy into a clear and executable plan;
• developing Brain Smart and its supporting infrastructure into a compelling, partner-ready proposition;
• building and leading high-quality partnerships across primarily education, public services, communities and other relevant sectors;
• establishing a sustainable income model, including licensing, partnerships, grants and public-sector opportunities;
• personally leading important early partner relationships and negotiations;
• building a small, capable team and network of specialist support;
• strengthening the systems required for safeguarding, quality assurance, accreditation, evaluation and reporting;
• creating clear measures of impact and using evidence to determine where Jamma should invest, adapt, expand or stop; and
• representing Jamma credibly with partners, funders, commissioners and other senior stakeholders.

Commercial responsibility is an important part of the role. We want to increase Jamma's reach and impact, but to do so in a way that is financially sustainable and protects the quality, integrity and safety of the programme.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a builder.

Someone who is energised by creating something that does not yet fully exist, who can see the big picture but is equally comfortable turning ideas into plans, decisions, partnerships and measurable results.

You are likely to bring:

• significant senior leadership experience in an organisation that has grown, transformed or developed a new operating model;
• a strong track record of turning strategy into delivery;
• experience developing significant partnerships and generating revenue;
• strong commercial judgement, including propositions, contracts, financial management and senior-level negotiation;
• experience building teams, systems or capabilities in an evolving organisation;
• confidence working with Boards and senior stakeholders;
• strong financial literacy and a disciplined approach to priorities, investment and performance; and
• a well-developed network across the UK, including relationships across the private, public and/or philanthropic sectors.

Experience in education, youth, health and wellbeing, charities, social enterprise or public-sector commissioning would be valuable, but we are equally interested in strong leaders from outside the traditional charity sector who are attracted by the opportunity to apply their experience to social impact.

Experience of licensing, accreditation, train-the-trainer or another partner-led scaling model would also be an advantage.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, compassionate and professional person with strong communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Position: 000012 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based covering Herefordshire and Worcestershire. However, this role will require extensive travel across the delivery area. Travel will also be required for team meetings and other work-related meetings

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £22,600 per annum (FTE circa £28,300 per annum)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027. Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31st March 2027

The Role

In this role, you’ll support stroke survivors and their families as they adjust to life after stroke. You’ll help identify their needs, provide personalised information, advice and support, and work with them to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

· Support stroke survivors and carers as they move from hospital discharge back into the community.

· Use a person-centred approach to help stroke survivors and carers set goals and access the right support.

· Provide clear, tailored information, advice and practical support.

· Encourage stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes that may reduce the risk of further strokes.

· Work closely with NHS colleagues and community partners to improve the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

You will:

· Have a background in a caring and/or charity profession supporting people with disabilities.

· Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve joint ambitions.

· Have experience of working with people who may have additional communication support needs.

· Be proficient in using Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel and experience using IT systems to record and maintain beneficiary data.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to coordinate our accreditation scheme. The role will work with our network of employers, and support new organisations through the accreditation process. 

The Programme Officer will support our work across the South East and support our managers to grow and deepen engagement with Living Wage Employers through our associated schemes. You will help to ensure our resources and publicity materials are well written and up-to-date, and to coordinate events to grow our employer network. 

Working as the Programme Officer for Citizens UK, reporting to a Programme Manager, your main responsibilities will include: 

Contribute towards the achievement of CUK and LWF’s strategic objectives

Understand how the role contributes to LWF’s purpose and the core mission of CUK

Reliably implement CUK’s and LWF’s policies, procedures, and values in own work

Work with CUK community organisers and leaders to promote civic engagement with and ownership of the Living Wage campaign 

Feed into the LWF strategy and objectives development 

Living Wage Accreditation 

• Support key contacts at potential LW Employers through the accreditation process, from dealing with initial enquiries to guiding them through the employer journey, to checking and processing their accreditation 

• Develop rewarding relationships with key employers, industry, and campaign partners within our networks to build interest in the Living Wage and deliver a high-quality experience to our accredited employers 

• With support from the wider team, develop plans and strategies to grow the number of accreditations in specific regions or industries 

• Collate and disseminate Living Wage criteria and policy issues through both internal and external facing guidance, whilst reviewing and monitoring its suitability 

• Support the development and implementation of projects to promote and grow Living Wage accreditations and develop the quality of service offered

Job purpose: We are looking for a Clinical Lead to provide visible clinical leadership and assurance across Brake’s National Road Victim Service and wider organisational clinical practice, ensuring that services are safe, evidence-led, trauma-informed and consistently delivered.

The role will lead clinical governance and safeguarding development, strengthen quality assurance and risk management, provide specialist clinical and safeguarding guidance, and build workforce confidence through learning, reflective practice and professional development.

Working closely with leaders, managers and practitioners, the Clinical Lead will promote accountability for clinical standards, support consistent quality across regional teams and ensure learning from incidents, complaints, reviews and audits translates into service development.

The postholder will act as the lead for trauma-informed practice within NRVS and support the embedding of trauma-informed approaches across the wider organisation, ensuring practice reflects current evidence, professional standards and changes in the external landscape.

The role will support service resilience and operational improvement from a clinical perspective, including monitoring risks to safe service delivery, identifying opportunities to improve impact and efficiency, and helping ensure client outcomes are achieved before case closure.

The successful candidate will lead the development of a thriving national community of people affected by myasthenia, ensuring that individuals and families feel connected, represented and empowered. They will transform community insight into meaningful campaigns, influence policy and healthcare decision-making, and position myaware as the authoritative voice for everyone affected by the condition.

Success in this role will be measured not only by influence and campaigning outcomes, but by the growth, engagement and mobilisation of our community. The Director will play a central role in delivering our ambition to reach, engage and retain 50% of the UK's myasthenia population as members and active supporters within five years, creating a change-maker movement that is representative of our goals.

Key Responsibilities

Community Growth and Engagement

• Contribute towards the development and delivery of a comprehensive membership growth strategy aimed at engaging at least 50% of the UK myasthenia community within five years.
• Build a deep understanding of the patient journey and identify opportunities to connect with people from diagnosis onwards.
• Lead the development of services, programmes and engagement approaches that increase membership recruitment, retention and participation.
• Ensure that people affected by myasthenia are at the heart of all organisational decisions, campaigns and strategic priorities.
• Create pathways for members, volunteers, supporters and ambassadors to actively contribute to myaware's work.
• Use data, insight and market intelligence to measure community reach, identify underserved groups and drive continuous improvement.

Campaigning, Policy and Influence

• Develop and implement a national campaigning and influencing strategy focused on awareness, equity of care, access to treatment and service improvement.
• Position myaware as a leading voice within healthcare, policy and rare disease discussions across the UK.
• Build strategic relationships with parliamentarians, government departments, NHS organisations, Integrated Care Boards, NICE, clinicians, researchers, industry partners and allied charities.
• Lead public affairs activity, including consultation responses, parliamentary engagement, policy briefings and stakeholder events.
• Ensure lived experience evidence informs policy development, healthcare decision-making and treatment access discussions.

Organisational Leadership

• Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to organisational strategy and performance.
• Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, collaboration and measurable impact.
• Work closely with fundraising, communications, partnerships, and service delivery colleagues to maximise organisational reach and effectiveness.

Awareness and Public Engagement

• Increase awareness and understanding of myasthenia among healthcare professionals, policymakers, media and the public.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen myaware's visibility, reputation and influence.
• Support the development of compelling campaigns, media activity and storytelling that inspire engagement and drive action.
• To be the spokesperson for myaware.

What Success Looks Like

Within five years, the postholder will have:

• Led significant growth in membership, progressing towards engaging at least 50% of the UK's myasthenia community.
• Increased participation in surveys, campaigns, events, volunteering and lived-experience activities.
• Established myaware as the recognised national voice for people affected by myasthenia.
• Secured meaningful influence in policy, healthcare and treatment access discussions.
• Generated evidence of improvements in awareness, service delivery, treatment access and patient representation.

Essential Experience

• Significant senior leadership experience within the charity, healthcare, membership, public affairs or advocacy sectors.
• Proven success in growing and engaging communities, memberships, movements or supporter bases at scale.
• Experience developing and delivering campaigning, influencing or public affairs strategies that have achieved measurable outcomes.
• Strong track record of building relationships with senior external stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Experience using data, insight and lived experience to shape organisational priorities and influence strategy.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams.

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.
