Body & Soul is a charity dedicated to transforming the life-threatening effects of adverse childhood experiences. Whether someone has been neglected or abused, trafficked, attempted suicide or stigmatised because of HIV – we have helped to liberate thousands of people from the trauma that controls them.  Our community provides people of all ages with a wide range of innovative and creative programmes that support physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being.  We have developed a ‘whole person’ model of care rooted in a strengths-based approach that nurtures connection, healing and growth. This internship provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in charity fundraising while contributing to the mission of Body & Soul. As a Fundraising Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting our development and fundraising team across a variety of impactful projects. We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn about the fundraising and charity sectors. You’ll be passionate about social justice, eager to make a difference, and open to bringing your own creativity to the role. No prior experience necessary - just a commitment to learning and supporting our mission! 

Our intern will be… 

• Researching potential donors, funding bodies, and grant opportunities. 

• Researching and collecting data on relevant issues and current events (i.e suicide, HIV, etc.)

• Assisting with community fundraising events and initiatives. 

• Organising and updating donor databases. 

• Supporting donor communication and stewardship. 

• Monitoring and reporting on current donor and fundraising trends. 

• Assisting in writing and preparing small grant applications. 

• Contributing creative ideas to fundraising campaigns and strategies. 

We are looking for an intern who… 

• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Has a strong attention to detail and organisational abilities. 

• Is comfortable using spreadsheets and data tools (e.g., Excel). 

• Has an ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks. 

• Is interested in charity, social impact, or nonprofit fundraising. 

• Has a creative mindset and willingness to contribute ideas. 

• Can commit to three days a week, including Wednesday. 

This internship is ideal for students, recent graduates, or career changers looking to gain valuable experience in the charity sector. You'll receive mentorship and a space to grow in a supportive, inclusive environment. We also offer regular learning and development opportunities for interns designed to provide a deeper insight into Body & Soul’s unique approach. 

This is an unpaid internship with travel and lunch expenses covered if needed.

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient. Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Give as much (or little) time as you can afford. With this new role, you simply volunteer when it works for you. Regular network meetings take place every Monday, other times and day can be arranged.

Our course has been specially designed to gather the insights of the world's leading experts on six fundamental aspects of a happy and meaningful life: Gratitude, Self-Care, Relationships, Resilience, Kindness, and Meaning. It is a very impactful (many say life-changing) experience.

You will make sure that our customers receive a warm welcome and help us to achieve our ambition of delivering the best customer service of any UK charity. Join us for a day of nature, community, and conservation!

WWF-UK’s Great Wild Walks are inspiring fundraising events set in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in making these events a success—supporting walkers, cheering them on, and helping raise crucial funds for WWF’s global conservation work.

Volunteer Roles

Roles are assigned on the day, but here’s what you might be doing:

• Event Village Volunteer: Greet participants, hand out t-shirts and medals, support recycling stations, and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Route Marshal: Guide and cheer on walkers along the route, ensuring they stay on track and feel encouraged.
• Back Marker: Walk the full 10-mile route behind the last participants, offering support and removing signage as you go.

What we need from you

• supporting with cat admissions and matching cats with prospective owners
• ordering, collecting and delivering cat-related supplies, for example, food, litter, medical supplies
• communicating with the public, offering support with cat ownership or lost and found cats
• supporting the volunteer neutering team

Time expectation

Our Cat Welfare Support volunteers typically volunteer for two to four hours per week. This role is flexible and can fit around your other commitments.
