In April 2021 we launched the GM Navigators project to support young people impacted by youth violence.  In response to feedback from parents and carers, the PACS project was set up in 2023 to assist Parents and Carers identifying their child as ‘at risk’. Since this the service has gone from strength to strength with Parents and Carers engaging from all 10 GM boroughs.  We have securing funding to continue this project until 2027 with potential for further extensions.

Oasis is recruiting a PAC Support Worker to be part of the PAC Project.   

As a PAC Support Worker you will;

· Support parent and carers that identify their child is “at risk” offering them advice and guidance, practical support and linking them in with services/groups that will provide them with a sustainable support network.

· Help parents and carers to develop projects to raise awareness of the issues they are facing, offering peer support and influence policy and system change. 

· Be trained in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and other parenting approaches to support parents and carers to respond to their children’s needs, de-escalate situations and maintain good relationships within their home.

· Delivering our ‘Encounter’ Parenting Training (based on the principles of NVR) online and in-person to groups of parents and host online and in-person support groups for parents and carers.

· Be integral to the shaping and development of the PAC project utilizing the feedback of those you are working with to ensure the project is impactful and meeting parent’s and carers needs as a priority.

• Empower Parents and Carers that want to set up groups or run campaigns to raise awareness of issues they are facing.  Managing resources to support them to turn their ambitions into reality.

· A demonstratable relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC) or Social Work (QSW) or SEND

Role Summary 

The main function of the Careers Coordinator (Work Experience) role is to develop, support and deliver Into Film’s Screen Careers Work Experience programmes. Screen Careers covers film, TV, animation, VFX and games. The postholder will work closely with the Careers Lead, Industry Partnerships Lead and other members of Into Film staff who conceive, create and deliver our Screen Careers Programme.

The Careers Coordinator will primarily manage work experience programmes across the four nations of the UK (outside of the ScreenWorks programme in Northern Ireland) but will also support the careers team with various other deliverables across the programme including but not limited to events with young people, development of resources and training for careers professionals, supporting development of ‘direct to young people’ content, and exhibiting at careers conferences UK-wide. The role will have a focus on reaching those young people who are underserved and under-represented.

Main Responsibilities:

• As directed by the Careers Lead, support the implementation of the Screen Careers Work Experience programmes throughout the UK alongside local activation coordinators.
• Liaise with industry professionals across the four nations to co-deliver work experience programmes.
• Create documentation and resources that can be adapted per location to support work experience programmes.
• Manage a budget for work experience programmes.
• Support the Careers Lead and Industry Partnerships Lead to manage stakeholders and industry partner relationships utilising Salesforce, our Customer Relationship Management tool.
• Monitor and evaluate the programme utilising internal and external feedback to help shape future Screen Careers annual programme plans.
• Contribute to quarterly reports to funders and the Into Film board.
• Assist the Careers Lead and UK-wide activation team to plan and deliver Screen Careers events.
• Support the Learning Content Creation team with the development of Screen Careers resources, training and courses.
• With support from the Safeguarding and Child Protection team, manage the safeguarding and consent processes for work experience programmes.
• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience, knowledge and understanding of the careers education, information, advice and guidance landscape for 11–18-year-olds across the four nations of the UK.
• At least one year's experience working on work experience programmes in education settings or the screen industries.
• Understanding and experience of what careers professionals and educators need in order to support young people to explore the breath of opportunities in the screen industries, particularly those currently underrepresented in the industry.
• Experience, knowledge and understanding of the screen industries across the UK.
• Understanding of how AI may impact careers for young people.
• Organisational project management skills including a particularly strong eye for attention to detail, strong communication style and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Strong collaborative skills working across multiple teams and disciplines.

• Experience of event management and high-profile engagement.
• Knowledge of fundraising and how Into Film’s careers work could feed into successful applications.

What you’ll be doing:

Building on the strong foundations of our current Dad Matters programme, you will work collaboratively with our existing Co-ordinator, with a focus on:

• Planning and delivering weekly peer support sessions for dads
• Supporting the development and delivering Dad’s antenatal sessions with local NHS services
• Recruiting, coordinating and supporting volunteers to contribute to the programme
• Helping dads develop their understanding of building strong parent-infant relationships
• Raising awareness of fathers’ mental health and suicide prevention, especially in the perinatal period
